Just been messing about and I want 64 steps already :D

    Yeah that'd be nice.

Just recorded a couple of jams with it - nothing as good as Jakob was doing but vaguely decent.

Unless I'm missing it is there no way to save/load a voice patch?

  • I'm very grateful at anything that is put in front of me at the dinner table. :)

  • Swing would be cool for jamming but i would be waiting for after importing into the daw to do that 99% of the time, so i can swing to the music and tweak it better. Same as automation. The whole pont of this is to evolve automation. Not automate 16 steps and loop that for 5 minutes.

Price is perfect. I feel i spent 5 for a great sound and 5 for a great sequencer made for this but i can see using it for other things.

+2. for regular use anything more than 16 wouldn't sound kosher i guess but since there are different wave forms, and lfo's etc we can always do more right? something like a pattern page like the elektrons.

Can anyone tell me what the lfo does exactly? Seems to act on the amp, or cutoff frequency. Would be nice if it was deeper and could go faster than one cycle per step and reach the audio frequency.
    Bpm scrolling would be welcome.

It moves the cutoff point up and down the current envelope modulation range (which depends on the current setting of the envmod knob and the cutoff knob). So with higher envmod/cutoff settings the effect is stronger than with lower settings.

The way you can enter accurate Pitch Bend in the sequencer just by tying 2 notes is really powerful, and one of the best things about the original 303, being able to make patterns longer than 16 steps would be awesome as I could get some really nice bass and lead lines done (I'm talking about writing the notes not the sound/automation) using just this rather than having to do them in bits and then exporting to DAW (which i won't necessarily be running)

  • @brambos. can we has 64step uberpro mode please ?
    i know its not in a 303. but this isnt a 303 afterall is it ? :p

Another thing that would be nice, is if there was a numeric option next to the transpose buttons - to act as a basic sequencer. So you could dial in 7 plays of the base octave, then 1 play of an octave, or semitone change, then it'd loop back to the beginning.

The transpose feature takes it to another level for me - does it much better than Gadget - so a way to automate changes would be great if possible.

Just did a 180 bpm Troublemaker/ElasticDrums track. Dance to that if you dare

wow, 180. even 130 feels fast to me these days. ahhh age.

sucks that this came out monday morning, all i had a chance to do was play it in car line at the kid's school.

I might have been exaggerating, could have been 160. Just did a weird one at 66bpm with some linked Blocs and iVCS3 to calm myself down.

Just got clearance from Apple. We're ready for take off!

    Happy tweaking!

    Got it!

  • This may be my favourite app of 2017.

The most fun I've had for awhile just hitting the random button and tweaking from there

    Thanks Brambos

Here a screenshot from span frequency analyzer
if you could get rid of that piercing high pitched tone this app would be a perfect 10!

Found the little bugger. It was me trying to be nicer than a 303 :-D

The 303 has free running oscillators, which can cause clicks and pops at low frequency tones because there is no attack in the envelopes. You can actually hear this in the TB-303 and its analog hardware clones. It didn't like these clicks so I smoothen the amp response a little bit, but accidentally introduced a tiny hint of zipper noise in the process, which is what you spotted.

I'll be posting an update shortly.

Thanks again for pointing it out, I wish I had golden ears like you ;-)

  • Another winner @brambos.

Yup. A lot more steps would be nice and/or Song Mode, but that's just me....

  • love the app. agree more steps would be sweet. or a grid with patterns that can be played like a keyboard would be fun.

  • When I export a midi pattern, I'm not getting the note overlaps that would cause slides where I expect them. Is this by design?

  • @brambos I'm curious as to why the sequencer won't work when Troublemaker is hosted in an AU host. Is that a limitation of the AU standard on iOS, or a design choice? Thanks in advance for your response.

PS Your manuals and documentation are top notch. Really enjoyed this one even though I don't own the app (yet!!). I've read a lot of them over the years, both for gear i owned and for gear I didn't own or even intend to own... lol

Also wondering... Would much rather use the internal seq. But a work around is using it via audiobus or IAA is guess.
Was just using it in AUM this way .. With Dubfilter on a mix bus - good stuff!!!

Also have hit the random button a few times by accident when meant to hit play/stop. Lost patterns... So maybe an undo with one or two levels would be useful.

  • Finally getting the chance to play with this. Fun!

Yup. The play and stop button are very very close. I have also run afoul once or twice of wishing for at least the simplest, one step, undo....

  • +++1 for multi level undo

What are you using for opening the Midi pattern? The notes are overlapping a full 16th note length.

A swing function would be a nice little addition don't you think?

Humm, I guess I was mistaken. I must have imported the wrong loop into Auria Pro because when I tried it just now it worked fine, sorry for the false alarm.
