The reverse delay is delicious. The cross-modulation is tasty too.
It seems to use some cpu since i get here and there crackle when i go wild.
It could use a bigger latency to avoid that. There seems no setting for buffer size.
Maybe i try to use it inside Audiobus with 1024 frames setting.
Dev got back to me on crackling, especially on older devices, and says a fix is in the works.
I wouldn´t call my iPhone 6S plus old.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
It's crackling on my Air 2 also if I run more than a couple apps. Love the app, but something definitely amiss.
Honestly, I am enjoying this one far more than the Gadget update.
I'm not a Gadget user, but I have to say... this one is really fun to just open up real quick and noodle around with for a few minutes without recording, or using with anything else at all. Really nice overall combo. Useful with other stuff or on it's own, sounds good, easy to use, reasonably-priced, and fun.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
"reasonably-priced" heck.. this thing is under-priced. I think the dev should iron out some minor wrinkles, make it universal and double the price. Would still be a bargain.
It's the definition of a quick dip in while she's trying on some shoes because I'm bound to come up with a little piece of something. As dear old Hunter used to mutter even a blind pig will find a truffle every once in a while...
Anybody else getting weird playback results with the arp ? I programmed a simple 8 beat arp with only the first and 5th notes active. It sometimes plays just the first note only for a few bars - sometimes the 2nd note will play then not. Random.
yeah, tried it with a few other simple arp patterns and some notes don't play sometimes... am i missing something or have a setting that needs turned off or adjusted? this was with the arp set to "forward"
I experienced that too but discovered I had the Velocity down on a few bars.
mmm yes i think that may have worked thanks
little things about this app: wish the arp would stay toggled on as you switch presets - and the scale locked as you went through presets rather than going back to major every time
Hi, sorry to get back so late, just came back from overseas. I had answered some of your queries via email. No worries, the issues that are mentioned have gone into my to-do list, and will be my work for the upcoming weeks, in order of criticality.
Thanks for the wonderful support for TF8!
The option of making the knob mode vertical and not just horizontal too? That's my only complaint, too fiddly trying to dial in values or do large changes. Otherwise an excellent app!
Wonderful app. Keep at it!
Would also be great if the randomized arps only selected notes from the chosen scale mode!!
@Lppier please note that it's not just the physical movement of note buttons in the arp that's an issue, as noted above, scale locking does not appear to lock note values selected with "note" buttons in the arp. (I tried with diatonic play modes turned on and "note" buttons still select chromatic notes)
@Halftone I think I'm seeing unexpected playback behavior here too. When arp mode set to "backward", arp playback seems to begin on step 1.
Also, I'm not understanding the choice of notes in the top row of pads but I'm sure I'm missing something theory wise. With C major selected, the bottom row of notes play C, D, E, F, G, A, B. Makes sense. But the top row of notes play F, G, A, B, C, D, E. Is there a theory-based reason why the top row starts with fourth step of C major? If the top row began with A, then the row would be the relative minor. Would that be more musically useful? Dunno
Similar thoughts here...
just played a bit and wanted to say what a beautiful sounding synth though. I'd sworn off new synth apps ( unless released as Gadgets) for the past year or so... but so glad I picked this one up. Nice intro price - highly recommended.
@Lppier Great work on the follow up to TF7. Great sounding synth and probably my favourite arpeggiator on iOS. One feature I'd like to see in the arpeggiator is to have the current settings printed right on the dials. For instance if you've selected Notes the actual note names would show up in the centre of the buttons, select Gate and a numerical value showing all gate settings at a glance. And of course 32 steps would be awesome too. Thank- you for your efforts, much appreciated!
Hi Tarekith,
Will be sure to take a look at better knobs for sure. Thanks!
That's a great idea, I'll see whether it's possible in a later update. : )
Yup this is similar to what @Halftone said. Will take a look at it.
@Halftone, could you elaborate on what would be the expected behaviour for "backward" arp? Maybe you could email me at [email protected] with more details?
The way it is laid out, it allows for playing note combinations like this:
G
C E
which is a C chord doable with one hand - moving it down in steps generates diatonic chords Dm, Em, F, G, Am and so on.
You can also play :
E
A
C
which is an approximation of a CMaj7 , moving it down also gives many chords.
If the top row began with A, it would be a bit of a stretch to chord triads. Hope this explains it.
Great suggestion, @RJB regarding the note settings. I'll take a look.
32 steps would be a bit of a stretch for the space constraints of iPhone. Will experiment a bit. Within the limitations of the current app, you may find the Pendulum mode of the arp useful if you want a pseudo 32 steps arp.
Great app
Can we have the same last used preset when we start the app?
When i open preset browser can it be open with lastly used category opened + active preset highlighted?
Please?
There is no Hold?
Good to hear you have ongoing plans, app deserves it. Would like to put in a vote for an IPad expansion at some point![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thanks for TF8, great synth![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
My main request is for a complete horizontal mode so even if you don't do a universal ipad version then we can still use it horizontally on ipad.
That would do![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Yes thanks for the explanation
@Lppier regarding the knobs, to be more specific, the left and right movement is fine IF you move your finger slowly. It seems a greater range of movement is achievable with slower movment. I think a lot of people expect to be able to swipe across quickly to turn the knob all the way up or down and that's what's causing the confusion. If the range of movement with the slowest detectable swipe speed were to apply to all speeds and also vertically as well, that might be a good start. That's just my theory though.
Definitely thinking on going iPad at some point. However the execution is not clear yet as I have some ideas for the pad interface on the iPad that isn't translatable for iPhone due to the limited screen estate. Also, with iPad there's likely to be some thought required to make it DAW-friendly, with AU support.
