In the promo picture is a grand piano. Could this be an AU piano app? A new sound set for auxy? Let the wild speculation begin!

  • Maybe It's a physically modelled Piano with no samples?

That would be absolutely amazing!! Kind of doubt Auxy has the know how to do that, but one can dream!

gotta be a new soundpack. Auxy Pack number 1. They've been saying new sounds are on their way forever. Hopefully it's not JUST pianos.

Ah yes, there's nothing like a good congress via "AudioPus" , I always say.

  • Or maybe, just maybe it will have midi control in and AB. There's a lot of good sounds for keyboard players in there.

You're going to need Betadine and a band-aid as well.

  • @Tarekith it's on the Auxy Facebook page

Specially as cat, right ! ;)

  • I like the confidence in the naming, planning hundreds of them ...

  • If they make it to 002 they'll be one better than ikaossilator.

  • Or, I just thought about the 001. Could be a reference to binary. As in a totally synthetic piano.

Are you running out of space Samu?

  • i hope it sounds good

  • They've been hinting at new piano sounds on their Instagram for a few months now.

I remember reading an interview with Henrik Lenberg who suggested that sound packs were the obvious choice to monetize the app so I'd suggest AP-001 is the first of those.

  • I swear it better not be just a single piano patch. Or a tiny little thing "look FOUR new sounds!"

Looks like you've got a couple of days to get those expectations in check over there :)

    Nope!
I'm just a huge fan of realtime mathematically calculated sounds and software re-creations of original hardware.

As an example I personally have no use what so ever for a giganormous sampled pianos with 88 keys and 10 layers when all I need is a few octaves in the middle with limited velocity range so I'd rather love to have a 'modelled' piano app even if it would a loads of CPU :)

I'd be happy to see them add a few more drum kits - or the option to mix and match kit elements. They have a fantastic EDM-style kit saddled with the world's most subliminal snare, and here I sit, with no "make snare louder" knob ... Still, amazed at how powerful (and useful) this app can be for actual song recording, not just as a sketch pad

  • @eustressor ain't that the truth. I think the drums in general are actually quite fantastic. (They also map perfectly when exported to midi in London Gadget). It is a pain though to have multiple kits going at once when the instrument count is limited, arbitrarily I found out, and that may change in the future.

If I remembered right the team behind Auxy is former employees from Propellerheads in Sweden - they certainly have the knowledge...

  • Go on their Instagram you can hear it for yourself

It's mostly likely a new IAP sound pack for Auxy...
    (A)uxy (P)ack - 001.

sounds to me it's likely to be samples as also the first image would suggest with all the mics around the piano, maybe AP is for acoustic piano but Auxy Pack makes a lot of sense too because of the 001

  • Oh so it's multiple piano sounds. Actually pretty awesome as sometimes you just want to grab a versatile instrument sound to write the parts, then switch them out later

  • "For AP–001, we’ve worked with Grammy awarded mix engineer Niklas Flyckt to bring piano sounds to Auxy. Available Thursday."

  • 2 out of 10. AP–001 drops tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/Zw5pb04dwg
