Gadget 3.0 un-documented new features
Since the main Gadget 3.0 thread will be filled with posts, I though it would be great to have a thread about the new features we find, that have not been documented by Korg.
Here's what I have found so far:
Mute/Solo button in Edit mode (so you can use them even when the gadget is hidden):
"Duplicate last scene" button in arrange:
Re-order IFX (by clicking function) not sure if this is new, but I never noticed before:
Set loop points in Editor (Finally!!!):
Please add your own findings below
Comments
Thanks.
How do you set loop points, cant seem to get it to do owt on iphone version?
Just touch and drag the white triangles left or right - just tested on my iPhone and it works fine.
Oh my poor battery
Ah it snaps to a bar
I noticed it caned the battery on my phone too.
Feature: Loop start/end points are set per loop, so if for example you copy the same 16-bar loop to 3 scenes, you can have the first scene play bar 2-4, the second play bar 4-16 and the third play bar 1-2.
It can probably get a bit confusing, but should make it much easier to arrange, as you don't have to shorten loops when you don't want to use all bars of a copied loop. Actually pretty cool when you think about it
Apart from the new gadgets this is probably the best new feature.
The loop points looks like a fantastic surprise gift. V3 is a pretty awesome update... (not that I've tried it yet)
The loop points are really good, could be more fluid to use, but thumbs up
If you open the Zurich Gadget, there is an import function, took me a minute to spot it, it is bottom left of the blue part of the screen....if you open this it lists all the samples I have imported into Abu Dhabi...if you touch the three dots next to a sample you can rename it
I havent tried it yet and do not know what effect that will have on the samples within Abu Dhabi if they get renamed also or not.
In Abu Dhabi and Bilboa in the User Samples section, it now seems you can store samples in iCloud (I assume for sharing between devices):
Funny thing is that you can't do this from Rossario or Zurich it seems, but the samples show up in Abu Dhabi and Bilbao (as they are all stored in the same space).
However it seems that things added as audio tracks are indeed shared via iCloud when you use the function in the open menu to store in iCloud
There is also a new icon when you open a song that is stored in iCloud from a different device, but is not downloaded on the current device yet (I assume to let you know downloading make take some time, now that samples can also be included):
FYI: It looks like recorded files (recorded in Zurich or Rossario) are stored in the project file, while imported samples are stored in the user sample area. So it does not seem possible to take a recording and using that elsewhere, unless it's recorded in another app or first exported as a mix down.
Actually I think Gadget copies any file imported into Rossario or Zurich to the project file, since deleting it from the user sample area does not delete it from either of these gadgets (I guess that's why they call it "Import"
)
When trying to save samples to the cloud Gadget is crashing for me...not everytime, but the majority
I don't think these 'features' were in OPs mind when he started this thread
Haha, good luck. I think we're going to have several Gadget threads at first one of which we'll prevail eventually. Probably by the time when AB3 comes out.
It's gonna be bloody impossible to find info. I think Korg forum might be the one to check too.
With that much battery use, it could be argued that working the iPad as a heater is a new feature ?

Completely off-topic, but how are you guys taking screenshots and then zooming in on the relevant bit and posting them here? I've always wanted to know this! It's probably very simple!
Undocumented removed features: hold to erase button. Replaced by this worthless bastard right here:
Home + sleep button on your iOS device to take screenshot, crop in the photos app to just include the section you want.
Edit and 'crop'.

I guess it's annoying of you use it a lot. On the other hand the function there now allows you to toggle between what is shown in the editor without going through the function button and menu - so for some that may be more useful?
But sad they removed a feature - maybe the concluded you can just use the select function and then tap DELETE?
I don't think this has been mentioned yet but they added the option for "audio" for track naming. Not a big deal but for those that liked everything to be labelled, it's good for organization when you have a lot going on.
Guys guys guys... Don't pollute this thread with OT thing's...
We are many that NOT want's to scroll thru endless pages with OT garbage that can be written in the original KG3.0 thread...
Thank's...
In the separate Settings section, located in the IOS Settings app, there are options to reset your session and uninstall gadgets. This may not be new but it's the first time I noticed it.
Not new with this update (I checked both old and new versions I'm running on different iDevices) but still...it's new to me...never saw this before so thanks for the tip!
Indeed- this was clearly stated and is the whole point of the thread.
Yes, this is a great place for hiding funtionality and settings from the general public.
I'm curious as to what the 'Edit' button next to Korg logo does?!
(I've got no such 'Edit' button in my Gadget 3.0 on iPad Air 2, iOS10.2.1).
