Jason, how are your own samples getting on in this app? Do they blend as seamlessly as the dev's samples seem to, ie. as if there's some built-in crossfade between each change in instrument?
so how feasible would it be to use Blocs to set all your loops to the same key etc... then load them up in moodscaper and moodscap'em, I'd do it with beats, transitions, vocals, and everything else?
Hi there @skiphunt ...I haven't ventured quite as far as uploading my own samples... I might give it a try via iTunes; though it'd be a bit easier via AudioShare or DB or even iCloud...

I'll let you know...

Edit:
If you import your own sounds moodscaper applies its own attack release decay etc.:
From the manual
"Something else to consider is that moodscaper applies its gentle attack and release / decay envelope to all sounds. While this may become tweakable in the future, it’s something to consider when you’re designing your own moodscaper sounds. So again, and sorry to bang on about what moodscaper currently isn’t, but one-shot percussive pattern(ing) type samples are best handled by another app - wink-wink."
I'd like to know this too.
I added/replaced the 'sounds' folder from moodscaper website via iTunes as instructed, but It seems the numbers referring to the different soundsets don't appear.
I'm not sure if they are simply added to the existing 'factory' sounds or should be selectable independently.
Think we're going to require some intervention from the @moodscaper God on this one...

Yep, it would be good to know. Tried gently tapping pad as advised here, and couldn't change anything.
Hi Folks,
Seems I’ve got a bit of catching-up to do here! :-)
OK… Importing sounds. I know iTunes is a pain, but it does work. Kinda… Things to check:
Make sure you unzip / uncompress the folder before you copy it to the moodscaper documents section. Also, best not to rename these folders until you’ve digested how the naming conventions work.
You need to re-start the app for it to pick up the new sounds, and if all is working, the sound sets will appear as additional moods, but with numbers above them.
Try going through the steps in the manual again, and if you’re still having problems, message me via moodscaper.com and we’ll work through it together.
On the topic of AB support, it isn’t really a case of it being low on the list, but I admit, it’s not requested as often as some other things, especially after IAA was added. Anyway, I’m sure I’ve mentioned a few times that timing-wise, it doesn’t really make sense for me to invest time in supporting AB2 when AB3 is just (?) round the corner. My understanding is that AB3 is pretty much a new thing, right?
The thing is, everyone HATES iTunes with a passion. Personally, I just don't want the hassle of using it. So, when time permits, if you could add Dropbox support that would be wonderful.
As for AB3, if Moodscaper works with that, those of us who want to use it that way would be very happy.
Keep up the great work!
+1 - I'd put better sample import top of any forthcoming updates list, iTunes is a dogs dinner to work with. Audioshare compatibility would be my personal favourite.
I've heard the iTunes "experience" isn't so good if you're not on macOS. I find it bearable on macOS, but then again, I've used it a lot and intensively when messing about with Animoog timbres and Borderlands Granular scenes.
It's good that you've reminded me about Dropbox actually as I was going to look into a way of downloading the custom sounds directly from within the app. You may have noticed the links on the site are actually Dropbox links, so... there's no reason why that couldn't be extended to looking at your own or shared Dropbox folders. I really like Audioshare too, and from the looks of things, seems to be the easiest 3rd party integration of them all.
Will take another run at importing your 'sounds' via itunes. I believe I followed the instructions precisely and one or two 'numbered' thingies came up, but no more. Having said that maybe I missed an instruction as my attention span -look a chicken!
Dropbox would be nice, Audioshare (for me) even more so.... thanks for checking in on us...
@moodscaper Thanks. I tried again through iTunes and now the magic numbers show up in the mood list.
I think my mistake might of been that I extracted the sounds.zip file to a folder called 'sounds' and added that to iTunes documents, rather than the subfolder (also called 'sounds') within that folder.
That seems like a vaguely incoherent sentence, but might help if anyone else had the same issue.
Maybe rename the zip file to 'additional soundbanks.zip' or similar to avoid this confusion?
Anyway thanks again for the help.
This was on a windows system btw, I don't know how others find the experience but the main problem on my PC with iTunes is the laggy/unresponsive interface when navigating.
If you've downloaded all the sounds, you get three sets at the moment. Doesn't sound much, but that's actually over 800 lovingly crafted samples
So after cycling through the standard moods of light, dark, space, happy and sad, you should see:
01 - sad (modular Model 15 / iVCS3 type sounds)
02 - light (electric guitar)
03 - dark (orchestral)
Hope that helps.
+1 for AudioShare preference & top of list![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Ah. I did the same. Will revisit. Thanks for the tip Mister Spoon.
another vote for audioshare open in/export to if it's not there already, I just bought the app and audioshare is crucial
And another vote here
Add my +1.
Great sound sets, mate, and the app just keeps getting better and better!
BTW, I installed the sounds by using iFunbox and dragging the three (unzipped) folders into the (existing) 'Sounds' directory within the app. Dead simple. (Also awaiting Audioshare connectivity.)
are you using ifunbox with a jailbroken or non-jailbroken device?
Ok finally succumbed. Cool. But uh. How's it work???
Non-jailbreak... gave up on that years ago.
You can also message me directly from there for a quicker response if there's anything that's not clear and I'll do my best to help. Cheers, -Rob
I will check there.
I was enjoying the sounds, but it felt a little like playing Myst for the first time, all the inscrutable runes, some of which would launch lovely sounds. Sometimes?
