Here's my question from this thread - how do you have apps working on that iPod touch? I have my kids old one as a backup for some synths and amp Sims to use live, or so I thought, but everything is crashing on it - apps start but never make it to a full start for the most part. Sampletank still runs, sunrizer sometimes, and ampkit (but I haven't bought their bass amps, not much in there), but jamup immediately crashes. I'm wondering if a restore is in order.

Mine is a 4th gen running iOS 6.1.6. I have dozens of music making apps on it, but I haven't tried them all lately.

I have all the ones you mentioned except AmpKit installed, so I can test them out if you want. JamUp Pro does not crash on me.

I have the same, so it sounds like I should restore it. It's just for backup and I have used it live with sunrizer for synth bass when I was in an 80's band last year (it nails "dress you up" and "words"). Now I can't seem to find the irig keys 30 pin cable, so it may not even serve that purpose, although it could be used with the studioconnect.

  • 1.9.3 is up and at 'em.

  • Yep, ED is back. Nice effort from the dev. Thanks.

Hi, that was a mistake from my side, I somehow accidentally changed some settings. Another update is on it's way ...

Thanks a lot for fixing it so quickly! Works as a charm now, and with sample import ED now represents the best of both worlds.

There's a small glitch though. When I first select any sample and ED loads the file and its waveform and tries to play it, it sounds distorted. When I just tap the waveform of an already selected sample, it sounds fine. Well, can't say that it bothers me much, and it may not be a bug at all. My old ipad is real slow and it may be the reason for this glitch, but if someone else reports it too maybe it's worth looking into.

I'm just very dissatisfied with the way ED made the switch - releasing a new version with major changes and then making the next bug-fix release 64-bit only meaning that I won't receive any bug fixes and that those popups on every startup are going to stay and annoy me forever. Not cool, @magnum38, not cool.

@yug, when the initial sampler update was released, it was compatible with 32bit devices, but, as you say , the next 'bug fix' broke it. It took several releases to the beta testing community to resolve the issue. But, it has been resolved. I am running ED again on my iPhone 4s. Check the latest version again.
