@studs1966 you have very nice vocals. I don't listen so much to that kind of music but I know when I hear quality.

Great sounding mix, and pleasant to listen to. If I was being critical, I'd say it was a little long to hold my interest, but this isn't a type of music I generally listen to, so that might be a bigger factor than anything to do with the arrangement. But yeah, everything spot on, vocals sat well in mix, and I could hear everything going on with clarity. Cheers!

Some old school rave using Groovebox and GarageBand

Nothing serious ... a live jam with self made loops and stuff :)

Had a headache trying to set up a new sound cloud lol... we need a new music network lol

Nice! I heard two themes going on, the descending line in the beginning, and the second one, I'm not sure how to describe verbally, but I liked that you came back to each one with variation. I listened through twice, the second time more closely to what was going on. I had the urge to add a big fat guitar track, because that's what I do! :) nice work.

Thank you. But I have to admit it's not my voice(I wished....... I did try to copy the singing, but I struggled with the high notes)....... The vocals are an acapella I paid from a reputable site. Cheers anyway. ;)

Fantastic house! Vox a little behind the rhythm but awesome chord progression. Could easily fit onto a house compilation with the fade out too.

Thanks. I know it's a little bit long. Sorry, about that. But when I make a track I always make them a 12inch....... Plus I gat carried away doing it...... lol..... ;)

Cool song! Weird mix of Americana guitars, 90thies synthies and 808. I specially like the vocal sound in the end. Cool!

Thanks @Orne33e I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad you like it. A mix of those influences is what I've been into lately, playing more slide than ever. It's cool that you picked up on it. Thanks again.

  • @Shaken&;Stirred
I love to play slide myself ;), that's why

@marliess, great little rock and roll tune. Super tight mix, everything sounded great. Drums sure worked nicely. I loved the bits of high harmony here and there as well. A bit of a bridge would have been a nice addition.

Thanks @rickwaugh for the feedback, much appreciated. My last sotmc entry had a bit o fat on it (too long) so i went in this time trying to 'get in, blow the hair back then get out!' Perhaps over corrected too much...thanks again for having a listen.

  • @Shaken&;Stirred said:
Yes @marliess I agree, this is a cool tune, I like it. It's a cool mix of modern production with some older vibes. Maybe it's The Cars I'm hearing a little in there, surprisingly not one of the bands mentioned! :) You did a good job of adding bits to "hold the listener's interest". Nice work, thanks for sharing!

Thanks @Shaken&;Stirred for having a listen & giving feedback. I'm happy with the Cars ref...they had some really catchy tunes so nice to be compared with them. I unintentionally always seem to end up sounding 80's-esque...could be cos i use dfx chorus a fair bit in the vocal chain (my crutch for a somewhat dodgy voice) or could be cos i hit high school in that period and I'm subconsciously stuck in a stylistic timewarp :)

  • @studs1966 well done on another quality tune and congrats on getting some tunes placed in compilations recently.

@touchconspiracy2017 great output from a live jam…some great sounds in there, particularly liked it when the intensity ramps up around the 1 min mark. I reckon 2min 30 is about the perfect song length so well done on fitting some great ideas in and keeping it interesting throughout. Really well mixed, though I found the tail out at the end a tiny bit abrupt…very minor suggestion but maybe a slightly longer tail and a bit of verb right at the end. Well done overall though.

  • @touchconspiracy2017, that was run. Beat just drove it right through. A bit incoherent structurally, but it was a live jam, so it makes sense.

@touchconspiracy2017, nice jam! Did you use Garageband’s Session mode? Very cool, congrats!

  • @studs1966, very nice EDM production. Ready for commercial release, every bit in the mix is balanced and clear. Long enough to be DJ friendly (albeit a little long for causal listening). The vocals, is it an acapella, or are you singing this time? Thumbs up!

  • @marliess, another very tight production from you. I can help being reminded of Oingo Boingo and 80’s new wave (Trio, Roxy Music, Heaven 17 etc). Very cool!

  • @rickwaugh, already commented when you posted this in Creations, but I’ll say it again: very interesting piece, and I love the synth lead. Cheers!

@Shaken&;Stirred , very interesting song. I loved the quasi-country intro, and when the quasi-hip hop vocals entered, it caught me entirely by surprise. An interesting and weird (in a positive sense) song, very enjoyable. Hats off!

  • This is mine for July: The name came from the giant with hundred eyes from the greek mythology, servant of Hera and treacherously killed by Hermes. Lots of overdriven guitar solos, including a lightning fast guitar improvisation, contrast with sweet, 80-ish DX pianos and clean, funky rhythms. The drums were synthesized with an iOS synth by FabFilter, Twin 2, and played with my ever-trustworthy BOSS DR-5.

Nice, Dimitri. Love the solos, that's some pretty fine legato there. Never mastered that. Great rhythm and movement, as always. One nit on the mix, is that the electric piano disappeared once everything broke loose. Probably hard to keep it up with the distortion on the guitars, but I liked the sound of it a lot.

Thank you Dimitri, this feedback made me happy. I like your take on my mix of styles, and "weird" is good in my eyes!

I just listened to Argos and enjoyed it. It really held my interest, and I'm a fan of the dual guitar lines which are well done on this track. What are you using for your guitar tones? Sounds great!

Unrelated to your track, on the shelf behind you in the bass shots in the video there is a Marshall combo amp. I don't recognize it, what model is that?

Thank you, @rickwaugh! The piano got buried, I noticed, perhaps I should even have muted it at the choruses, but what is done, is done: I couldn’t justify to myself remixing the song only for this.

Thank you! The amp is a Marshall JTM30 2x10 re-edition. But I never use it anymore, both of its valves got exhausted and I’m yet to gather the patience to search for a replacement. I used OverLoud THM plus Saturn and Auria’s stock delay for the guitar (and bass) tones. Cheers!

Thanks. Still acapella. I wished I could sing like that, then I would save a bit of money buying acapellas. Lol. :)

  • @fattigman I like the way you have got family involved. I tried to get my 19 year old daughter to sing on some of my stuff, but she is resisting so far...
Video is cool, will have to check Lumafusion out. Very professional sounds and production going on and I liked the song overall. The only thing I'd change is the boxy sounding reverb you have on some of your rap/talk bits.

@Shaken&;Stirred Nice bit of slide guitar :) I like the spoken word type vocals, reminds me of something that I can't quite put my finger on. Production is really good, but I feel the chorus could do with being a bit heavier musically? The drums also feel a bit limp in that part.
    Great job though.

  • @rickwaugh Reminded me in some ways of Linkin Park, but then the keyboards are quite Tangerine Dream. Nice mix.
Wasn't keen on the bass hum sound and feel it could be developed more as a song, but impressed with the playing and production.

  • @marliess Echoes of Skater Boi in the storyline? But way cooler lyrics. I love the call and response vocals! Reminded me of Sparks vocals on the response.
Great guitar work and good sounding drums. Lovely :)
