@JeffChasteen wins.
well played
I’m still looking for a pro sampler app where I can build patches from 2 or 3 layers with full envelope control, a virtual “rack sampler”. Fingers crossed x
I still would be happy with a full EXS24 in GarageBand iOS with a multi-touch optimized modern GUI.
Just saw a thread at V.I.Control (mainly for composers for media and film) that the score of Saw (the latest) which was mainly made with EXS24
It´s even not such a complicated and complex tool. Ipads and iPhones could run it easy.
1) I'd want as much off screen control as possible: meaning midi mapping so that I could sample what ever else I would be using on screen.
2) If there is more than 1 sampling channels I'd like them all to have dedicated outpux e.g. like each of Patterning's channels can.
3) If it has a MIDI sequencer it would either need full AB3.
Long overdue
I want an Vsynth, thanks.
@brambos has probably got one in dev
Just thought I would drop some BM3
my ultimate sampler would be kontakt combined with Xequence. plus a rack of some nice in app effects
@Samu : Do you use BM3?
Yeah, I try to give it a some daily attention hunting bugs and other issues, currently testing 3.0.4 Beta #2...
I have a pretty firm grip on the app and it's current capabilities. I'm no 'musician' but more of a tech-geek interested in things that go BEEP!
Any idea how close the iphone version is?
I have unfortunately no insight on the priorities in the development plan but it doesn’t hurt to send a mail to Mathieu and ask. I do feel that they are super busy squashing bugs and digging thru the user requests.
I'm on the beta team and waiting for the very first beta to drop..........it hasn't yet.
Thanks guys....kinda hoping this will fill the sampler void that Gadget has left
I'm honestly still hoping Korg will deliver in this area at some point.
I mean they have been doing touch-based sample-editing since the Triton series with the latest incarnation being in the Korg Kronos and my first ever hardware sampler (If I don't count the GSS-8 for my Amiga) was the Korg ES-1.
At least Gadget's now got more import option for samples now but still no 'play the sample across the keyboard' feature and that could be something the Bilbao could 'blessed' with if I could make a wish...
Have you used Caustic? For IPhone that's about as good as it can get. Also BM2.
I’m hoping for this at NAMM 2018
All I want is already in BM3... I'm a really happy mofo
Happy for you mofo!
I just think the spreadsheets at Korg see it as a bad move. All design decisions likely run the gauntlet of ‘don’t hurt our IAP model’, ‘stay within the walls’, ‘Clash of Clans doesn't have a sampler’ etc. So glad that BM3 seems all about the power of the core apps features.
Hehe, that's one way to see it. I've actually enjoyed using Garageband for the last couple of days messing around with creating live-loops using the instruments and focusing on 'whats there' instead of 'what's missing'.
BM3 3.0.4 Beta #4 just dropped and there are some super neat additions to the piano-roll making things way smoother!(3.0.3 feels like a big DOH! in comparison)
I've fed all of my current ideas and requests and suggestions to the developers and it's become increasingly harder to come up with new
(It's like a 'suspense thriller' waiting and seeing which ones make it into the app).
Gadget will always have a place on my iPad or at least until iM1, Module, Odysseyi, iMono/Poly and iWaveStation become AUv3's...
Some very nice instruments there now.
Woah, the 3.03 update was a Shwing! for me. The slice selection polish was huge for me.
Same here!
There's more to come in that department if they choose to implement some of my requests...
Like an option to 'auto trim' the slices when slicing to pads with optional export of slices as individual samples and 'REX-Style' time-stretching which in practice is a built-in slice-trigger pattern among other things.
Mildly put the list of feature request that was built up during the beta is massive.
Roland is** NOT **embracing IOS, as they usually ignore new technology, or they fear it will cut into there roland web thing an harware sales ..so iVSynth is never coming as it stands...
everything is ROLAND Proprietary... everything... COSM Effects! COSM filters & Amps, an variphrase sample manipulation which is kinda like granular...but has a different spin on it. If you do buy the VSynth make sure its the first one so you can run 2.0 and 1.5 as they both offer a different sound. The reason I suggested the original keyboard version is because theres knobs for every function...plus time trip, plus beam...where as the rack is not as functional live...neither is the v-synth-gt.
As far as Beatmaker3 being the sampler of everyone's dreams...it still has a few things to go for me to really say WOW
1. groove slicing to groove template (lpx, reason, an live)
2. format compatibility with sfz an sf2 (LPX etc)
3. rex (this is a license, so i ont believe we'll see this one)(reason)
4. note/pitch detect of samples (nearly all good samplers)
5. formant/pitch/time...right now its pitch time, but formant makes a big difference (almost vsynth/sampletank)
6. better audio tools for audio tracks...(ie MPC LIVE)
7. BM3 is reeeeaaaally close to being a full synth/sampler...hopefully this evelops further
8.
Formant would be ace.
That might come if/when they decide to license Elastique Pro. Currently BM3 is using Elastique Efficient...
