Looks like 2.0 might drop after the sale ends.
But the upgrade to 2.0 will be free, so jump on this if you're on the fence!
Yeah, definitely the best time to buy Cubasis. I bought it on sale last June. There's been a good amount of updates since then. So at $24.99 it's well worth the money. Keep up the good work with the AUs @brambos. That's what makes me keep using Cubasis more often.

That link is for Keezy Drummer, which has always been free as far as I know.
Found a link to DRUMMR https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/drummr/id1141465095 which was released today.
You're right DRUMMR wrong link, sorry. Nice that you put the correct link up. Thx! Weird though, appshopper says it was launched 20 aug for $0.99 and now free: http://appshopper.com/music/drummr
Already jumped and picked up Ruismaker and Ruismaker FM now that I can use AUs with Cubasis. Excited.
That's right folks this might be the last train stop before the big 2.0 free update
I haven't bought any DAWs, as I'm only using an iPhone at the moment, and the cool kid ones (Cubasis, Auria, others?) are iPad only. I've looked at BeatMaker, but I've dragged my feet as there's a fabled version 3 coming. Also, because I've wondered if maybe going with one of the iPad only ones would be better in the long run.
I know asking for a one true DAW is probably asking for a flame war on the order of going to a programming forum and asking the emacs vs vi question. So I'm not asking for anyone to say why one is best, but more for a break down of the differences and trade offs. Using Garage Band and AUM (I know this isn't a DAW per se) as reference points would be great
Seldom has dialogue in response to this question led to anything that resembles a positive outcome...I hope the forum will refrain.

No doubt those fine and true fellows who know so much more than I can offer more technical answers, but from a mere dabbler's POV...
Garage Band; great for its content, generating ideas and ease of use. Well worth buying the add-in stuff.
AUM , Super slick to use, far easier to use than a fully fledged DAW, and perfect for combining IAA with AU and AudioBus set ups you may have.
Cubasis , currently my DAW of choice for sequencing, because I find it suits the way I work and offers add-on packs at a very reasonable price. Supports AU.
AuriaPro , got this in recent sale. Does quite a lot more than Cubasis (at least until version 2) and is currently the closest IOS has to a desktop DAW. But, the add-ons are much more expensive than most IOS IAP's. Does not yet support AU, but will at some point.
I'd also suggest buying Final Touch, a superb mastering app, which I believe is still in sale at a fantastic reduction.
Yeah, looks like 1.1 was released today, I looked in the App Store on the iPhone (also downloaded it while I was at it ) so I could see the version history, and it shows version 1.0 was released 8/17
I don't want to jack this thread, and there is certainly no shortage of app VS app threads in this forum, but this is my take in a nutshell.
GB is sort of a band-in-the-box solution -- user friendly, dirt cheap, with loads of instruments. It doesn't particularly play well with others when it comes to using those instruments outside of GB or sharing your project(s) with others.
AUM is great for connecting and mixing disparate instruments you already own that don't always play well together, and it gives you lots of options for importing/exporting/sharing.
This time FX Packs aren't on sale. I bought mine (FX1) at €3,99 instead of €6,99.
I'm not in for this one (I'm still only half way through Auria's manual!) but it's a no brainer at this sale price, especially considering the upcoming free update.
Dang it! I already paid for the upgrade to Auria Pro, which I can't completely use in iOS10 for the moment. I'm $75 in on AP now.
I'm not a tune-generating musician. Not messing around with midi compositions. I'm playing with weird soundscapes, strange noises, and applications for video/cinema, etc. Is there anything in Cubasis that would be of use to someone like me? I'm thinking that for video stuff... if I was going to buy another DAW, that latest Meteor Multitrack Recorder would make more sense. Am I wrong?
Something tells me I don't need any more DAWs at the moment and to just be patient for Auria Pro to update for iOS10, and I'll be set. Tempted by the sale though, but I'm wondering if that's the ONLY thing that's really tempting me.
I have both and Cubasis is my go to first. AP Pro for final
but you're more of a tune-smith though aren't you? I'm not and it frankly doesn't interest me much.
Is there something in the Cubasis DAW that's more accommodating and compelling for non-traditional-musician types, than what AP Pro offers?
Me too, as many here have said.
It's a well spent $25. And you never have to buy any plugins because they're kind of lame and Cubasis accepts AU.
ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US....
I like plug-ins fab filter for a fraction of a fraction of DT price.
Ok, for those of you who have both... (particularly those who are more into sound design and slightly less into writing/composing music)... if you had to dump one of these DAWs for space, would you dump Cubasis or Auria Pro?
Looks like Cubasis clocks in at 900MB and AP is 1.3GB without the demo tune.
Auria Pro will be updated next week for iOS10 according to Rim. I'll telling this just in case you didn't know yet.
I installed Cubasis on both my ipad 4 and Ipad Air 2, it installed 32 bit and 64 bit versions, respectively. I noticed on the ipad 4 that long midi notes skip, this is using the built-in midi instruments, like strings, for example. If I have 4 bars, one note per bar it would skip the second and fourth notes on playback, especially if looped. This doesn't happen on the ipad Air 2. CUP usage was low. I searched before posting this and couldn't find anything even on the Cubasis forum. Anyone else experience this? I recreated the issue with a brand new project.
Tempting. I've invested a LOT of time and money into Auria Pro and I love it. But Cubasis is no slouch either, and already supports AU. I can easily envision a scenario, for instance, with Cubasis as a jingle factory and Auria as my "I'm making the world's finest iOS album" DAW
Plus I have an iRig HD, assuming the Cubasis LE to pro upgrade is also on sale. I think it was US $14.99 during the last half-off sale, with qualifying hardware like the iRig or Sonic Port ...
Things I'm hoping for;
Velocity sensitive built in instruments
Auto quantise
Merge cycle record mode
Groups
Improved zooming
Improved project/asset management
I suspect it won't be long now before I find out if any of that comes true!
That would be an awesome deal and will probably take place soon since the last sale like that was close the the sale of the regular Cubasis I think.
I think you need both. I'm serious.
Didn't know, thanks for the heads up.
I have both and don't regret it.
