As I read it its IAA instrument but no AU or AB.

AB will come soon and most likely AU-X too together with midi-clock for lfos and delays and more cc over parameters.

The devloper is a cool dude and knows what he's doing.

GUI seems ready made for AUv3, I hope it's a smooth process for him. This thing begs to be multi-instanced and sonically it blends nicely with Ruismaker

    Wow, when that lands, instabuy!

  • :( I can't find it in the US store? Was so excited.

  • Thanks for the link to the app because it didn't show up for me typing in the app store search.

  • Cool, just followed the link on my pad and got it. it sounds goooooooood

  • No issues loading it as IAA-Instrument in Cubasis.
Track Freezing works fine but Cubasis really needs plug-in delay compensation that will hopefully come with the Cubasis 2.0 update.

There is also no IAA Transport Bar at the moment but recording using Cubasis keyboard works just fine :)

I have to say Poison-202 is very polished for 1.0 release!

  • Can anybody confirm if this has Mid-Learn?

    Thanks

That will also come in a later update with assignable controller slots...

The developer seems to be very open to suggestioks so head over to the fb page and give him feedback :)

I need to catch some zzzzzzzzz now...

  • I'm liking this synth so far. were is the octave switch to move to higher or lower keys on the keyboard.?

  • Very happy with this purchase, more than I thought I'd be.

  • VodooPeople!

  • Is this a take on one of the Roland synths? Or just similar?

It really does have some difference in character to many other iOS synths. Would love to see some more waveforms added in the future (yes greedy first day request).

Nice interface. Very easy to use.

Too late at night to hook up to my monitors to really test out though.

I think it uses quite a bit of my Air2 ompff though, so while an AU would be welcome, I might not be able to run many.

If you swipe up at the top the keyboard you'll get the keyboard ribbon thing to select keyboard section.

Actually don't need to swipe, just touch near it.

  • The knobs are jumping a bit, don't you think?

  • Thanks for the link, it didn't show up in a search. £7.99 UK (I assume $9.99 US).

    aww your awesome thanks man

  • Oooooh that sounds good! Another purchase on the App Store! :-)

  • It sounds great. The design is very easy on the eyes. I like that a lot that I don't have to squint to see everything.

On the Facebook page the developer mentioned that it's a structural take on the JD-990. Looks like we are getting the Roland we need on iOS without Roland :)

  • Got it!....... It's in Cypriot iTunes Store now. :)

  • Got it as well. Somewhat disappointed or underwhelmed. Perhaps spent too much time over the past few days playing with Sunriser and Thor. Perhaps was born in the wrong decade. Did alleviate my remorse by remembering just how many under-used synth apps I already own and how this ten dollars might send me back to go through the sounds I haven't even listened to yet. All of this left me feeling somewhat churlish about someone else's hard work putting together an app that no doubt many will find hits their own sweet spot.

There's a lot of emotional turmoil in buying apps. To use our usual example, I never feel so conflicted about coffee.

I've contacted him to offer support if he chooses to make it an AU.

  • Haven't bought it yet. I would like to see a video making some sounds and understand the sound engine. On the video showing the presets ,the sound is harsh and digital, perfect for the target group but maybe not my taste.

  • My initial impressions are:

    1. I like the layout. I find it easy to use.
    2. I will find the sound useful.
    3. The sounds are mostly not swamped in fx which I like.
    4. The presets while ok seem aimed at a certain style of music. I will have to make my own.
    5. I think it's capable of much more than the presets show.
    6. It seems quite similar to a Roland partial. As an AU and mixing multiple instances, I believe some lush Rolandesque pads would be the order of the day.
    7. Keeping the fx off and using external seems to work best.

So there I was, coming to this thread to validate my decision to buy after seeing everyone's positive feedback, and now I'm not so sure!

I do, sometimes when I buy a white chocolate mocha, my friends Caramel Macchiato just looks so much nicer oh and vice versa of course.

And I'm definitely waiting for the AU version before buying, apps are getting just expensive enough that I'm no longer prepared to buy them on trust that features will appear

    1. The write button is too close to the patch scrol down button.
    2. There are some minor bugs - sticking notes etc.
    3. Some processor spikes when adjusting while playing.
