  • Hope you guys like the video, sorry for all the stuttering and shaking but still learning all this stuff! :D

  • Lovely stuff!

  • Nice work @MusicMan4Christ ! This is the first piece created in KRFT that has tempted me to purchase it. I hope you will create more good stuff using KRFT !

  • Thanks! I'm learning a lot from the Surface sharing and not only that they encourage you to come up with stuff. Just need a faster iPad soon :D

I've got KRFT talking to Beathawk in AUM! Here are the steps:

    1. Launch AUM and load an instance of the Beathawk AU in the input in channel 1.
    2. Open the Beathawk AU panel and click on the orange squigly arrow icon in the top left of the panel.
    3. Select 'AUM destination' as a midi source.
    4. Open KRFT.
    5. Create a midi channel and select 'AUM' as destination.
    6. Voila!
    7. Now go buy the new 'acoustic drums' pack in Beathawk, load the first preset which gives you a full drumkit with multiple velocities layers on each piece of the drumkit. This is the best sounding and easiest to use way to create realistic drumkits in my opinion.
    8. Have fun!e

Can't understand the magic behind it... but Beathawk works flawlessly with Midiflow Adapter..

  • Just had a go at sending my KRFT midi sequences out to Logic Pro X instrument tracks. Only took 20mins to figure it out and get it working... and that's going from zero experience. :)

Was using midimux, and then tried midimttr too. Much the same but I found midimttr slighly easier to connect.

KRFT is pretty stunning out to a daw. Alongside Future Drummer too. Yum!

Well, I thought I had it set up correctly. Actually, even though I've set up my soft instruments in Logic Pro X to be receiving each on a specific channel, I'm getting all Omni into LPX for some reason. Not my KRFT settings, but likely my LPX settings. I tried both midimttr and midimux. Also tried Genome and Modstep. Even though I have each channel specified going out, and for the input in LPX, I'm still getting all midi coming into LPX as Omni and not routed exclusively to specific channels.

Anyone have a clue what I might have set up wrong? It's not KRFT's settings, because I'm getting the same behavior from Genome and Modstep, ie. I've got 3 soft instrument tracks in LPX, with each designated chan 1-3. I send channel 2 out of the iPad via KRFT, Genome, or Modstep, and I'm getting channel 2 midi on my other two tracks set for channel 1 and 3, as well as 2. Doesn't matter if I'm using midimux or midimttr. My guess is that I've got something set wrong in LPX.

I had this exact same issue and couldn't work it out. When I looked it up it seemed to be an issue within logic. Perhaps the top answer to this question would work => https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5174298?tstart=0

    I'll have to try it.

Two things... First, I absolutely abhor this kind of smug nerd, tossing around, "it's so simple" "you simply do this" etc. And then don't really offer accurate, detailed instruction. Makes me want to virtually punch this smug dingus in his or her virtual dingus face. ;)

Second, although the instructions weren't clear, in that they don't show up as "ports" as described by dear dingus, etc. and the tiny interface connections triangles are difficult to see what they connect to.. I DID get it connected so that the channels were routing accurately. I was using midimttr.

Contrary to the smug, dingus' "simple" explanation ;) I didn't have labled "ports" but 4 possible connections, ie. IAC Driver, midiLE USB, Sum, and Network. The problem being that they weren't aligned with specific connection arrows. I found through trial and error, the 4th and 5th connection arrow, linked to each of my transformers that were specified as channels 1 & 2, and connected to the sequencer input... worked. Yay!

The second link, basically offers the same solution, but with more alternate scenarios.

    thx :)

  • Anyone can help.. Trying to control the pattern knobs in iSpark with KRFT?

  • edited May 2017

Looks like there's more to it... but I've FINALLY got it to work in LPX with 3 discreet midi channels.

The instructions in the link above were wrong on a couple counts... at least for the current build of LPX.

Here's a screenshot how how I got it all to work:

Can you not use midi learn to assign a dial or something?

  • Is here a way to load a full drum kit into beathawk all at once?

  • I got Beathawk inside AUM on my iPhone and seems to receive midi from KRFT but the UI in BeatHawk doesn't allow you to scroll around to make selections. Is this a known bug? Any workarounds guys? Trying to get stuff going on the iPhone but so far Drum Session is broken.
I wanna buy the BeatHawk acoustic drums but the UI is screwed up in AUM!
Gonna have no choice but to create my own Reslice drum kit.

Anyone has any tips on how to best do this?

  • i have been reading and enjoying this forum for the last year and finally got round to registering because i am so excited about krft and want to get involved. The addition of midi out will make it even better, i am dreaming of mixing some nave or isem with the great built in sounds.

Are there any plans to add sample import to the krft drum machines? I don't remember seeing that discussed.

As it is my first post i guess i should introduce myself quickly: i have been making electronic music for a long time, last spring i sold 4 hardware synths and bought an ipad instead and am very pleased that i did. Although I knew it would be a good move having used nanostudio, sunvox and animoog on my ipod touch for the past 5 years. My music is on soundcloud.com/zackdelta the last track is all sunvox and the one before is mainly model 15. I look forward to getting involved in the song of the month club now i am up and running...

    Sounds great! Nice one!

  • Thanks Alex! I was asking for a standard keyboard inside KRFT but the more I use the built in one he more I like it! Would be awesome to have optional one though but that might take too much coding. I really like the keyboard inside Aleph Looper which is expandable and one can have various octaves readily available especially on an iPhone SE screen that helps big time! Any chance of ever getting one Alex?

Anyways, I totally forgot I could use Gadgets Drum kits so this morning I've been creating stuff in KRFT and sending midi out to Gadgets Gladstone drums! Great stuff!

KRFT is the ultimate Looper on iPhone period! Honorable mention is Aleph Looper and Inf Looper IMHO.

  • Thanks Alex:
Here's a screenshot of the options to select scales and he keyboard showing expanded. One can even hide the mod wheels too.

Would really love something like that. One can expand or decrease the size of the keyboard by tapping on the scroll bar on top of the keyboard.
