I'm just going to use this in the audiobus fx slot as a way to pan and position things. It sounds much more natural than turning a regular pan knob.
Same here.

Review by Doug from Thesoundtestroom:

AU please!
This app really works and I'm using it with some skull candy $10 in ear headphones. Amazing effect!
Further improvements to this app would be to be able to set the 'room size' and 'wall material'(for different types of reflections). And also to create really small spaces for total claustrophobia...
And naturally AUv3 Support.
I do realise that this is only useable with Headphones but I do >90% of my listening using headphones anyway
(Had a real blast running FunkBox and TroubleMaker thru this app).
Yes, that's why it would be really nice to have it as AU.
I guess you could LOAD > Mix > Freeze > Unload -> Move on to next track if you are only preoccupied with the mixing, but for some creative workflows, it would make 300x faster if you could load multiple instances.
Agreed. Multiple instances is the way to go. I think the dev has commited to implementing AU.
What I found was that there was always a "best position" for the sounds I ran through this, and it was pretty obvious to my ears, making it possible for me personally to get by with one instance at a time but yes AU would be really cool and perhaps entice me to finally purchase an AU host.
I may be wrong here, but I think it doesn't process stereo input. so if you have to place a stereo sound in your mix it doesn't work very well. you'd have to make it channel by channel, which is maddening.
I also question myself if an all-binaural multiple track song won't take too much headspace.
It does cause I had a stereo track going into it and sounded perfect at least the pro version.
Oh, good to know, thanks. I had this (mis)conception in my mind and wasn't very sure about it.
Sounds great. Tried a mixdown with it iaa in Cubasis as an insert on a guitar track but did not come out in mixdown. Anyone else?
Like it. Look forward to further tweaking, but it def. has a place in the toolkit (sic).
Yep.
yes, as i mentioned earlier in this thread it doesn't come out in a Cubase track freeze either.. but the Dev didn't pick up on my comment or respond..
hello!...... echo........ echo........ !olleh
I reckon this will be great when it gets more attention. Please
Loved that review, already downloaded the app, I know AU is in the works - pretty amazing for 3 bucks!! Kudos, @Fritz
@Fritz Love this app! Another request for AU please as I would love to run more than one instance.
Thanks!
@Fritz. Another vote for AU here. Had no real expectations when I bought this app but I prefer the pan effect to other options I've tried. I would sure use it more with multiple instances available.
AU will be icing on cake!
I noticed that Virtual Room PRO has disappeared from the App store.
My ears must have been nicely tuned to the built in HRIRs because the effect was very real to me!
It's possible it's being retooled for AUv3, or just given up on. Do you Forum denizens have any other suggestions for binaural-like sound processing effect apps? Preferably animatable parameters!
@jhhl ah man I guess you’re right. This is what I was using too. ThNkfully still on my iPad and iPhone....for now. Binaural location?? I think from Blue Mangoo though it was not as convincing
@jhhl Virtual Room AU is back on the store!
And it's AU...exposed parameters too, so LFO automation is possible...very cool beans as Mr Woods would say...👍
Great to hear this!
FWIW - Vitual Room AU was introduced 3 yeaars ago.
