I’ll be the asshole here. Is there any good dance music at all? Yes, I’m a music snob
Well all that Detroit techno and relied that relied on 808s was made without machines with swing -- if you don't like that music fine -- it is a matter of taste -- but to millions of people that stuff was dope. It seems kind of silly to me to say something is CRIPPLED because it doesn't suit your preferences -- and to dismiss out of hand music just because it isn't to your taste.
Do you not recognize that music can be good even if it isn't something that appeals to you?
Xyn and Axon are crippled because they lack a standard feature that most of their competitors offer. Clearly the market thinks swing is a desirable feature. My question is: Why did they leave it out?
That isn't crippled. Lots of people use and love these apps. Crippled doesn't mean lacking a feature you would like -- particularly when lots and lots and lots of people are able to use them. Not all sequencers need swing.
I better cut out before people start swingin’
I prefer it not to have swing. Swing cheesy.
I do personally agree that swing is something that should always be there as an option. But thankfully there are a few very useful Mozaic scripts that can come to the rescue here, at least if you are sending midi out. But yeah - swing is super important in hip hop, the dominant music form of the last few decades, it seems quite an oversight to leave it out. Maybe ask Yuri if it could be added @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr
One more asshole here.
Ive never ever had missed swing in Xinth.
Swing plays an important part in SOME hip hop..plenty of hip hop pre-dates drum machines and quite a lot of it was made with the TR-808 which had none. Thought it was worth pointing out.
This not to say that swing isn’t a useful feature BUT not having it isn’t a crippling fault.
Worth pointing out, yes, thnx Ed
And I bet there is midi filter that can remedy that. Not with my device now, but maybe MidiFlow or something
Xynthesizr doesn’t show up as a destination in AUM, I tried rebooting, toggling Midi Clock on/off several times but still nothing...
In Xynthesizer, in Settings, make sure Link is off, and in Midi, scroll down to Sources and turn on Clock In for Virtual Midi.
It should show up in AUM as a Midi Clock destination now.
Thanks, I did make sure that both settings were done correctly, but still nothing... I’m on Xynthesizr 1.61.
Man, this is weird.
I did a setup earlier, before I posted, just to make sure everything was fine.
It was.
Then I read that you are still stuck, so I remade the setup again. But this time, I also do not see Xynthesizer Virtual Midi in AUM clock destination.
So I a trying to figure out what’s up with this weirdness, and I notice that I have MidiMonitor Destination as a AUM clock destination choice. I didn’t load a Midi Monitor, though. But I do remember seeing it in your screenshot, too. I figured you loaded one, trying to troubleshoot your problem.
It turns out, for some reason, this MidiMonitor port is actually the Xynthesizer clock destination. I sent AUM clock to it and Xynthesizer responded to Transport and Tempo.
Bizarre.
Well spotted! I would never figure it out without your sleuthing... Can’t even remember when I used MidiMonitor - at least not for this configuration... it’s weird, but I’m glad that it’s finally working. Thanks a bunch!
Edit: I just shut everything off and restarted AUM, guess what, now it works without having to use Midi Clock at all. Whoa? I then switched Ableton Link back on, and it just started working! Something must reset itself with all the power on-off, rebooting. This is getting weird!
Hi
Since the last update I have audio crackles in Audiobus @128 buffer size.
Before I was not this issue 😕😞
Anyone has the same problem?
I’m so amped to reveal my recent use of xynthesizer.
I use it as a musical chords notes generator.
I record the midi into Drambo. Drambo send out to different synths.
Lots of creativity
Love it
