thanks for the fast feedback & great customer service ;) yes it seems like the pitched tone is totally independent from the oscillators or resonance.. its just there as soon as i press play..

I can see it now in my spectrum analyzer, although for some reason it's not really present on my monitors. I think I need to work on my room layout in the studio (or you did a particularly good job on yours) 8-]

There's half a dozen filters going on in the signal path, so I'm tracing it back now to the culprit.

when listening on a low level volume i wouldn't notice it, but when cranking it quite loud it became noticable, mostly when i'm recording things i have span on screen as default to see any hidden things i may be missing with my ears..
btw: have you been doing all those free smartelectronix vsts back in the days?

No, that was another Bram. I was the HammerHead Bram, although I seem to remember I had some email exchanges with SmartElectronix' Bram back then. Music on the PC was a pretty small scene back then, much like music on iOS today.

  • Yah!....... A wet dream come true!........ ;)

oh i see, the hammerhead rhythm station.. nice one!

  • Yea, that was one of the earliest music programs I played with!

  • downloaded...what a beautiful interface. 2017 is already a success!!

  • This thing is great. It's stupid easy to get something musical going with Figure or Patterning.

It's a long way from my days making dubious noise with an Atari ST. A good time to be a musician, especially an iOS musician.

Ok purchased. Is there a way to enter steps in the sequencer using a midi keyboard ? Just curious.

Edit:- seems to be the answer is no. @Brambos. Any chance we could get this as an added feature ? Would make the sequencer super amazing.

Yeah, using it as AUv3 in your favourite sequencer :)
    (Sorry could not resist).

Actually I think midiSTEPs from Art Kerns would do pretty much that; a mini AU host where you can record MIDI keys in sequence and add accents and ties.

Yeah, midiSTEPs is nice but it's a bit tedious when multiple keys per step is needed.(Ruismaker/Rusimaker FM etc.). But for bass, arps and melody-lines it's very good.

Hope midiSTEPs gets Link some day too.

I own midi steps. And you have a point that i can use it in there :D I just would prefer your sequencer just because it can export midi clips. Would love to just quickly jot out a ton of midi clips I can import into my pc daw when I get home or into modstep etc.

    +1 this
And I'd like to be be able to easily sync the sequencer with external gear like my circuit. MIDI Clock or IAA sync would do it :)

  • I would like a timeline in Troublemaker 2.0 :D

  • @brambos Congrats on another solid release! Just a minor UI glitch I noticed when using it as an AU: The wave display will take ~5s to update after changing presets when used as an AU. Tested both on Cubasis and AUM. iPad Air, iOS 10.2.

I noticed this as well, but it seems to be something weird in iOS's extension hosting system. It delays custom GUI (or gives them very low priority) - probably to give maximum cpu to the audio thread. I'll need to doublecheck with Apple what's going on, but I couldn't influence it on my end.

  • Awesome app! Makes me proud to be Dutch.

Yes, makes up for all those other things. ;)

  • this thing is great! sounds fantastic.

  • ^^Agree Well done @brambos

Is the step sequencer screen portion able to take multitouch input, to, for instance, change multiple step pitch at the same time, or even tying mutiple notes with one 4 finger swipe down? Would be awesome.

I would also like to see at least a couple of sequence bank save/recall on the fly. And is it AB Remote controllable? Is there automation record in the standalone version?

Don't want to break the party here, but I expect those kind of feature from an 13.99$can app. I can't help thinking about triktrack which is cheaper and has all those features and more.

    Troublemaker seems nice though...

  • Just got and played 5 mins. Lovely. Can't wait til later to play more.

A swing function would be a nice little addition don't you think?

    Hahaha, true!

  • @Philippe Would love automation, that's true...but also, let's not forget, we are so used to Mister Bram doing his thing, this is STILL a 1.0 :)

Thanks for the details, @brambos! As always, your responsiveness is greatly appreciated, keep up the great work!

    Yes to this too

  • Pattern probability would be amazing, as @Goozoon proposes... Come to think of it, how many iOS sequencers use pattern probability or some kind of "smart randomization"?

  • @Goozoon said:
    or:

    That's nice.

  • Just been messing about and I want 64 steps already :D
