Yes, the infinite looper keyboard is pretty ideal, especially with the ability to program your own custom scales/note sets. The only thing it lacks is a two-keyboard option-- having one keyboard above another makes it easier to use 'guitar thinking' and make wide interval leaps. Nanostudio's keyboard can do that, but it's limited to the menu of scales on offer (you can't make custom scales).
As a guitar player maybe that's why it clicks with me. Great post!
@Alex fox and @MusicMan4Christ I think the keyboard is fine, but IF IF there was anything to take away from infinite loopers keyboard it would be the resizability for more octaves on screen and, like a regular keyboard, the completely linear layout of pitches low to high. The linear layout of pitches, combined with the scale/key selection we've all become accustomed to, makes it very easy to intuitively know your way around on the touch screen, even play with your eyes closed. However, infinite loopers keyboard does lack in height. When we play on the touch screen, it's far more enjoyable when there's a sense of being able to use the majority of the screen space as a playing surface. The less we have to watch our fingers, the more fun we have. This is where the large screen space covered by the KRFT keyboard excels. So if we take the best of both worlds, KRFTS keyboard and infinite loopers keyboard we can come to an optimal touch screen keyboard which is essentially the same dimensions of the current KRFT keyboard only with pitches laid out low to high, left to right, albeit with highly resizable keys. In a nutshell, an xy grid with labeled keys and you can resize the hell out of the keys. In other words, BEBOT. But perhaps the chord mode would function slightly differently, not sure.
Hark, did someone say BEBOT? I must find my bowtie...
I love the chord mode
Oh hell yeah so do I. I just didn't know how it would be laid out in a different keyboard style or if it evens needs to
That's why I think having an option to bring up either might work?
Yeah options are always welcome. but not too many. I guess we all have to figure out where that line is.....
Guys in the matrix how do I delete empty measures without deleting the entire loop?
As far as I know you can't. I had suggested a while back an option to delete/copy/etc by the bar, using the scrolling rectangle at the bottom that's already there as the highlighter/selector tool.
We want to add a multi select cursor type thing in the matrix at some point, it would be useful
Speaking of the keyboard, I'd like to be able to play it without having to go into edit mode, a "live keyboard button"
I create a series of one note fills in my surface and then play those like a keyboard. Works fine for simple melodies and making a looped part less "programmed". This is what KRFT excels at, IMHO.
That's what I do. A nice feature would be able to "explode" a loop into multiple cells. That would allow you to divide up an existing cell by time intervals or notes into separate cells. It would be a quite way of creating a keyboard amongst other fun things.
That's some crazy shit right there. I approve
Man, now i see why you're the dev and I'm the user

That's one smart idea there @Alex fox
I just started placing buttons and dials ON TOP of each other. ...! ON TOP!
So like parameter chaining! Mind blown!
The latest beta lets you quantize to the grid post-recording. Good stuff!
When's it out? This is quite painful reading for non-beta's like me.
Explode sounds perfect for quickly making a little keyboard. Go with that. In the case of drums, however, The option to "expel" notes (with their intervals) individually would be nice, so some could remain grouped. To avoid surface clutter if nothing else. Options beget options.
I don't get it. Do they trigger the ones below?
yes - for example you could make a Morph button to pitch up your bassline -3 semitones ... then make another Morph for a lead synth that pitches up -3 semitones - place the two Morph buttons on top of each other and when you push the button, both the bassline and synth line will pitch up. Handy!
yes... soon i hope?
nice
You can also layer up a fill and a morph or a dial. E.g. a snare roll and a snap back dial wired up to pitch. Then hold on and drag around for fun!
I really like that idea! Perhaps it could have an associated 'note recorder' cell that could record a re-assembly of the exploded loop. So if you split a melody loop into say 8 cells and played with them until you hit upon something good, then record the new loop(s) into new a new cell(s) to free up some fingers (and screen space) for further fun.
Ditto.
Guys there more room I think for testers.
I think.
@Alex fox any chance for midi in? This would do away with needing to add
new keyboard as we could use Aleph Loopers or AudioBus 3's keyboard and bam! Problem solved.
