Wow!!!!! Audiobus 3 makes everything so simple.

After 15 minutes im simply blown away. The midi routing to something special. pipe everything into cubasis and it syncs perfectly. I'm so happy right now.

  • See, all we need to do to achieve peace in earth is to provide convenient MIDI sync functionally for every man, woman and child.

That's so awesome to hear! I'm so glad you like it!

  • Audiobus 3 enables apps to sync to Cubasis properly?

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Can't find it on the store yet - I'm in the UK! Videos look great though :)

    The direct link works: https://audiob.us/download

  • Scratch that - it just doesn't come up when I search for audiobus. If I click th developer name, it's listed :)

  • It didn't show up in a US store search but if I went to AB2 and then related apps it was there.

    Yes really

Yes, I was in shock at first because cubasis doesn't have link. Everything else I'm using has link.

  • I need to clarify here: I think the main reason for why everything is in sync is Link. And since Cubasis receives MIDI from these synced up sources inside of Audiobus, it is synced to that. But currently we're not doing any syncing magic inside of Audiobus itself.

Understood, but I had ruismaker hosted inside cubasis. Pressing play on audiobus started cunasis in perfect sync. All other sound sources were routed back into cubasis.

  • Thankful for AB2 here because 3 is too confusing so far. I like to keep things simple though. Just not seeing the need YET.

What are the advantages of using AB3 instead of Cubasis midi editor?

I would guess maybe for more of a hardware approach, like I just got MidiSTEP and it's cool to be able to do all the routing and mixing from within AB without the need for Cubasis. That's one application I Suppose!

For one, you don't have to mess around with routing. AB creates a midi track that's already set up

Simplicity, transparancy and universality. This app is a beautiful.
    April 3 2017 is day 1, year 1 AB3.
Congrats to all the teams involved in this fantasic achievement.

Interesting...and save it to recall later.

I like this. It seems that AB3 saves a lot of time. Thinking to pull the trigger now :)
    Thanks a lot @chimp_spanner and @jn2002dk

  • Why is it a new pay-for app rather than an upgrade to 2?
Before I buy it, will I need to buy it twice? One for phone and again for tablets?

    Because developers need to eat.

No, it's a universal app. One purchase and you get it in all of your devices.

Sector, Samplr and other apps that don't have Link (But do have Midi clock) can sync effortlessly?
    A video will be nice..

A more informative answer, anyone? Not some play on biblical guilt? By Jocphone's logic the developers at Korg Gadget are starving. I'm looking for why 2 would even be left out there if 3 is an upgrade rather than a new app, new name, new cost, like Remote.

i disagree with this. Korg's model includes creating constant new add-ons that must be purchased. That's how they "eat". Audiobus is not structured this way.
Audiobus would not make sense to create IAP add-ons.

Audiobus 3 is a new version release, the old version still works. If you think of it like standard software it makes perfect sense. (X.x version upgrades are free and major X.0 upgrades are a new purchase or sometimes have upgrade pricing).

    For $10 I can't complain

    Free updates for three years.
All new code— not just sticking new modules on.
They not are not only developing an app, but a whole system, which takes a great deal of maintenance. (creating, distributing and updating the SDK).
If they took down AB2 suddenly, users we've never heard of would suddenly appear here on the forum accusing them of forcing people to upgrade, plus v3 only works on 10.2+.

  • Sorry if this has already been asked in one of the AB3 threads, but:

Is it the case that right now it's not possible to suppress sustain in SampleTank using Midiflow Splitter? I managed it with the CMP Grand Piano and iSymphonic standalones in AB3. But turning off the sustain switch for SampleTank does nothing. Using an external MIDI keyboard.

Think it's because can't turn off CoreMIDI in SampleTank. Maybe? But advice would be welcome. Would love to layer with ST without sustain.
