does rotor have a drum kit module?

Has a "Wave Based" sampler module, in which a sample can be assigned to each note (to be played on a keyboard interface, or sequenced on a piano roll). Possible to build a wav based drum kit, or multi sampled instrument.

The Soundfont erosion of the module can be loaded with drum kits SFs, several of ship with the app...

    thanks LW

inevitablty there are some release bugs, mainly from using imported samples, a few crashes but for a v1.0 it's pretty tight.

Look forward to audiocopy. But due to lack of this I finally got around to working ifunbox over wifi and it works pretty well....

I'm not a musician like you are (at least I seem to recall you are) but even to my non-musician ears, that "Automatic Tonalizer" seems fairly sophisticated and accurate.

My background is Design/Art but I enjoy being a multi practitioner. ;)
I couldn't call myself a musician as I dont have the training but yes I'm finding the Tonalyser to be pretty sophisticated too :)

  • anyone know how long the intro price last?

  • I received an email from Andrés: Kotor 1.1 has been approved. We can import audio from other apps very soon:-)Well done

    More modules will be great!

No IAP yet but this is nice:

  • is this video hiding in the 6 pages of comments somewhere? Couldn't find it. Still not sure if I want this one or not. hmmmmm....

  • Question, this guy plugs his guitar into his ipad and controls Rotor with it. Is this done through midi? Does it automatically detect it? it's right at the end of the video where he talks about that and demonstrates a few notes.

  • @High5denied that's not MIDI. There's an audio input module that allows you to use ROTOR as an effects unit essentially.

Cool Beans. I got it so Ima gonna try it. :)

  • Getting a crash on AIr 2 9.3.1 when selecting the sample in the browser. Seems fine on ios 10 on my mini 2 though.

  • edited November 2016

@Carnbot Finding the same crash on the same hardware/software.

That said, I just got this app today, and I'm in love. I have the old Reactable mobile app and this is a totally different animal. Way more deep and wide--and a superior UX. I just wasted an hour running loops through the polyphonic sequencer and could easily do it for another hour.

My favorite loopmakers, that export directly to ACP, are back in play: iSequence, Beatmaker2, iMPC Pro, Tabletop

  • is there ever going to be an update to Isequence?

I still have hope but there's no real basis for it. Meanwhile it's a perfect loop factory for Rotor, as are Stroke Machine, Tabletop, iMPC pro, iElectibe, BM2, iKaossilator, TriqTraq. Old school General Pasteboard rules...

  • I sent audio(open in) from Loopy -- but can't find the file on ROTOR

    Where are imported audio files?

The new files will be in "Imported" when you open a sample object and browse the list...at least it went there when I tried open in from AudioShare.

Sample Object = the things played in the Loop rotor?

    Sorry for baby talk.

  • Yep the Loop object

  • Putting in a vocal loop and slaving it to the AutoTonalizer yields all kinds of weird goodness. Anyone else try this yet? Love it...

I use more than one master track and switch between them. It's fun how the loop change:-)

Oh wow! Hadn't contemplated multiple master tracks... There goes my evening.
