I think I figured it out. The image shows 2 out of 10 of the new sounds. Duh!

  • I hope that a few of those 10 will be electronic pianos

  • I hope there's some small general app improvements as well

  • edited November 2016

me too, pianos don't sound that great on grid and without a lot of velocity variance imo

  • Looks like they are showing two patches out of the (I assume) 10 that will be in the pack.

  • mh, if they introduce a quality piano to auxy, I wonder if that means auxy will get midi in and/or an onscreen keyboard?

I've told them about 3 times it needs a playing surface. My suggestion was to just have a thing where you toggle the piano roll to a live playing mode, so you just tap around right there in the same screen, Thumbjam/Kaoss pad style. We can only hope.

  • I would LOVE to see some type of playing surface.

  • it is hard to imagine someone selling a high quality piano without a way of playing it!
but auxy has surprised us before. we will probably know more today ...

Must be a kind of rating scheme.

If they're only rating it 2 out of 10, I wonder what we'll rate it? :D

  • Two new instruments, eight more to come?

  • edited November 2016

Update is in. Strangely no mention of new samples/instruments. Just bug fixes and better export of videos to instagram.

Edit. Version 3.0 update instantly followed with new sound pack and other incremental improvements, but nothing groundbreaking.

  • it looks like a piano sample pack, and a couple other features to the grid.

  • Surely someone's jumped in here...? :)

  • @JohnnyGoodyear 10 piano sounds, 4.99. Can crank the delay higher (a curious addition), transpose patterns up and down an octave, and you can also choose "soft" notes- basically a lower velocity. The sounds are good.

There's still midi export. All in all Auxy is a very nice sketch pad and I can't deny that the interface is very well designed so it's easy to spend some time in there. They say this is the first of "regular" soundpacks. Hopefully more regular than a year and some change intervals.

Now goddammit add a playing surface!

  • Older iPads are not supported anymore

  • I find it hard to get too enthusiastic about this without knowing where they are going with the soundpacks. if they had also added a cello and choirs for example it would be a different thing.
and yes, a keyboard or some midi in to play the pianos would help sell it to me

  • Wait, which Auxy do I want? The one I have isn't offered an update. I'm in a panic that I HAVE THE WRONG AUXY!. (Which I never use anyway, but I said that about my new BFF, TriqTraq....)

Agreed on the surface. Have you (or anyone?) actually heard/played the new pianos? Any good?

  • @JohnnyGoodyear yeah they sound good to me, but I'm not an expert on piano tones. The demo track you hear on the preview of the pack is actually in the app to be looked at, so if you like that

    Ah ha....thanks boss....

  • Well, if it's the signature pianos on Britney Spears tracks, how could one resist? ;) Next, they'll release a sample pack of the singer who sings the Britney Spears tracks. Here's a hint, her name and image may be different....

  • (Of course) I picked the pack up. Nothing special (sorry) piano-wise. Can fiddle with what they have with individual tone/delays etc and that helps. Not in the Module/iSymph realm, but probably unfair to think they would be (Britney Spears to one side). However, it does make an easy sketch place even more easier for the easy sketching and thus am not unhappy by any means...

Used to work fine on my iPad 2. Now, iTunes says the new version is not compatible with my ipad. Probably because it's 64-bit only

  • Ok. Thanks.

  • On Facebook, dev said the countdown for the next pack would be "soon" so hopefully this will pick up steam and revenue and they can add more stuff

You're right, 64-bit only as it's not compatible with ipad 4 either.
