    Formant would be ace.

That might come if/when they decide to license Elastique Pro. Currently BM3 is using Elastique Efficient...

I have become quite accustomed to Elastique Pro in Samplitude. Quite accustomed. (Fans self and sips mint julep)

  • I got Serato Sample the other day it’s 25% off at present. I love to see that come to iOS what it does it does really well.

  • I'm going to open a can of worms and say that The original IMPC had nearly everything anyone could want in a sampler... except a SONG MODE... @Retronyms we remember >:)

Oh really? One could not delete (still can't) the samples one recorded without connecting it to a computer ;)

    @Samu : Do you use BM3?

Yeah, I try to give it a some daily attention hunting bugs and other issues, currently testing 3.0.4 Beta #2...
I have a pretty firm grip on the app and it's current capabilities. I'm no 'musician' but more of a tech-geek interested in things that go BEEP! :)

Any idea how close the iphone version is?

I'm on the beta team and waiting for the very first beta to drop..........it hasn't yet.

Thanks guys....kinda hoping this will fill the sampler void that Gadget has left

Have you used Caustic? For IPhone that's about as good as it can get. Also BM2.

Yeah i have Caustic but it doesnt have Ableton link. The way i want to use it is synced to Gadget via link so i can then record into loopy and import to the gadget tape player thingy.

BM2 dropbox import no longer works and the app is not optimised so there are graphical glitches and when linked with Audiobus it was producing audio glitches so i deleted it whilst muttering expletives to myself.

iMaschine 2 seems to be the best option at present but its extremely limited in terms of sample editing options.

    Piss poor really.

If it had link and the ability to record in at the same time as listening to the playback it would be a solid app

Roland is** NOT **embracing IOS, as they usually ignore new technology, or they fear it will cut into there roland web thing an harware sales ..so iVSynth is never coming as it stands...
everything is ROLAND Proprietary... everything... COSM Effects! COSM filters & Amps, an variphrase sample manipulation which is kinda like granular...but has a different spin on it. If you do buy the VSynth make sure its the first one so you can run 2.0 and 1.5 as they both offer a different sound. The reason I suggested the original keyboard version is because theres knobs for every function...plus time trip, plus beam...where as the rack is not as functional live...neither is the v-synth-gt.

As far as Beatmaker3 being the sampler of everyone's dreams...it still has a few things to go for me to really say WOW
    1. groove slicing to groove template (lpx, reason, an live)
    2. format compatibility with sfz an sf2 (LPX etc)
    3. rex (this is a license, so i ont believe we'll see this one)(reason)
    4. note/pitch detect of samples (nearly all good samplers)
    5. formant/pitch/time...right now its pitch time, but formant makes a big difference (almost vsynth/sampletank)
    6. better audio tools for audio tracks...(ie MPC LIVE)
    7. BM3 is reeeeaaaally close to being a full synth/sampler...hopefully this evelops further
    8.

I don’t expect it from Roland, I don’t expect nothing related to sampling from them

We should be happy that Caustic at least has AudioShare import. I get the developer is independent but if he wanted to he could double the price for making Caustic AU and Audiobus compatible and I'd happily pay for it on the spot. Unfortunately the likelihood of that happening is close to zero hence why I'm also angrily muttering about it here. And yes NI missed the mark in a big way too but... $1 sound packs.

Caustic is a great all-in-one app with amazing capabilities. Unfortunately, there has been zero communication from the dev since the 3.2 update. It's a shame because it has a lot to offer.

  • Beatmaker 2 update saves the day

  • BM3 is fantastic... I just hope (stronger each time I use it) they they add the possibility to change edit parameters (pitch, attack, gain, reso filter, ...) on several pads at once (or at least on a full bank), that would be magical (and save hours on my side lol).

I'm just lazy and use the macro-knobs for that for those pads that need adjustments at the same time :)
But yeah, editing/syncing multiple pads at once will come and it's long overdue already...
(3.0.4 should be out soonish with some neat additions).
