If I was a DEVELOPER, I would design _________________________app.
MY OWN VERSION OF ALCHEMY!
Why has no developer done this?
From the way it set up songs vs tracks, the 4 track overdub recorder.
AND THE SOUNDS! OMG
Customizing outside samples.
The parameter GUI interface. The best.
No app has made me have more fun and be more creative then Alchemy did.
I wish someone would go there.
The people have spoken! LOL
Comments
I am a developer, and I've had enough of it.
I'm going to live in a Yurt in Nimbin.
1.an app that forced developers to focus on features first and sound packs later
2 an app that stopped developers from telling that tired ole story about not focusing on basic standard features because they want to get music creativity into the hands of as many non-music making people as possible out of the goodness of their hearts but still want people to buy a zillion sample packs
Ableton,Samplr and Quantiloop all in one app
And built in multi fx on all of the abov
damn I wish you were a developer
RandomBus. An app that randomized the sound and patterns of every app you queue up in it. Plus state saving.
It's called Breeze and EVERYTHING is an xy pad. Sample import, Link, export. No audiobus or midi
Ho....Ly.....shit
If possible with IOS 11, I'd develop a screen recording app that included
Option to record finger movement/ tap.
Voice over (live and separate)
Annotation (live via Apple pen, or later addition)
Editing suite.
A complete replica of the Roland CSQ-600 sequencer and the way it works (by duplication of state diagram), probably not as an app, but more as an microcontroller (ESP8266) project with real ADC and DAC.
A simple, easy to use MIDI sequencer with customisable UI, live playing screen and additional power user features under the hood if required.
I've got stacks of MIDI controller apps already, but none seem to reach 'go to' potential.
An arpeggiator that used Euclidean / polyrhythm / cyclic patterns with accent/note percentage settings.
+1 for the RandomBus! - or even a ScrambleBus?
Again....i would make better FX. Synths are good on iOS....FX are mainly mediocre.
If I were a developer, I'd develop a music app where the only input method would be your voice. No keyboards, no midi, no nothing. It would be super intelligent, and it would have great knowledge of all modern music history and various styles. You could basically just talk to it, tell it what you wanted, it would understand what you want, and it would give it to you straight away.
It would work like this:
Hey computer, give me 16 bars of a medium tempo 808 kit, played with a slight shuffle, four on the floor
computer, make the hi hats a little louder and bring up the tempo slightly
computer, compress the bass drum slightly and bring down the snare a hair.
computer, add a moog bass line, that's sort of funky, in the key of F
computer, make it funkier, think Prince
computer, add resonance to the bass
computer, transpose the bass down 1 octave
computer, compress the bass a bit
computer, compress the bass a bit more
computer, add some 80's inspired JP-8 Pads, think Nick Rhodes
computer, make the Pads wider and fatter
computer, add a bit of reverb to the OBX-8 Pads, large room
computer, add a bit more of that reverb
computer give me a cheesy, but cool lead line
computer make the lead less sharp, and put some reverb on it, medium plate
computer, put SSL compressor on main mix bus, light compression
computer, add just a bit more compression
computer, limit the entire mix, just a tad
computer bounce individual tracks to dropbox
computer bounce main mix to dropbox
I'm with you on that one
Although I have no idea where Nimbin is
Great idea, but I'd trade Nimbin for Tash Rabat. One of the loveliest places I've ever had the pleasure of staying in a Yurt.
Ok so three of us in a Yurt.....How long before we have redesigned it, and added MIDI control to the vents and door![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
I've been thinking about investing some time in developing a euclidean sequencer with some interesting and experimental features but I'm not sure it's worth the bother. Most likely, it will not earn me a hundred dollars I need to pay Apple for a developer account![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
An universal platform where you would load your apps and FX on ONE page and you could connect MIDI and audio with virtual cables, they would resize to fit screen as needed.
And an AU midi sequencer something like midiSequencer by Tony Saunders, but simpler in functions but sophisticated in timing etc...you could run up to 16 of them, all synced, each its channel, independent clock/options.
...an app that treats tempo and time in an entirely innovative way. Basically, as a song progresses in min/sec, the user gets younger by the same amount. Tempo control allows acceleration of the process, so a morning's finger drumming at, say, 150 bpm could see you 12 hours younger by the afternoon. (App not recommended for very young users.)
Oh, something like the autosampler from Mainstage as AUv3 would be great.
A Host with proper Au Automation - coupled with an Au Midi Control Surface app with user-selectable elements, and a great Preset system. (like Sonic Logic, but as Au).
Any app that Figures out a way to expose Midi parameters back to Core Midi on OS or even Windows.
Indeed, host automation is the best thing which could happen with iOS AUv3 apps.
On top i would like then midi FX which can modulate these automations. Then we have a little Logic for iOS.
It opens so much options that it all feels almost like a giant modular instrument.
I guess AUM already does that to some extent. It lets you couple MIDI CC to AU Parameters. Control it with something like KRFT and you can do a lot!
@kobamoto Bob here from Mega-Music-Corp - you must remember that we've only developed half a dozen apps, and with a small team of only 5-7 developers working full-time, we simply can't provide advanced functionality like Midi. Also, this is just release 1 - just wait, we have great things coming for you to spend $ on. I'll send your request along to the team though, and you'll never hear back again, thx for the great suggestions!
Really? I've not tried this with Aum - but if so the parameter names should show up in Ableton. Will check this! I've been under the impression it wasn't possible.
I can just speak for myself but midi is no advanced option in a serious music app for me. It´s a basic....for me.
Don´t take it personally please, it´s just what i think as a customer, music creator, sound designer.
You're speaking for my-self too![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
A drum sampler AU where you could build and sync beats on a step grid then when satisfied drag these into the host as MIDI clips
I don't think they will show up in Ableton. AUM only exposes the AU Parameters of AU Extensions it's hosting in its own MIDI configuration pane. I'm not aware of a feature that communicates between AUM and Ableton.
