Ah, it's not the colon or spaces, it's actually the 'accent grave' on à. I'll see if I can fix this quickly.

    Thanks Boss!
    Your app is awesome

I fixed it, so you can import the file. However, there is an issue with the font that I'm using which will not show the name correctly in the clips. Unfortunately, I cannot solve this easily without changing font which will change looks, so I'll leave this for another update, but you should be able to import it in next update.

What are the chance of AEM opening the last project you were working on when you boot it up?

    About 80%

Also it would be really useful to be able to rescan/refresh for 3rd party midi ports. Right now it only does this at launch.

The app listens for changes in the iOS MIDI ports. Which app should I launch while AEM is active to test this?

@dwrae :Ok, so don’t update the manual, lol.. I’m getting along fine following the video (I’m on #4 now) and any anomalies in the video (2) have been answered by you here in a timely fashion.. Already added velocity to drum pads? Seriously? I’ve never seen another developer be so active and on the case here w the possible exception of @SevenSystems . You must never sleep as you seem to live and breathe this stuff .. Don’t stop now, great work..

Well, the velocity changes for drum pads took an hour to implement, so not a biggie.

  • @rs2000 : I’m just learning the app: I didn’t realize that it didn’t have that capability .. thanks for bringing this up

Mmmm. AUM didn’t used to get listed unless it was already launched when you started AEM.

    Here’s a purely positive video!

This is what MPE sounds like when it’s working!

1 Roli Noise patch (loaded as an AU) being driven from Midi recorded from my Lightblock.

Thanks @dwrae for getting multichannel midi being listened to by AUs. I can confirm this is now working nicely!

Ps any voice stealing you hear is because Roli Noise as an AU seems to have a 4 voice limit (to keep memory down I guess).

Pps it sounds even better in stereo (with different panning on different voices) but sadly iOS screen record converts to mono.

Launch AEM. Create a midi track. Then launch AUM. Then return to AEM and go to the midi output of the midi track. AUM is not given as an option.

    If we’re talking ‘please, pleases’...

At some point do you think you might consider a keyboard you can restrict to a particular scale, and restricting the piano roll to the scale (by hiding notes not in that scale)?

Basically like Gadget. Which I think is very popular with people less comfortable with knowing scales and playing piano.

    +1 for the keyboard

-1 for the auto load of last project.

Agreed -1 for auto load of last project. Means it is to automatically loads all the au’s and everything which is a waste of time if you’re starting a new project or loading a different one.

Thanks for this. Interesting to see for non-MPE users like me.
Have fun fine-tuning the CC values in piano roll :D

I can see times when having AEM open last project upon start would be useful. I can also see times when it would be better to not have it open automatically. Maybe it would be best to keep both and make it a selectable option?

Either that or a dialog that shows the recent projects and a 'new project' option, although that takes the pace out of things if you want to just fire up the app and hit that record button ASAP to capture that idea in your head.

Yeah a dialog is fine by me as long as it includes project templates too - I usually start off a project with a premade template. I hate it when DAWs load the last project automatically.

Alternatively you could have it possible in settings to choose between:

    1. Blank Project
    2. Chosen Template
    3. Last Project

When launching AEM, a nice option could be to immediately show a list of choices like this:

    • Continue with last edit (loads the last autosaved edit)
    • New project from template
    • Scrollable list of previous projects sorted by date

    Edit: @Fruitbat1919 GMTA B)

This sounds ideal tbf, similar to a lot of other apps like photoshop etc

  • I’m new to this conversation as just trying the app out.

Found so far that SynthMaster One does not reload when opening the saved project - it reverts to the Stereo Grand. Apologies if this is known already :)

I really like this idea! Except, instead of “Chosen Template”, use “Existing Project”. A template can be considered an existing project.

Each note played has independent modulation of various parameters. See https://support.roli.com/support/solutions/articles/36000027933-what-is-mpe-

  • There's a new user on another thread that has imported a MIDI file from another Application and it sounds like the tracks opened as MIDI tracks and not MIDI Instruments.

Can a MIDI Track be converted to a MIDI Instrument track and an instrument assigned using the SF2 sounds?

    as well!

When you import a MIDI file you are asked which type of tracks you want. I was going to say that long-tapping a track in Scroll mode would give an option in the menu to convert to an instrument track, but I see that I only added it on Android. Will add for next release.
