Go for it! Mrs Chasteen has one and enjoys playing it through a cranked Twin Reverb.
She also has a nice collection of early 20th century kazoos (or as Tampa Red called them "jazz horns"), but she is no purist.

Now to the Birthday Boy:

I understand you are the Carrie Bradshaw of headphones but if you don't have a pair of Sony MDR-7506's you should try them. A lot of us mix and at least do preproduction work & recording with headphones, and the 7506's are like Yamaha NS-10 monitors: they provide honest, flat and unflattering sound so you really know what's going on.

Or the iXpand iOS drive from San Disk is a useful piece of gear, great for backing up projects & samples, etc. Lastly, you could always go with iTunes Gift Cards, so you'll have a stash when new apps or IAP's come down the pike.

iXpand iOS. How is it possible that I haven't come across this before? Going to make an executive decision to purchase without waste of a slot in the bidet list.

As for the headphones, I have two pairs of Sony MDR-7506s, bought in NYC a thousand years ago and still really good

The SanDisk iExpand is really cool. If for nothing else it's good for being able to do saves & transfers out and about without being tethered to a laptop. Once I'm ready with all my saves, etc. I plug it into the USB of the computer and boom, done.

Should've known you'd be hep to 7506's... I have two myself, a pair from 1995 and a pair I got last year. Both sound great, the older pair as good or better. Essential in my book.

Yeah, the iExpand will also save me a few hours a week explaining (again! every time!) to Mrs. Goodyear how she should transfer something from her desktop to her iPad using itunes etc.
