It might be best to see what the BeatHawk update looks like and what UVI misses. I think it will be good, but not the MPC style drum machine that puts the rest to shame.
Filtatron. It tastes good on everything.
Completely agree with this. This app just sounds really good to my ears.
Was an impulse buy for me. Never could get next to it.
So, what is your favorite MPC "style" drum app?
I am for the first time digging actually IMPC due to nifty little bluetooth MIDI controller that makes it cool and easy to play while using my other apps in Audiobus on a keyboard.
Beat Hawk is interesting to me. I make great music on it, I just don't seem to feel good doing it.
Like sex with an ex.
Has your friend seen https://www.paintcodeapp.com?
You first. I want to know what you don't like about Beat-Machine.
From my own observations, I believe the iMPCs are the most popular in iOS land, but DM1 is the most popular on this forum.
Funny isn't it? I love this thing. I find it a complete creativity boost...
Yes it is @JohnnyGoodyear. I think I remember you saying that you were never quite able to get on with Loopy but for me it's usually my first choice for AB output.
Maybe if I could see it in action. Know of any good demos?
What would be a fair comparison to Infinite Looper? Is it sort of like Gadget's sequencer and scenes?
AUM - essential.
Agree too. I don't use it much, as it's not really ideal for what I'm doing at the moment, but really impressed with what it offers sound wise for those genres listed above.
ZMors Modular..............
This app is amazing.
Such a shame it is not Audiobus compatible and only on the IPAD.
Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I don't use DM1 anymore. The samples used are of different quality and therefore fluctuate in CPU use on my IPAD. I need to know exactly where my % are going to be since I do mostly 1 take live recordings or performances only.
I find that Beat Hawk may have nearly the best sound quality consistently of samples on a drum app. Unfortunately, they screwed up with the MIDI implementation the second time they monkeyed with it. I still think that app is really a quality work station. More so with the coming update. If you like the iMPC app you will dig it.
For the first time ever, I am currently using the actual iMPC app. Mainly because it has MIDI learn so I can assign the pads. I use a wireless MIDI controller for this app.
I then use my MIDI keyboard for synths and controlling other apps.
I love iMaschine as well. Lack of MIDI is offset with LINK so that is always valuable. I find the latest IAP's amazing in the last several months for my taste.
I just never gave Beat Machine time because of all these.
I also havent gave the Sampletank Pro pads and sounds a proper go yet either.
I would like to add NAVISCHORD to the list of apps needing love.
What a great little tool that is.
Those are all great apps, but they all have they're limitations. Beat-Machine is universal, so there are no separate apps like DM1. iMaschine is universal, but the iTunes sharing and audio file format limitations are unattractive to me.
BeatHawk is too big at 1 GB. I hope it has been put on a diet for version 2.
As for iMPC, I'll refer you to this thread.
I don't own DM1. I think I was somewhat put off that the developers were doing other things like games. Then the original DM1 development team broke up. One of them is now developing DM2. DM1 looks like it is in "maintenance mode," with only bug fixes coming and no improvements.
Don't know what the current/best of videos would be but I'm sure @SecretBaseDesign could chime in on that...
For the record (which no one is keeping) I should add that I have finally become comfortable with Loopy, it is a great thing, however, as I am not a skilled player (getting better but only very slowly ) the ability to fix my noise in IL is a major plus. Actually, while they both play loops I guess, I don't think they're at all apples to apples. I just find IL a great way to come up with melody pieces/lines....
Hi, what kind of wireless midi controller do you use with IMPC?
T C - D a t a
Echo Pad
Come on man, does anyone even own this? It's an amazing delay+ app. Could use an update to part of the UI to catch up with the rest of the holderness apps though.

I know it is not a complex multi-teer controller, but for what i need it for........best device I got in a loooonngg time.
I am able to play all the pads (8 velocity sensitive) and have a slider for the effects.
It is like having a video game controller in your hands. And it is fun. Being able to rock out and be able to jump around when the mood is right.
Also, it is small enough to control while playing chords on my MIDI keyboard.
I also use this controller for Navischord.
Great little item for the $.
+1
Came onto my radar with early support for AU hosting. Still very unique what can be done with AUs inside of it. If I understand correctly AUM could be used to help with Audiobus integration. But yeah, if it was universal, I'd definitely buy. Looks like it was recently updated for the big iPad, maybe they'll find a way to stuff it into the phone too
Thanks! Another universal FM synth! Are there others? I'm only aware of FRUM and the awesome Phasemaker, which just went universal (like anyone here didn't already know, heh)
Caustic is severely underrated. and it works great on old devices.
No new videos on IL, but I might get off my duff in the next few weeks.
For apps that don't get enough love --
Chordion. All of the Olympia Noise apps are gorgeous. Patterning gets a lot of well deserved love, but Chordion holds a special place in my heart. I wish I could steal Ben's magical sense of the right colors. He could put a single square on the screen, and it would be the most beautiful square ever put on a screen.
And Flying Haggis. It's the guitar effects app that lets me sound like me.
Both of these.
Especially Chordion.
I would love to see my favorite indie devs collaborate on a project, but I realize that's a tall order.
I can never disagree with anything from Mr. SecretBase. The Haggis is absolutely my favorite, despite the best efforts of many other apps.
