  • Mixbus is a nice daw for mixing, it's based on ardour which is free, find the workflow is quite good after I've imported stems, not used it for track creation yet. There are two versions, normal one and the 32c which has a very nice eq, but is thirsty, it's like using a mixing desk more than a daw, haven't tried it on touch screens tho. They usually do a few sales in the year, seen the normal one go down to 25 quid.

  • Just another opinion
Cubase Elements is an excellent choice and great value, particularly if you can obtain a copy of Cubase LE or AI that comes packaged with various products and upgrade from there. (~£30 if I recall correctly)

That's exactly what I did. Bought Cubase LE (plus Wavelab LE) on Ebay for about $20 and then upgraded to Cubase Elements for another $50. Saved $30 and spent it on Cubasis when it was on sale. Very happy with both products :)

I'm interested in doing that. It sounds awesome to be able to bring my ios projects to the desktop like that.

  • Ableton is great, also has Link

Reason is great too, interesting Rack paradigm and also has Link

Harrison Mixxbuss sounds fantastic and supports VST and would be a great was to work on final mix downs from AuriaPro

  • I wish Ableton allowed to upgrade from Live Lite to Intro - I could use more tracks and scenes while I keep saving money for Live Standard or Suite
