Knowing that these are brewing and may appear is like If Christmas wasn't a fixed date..
Been holding out on the AD apps but this is an instabuy. Been wanting an AU glitch/stutter effect for a few months now,
iTunes account charged and ready. Some stuff you just know you won't regret getting.
Gagging
Ooh!
Does this mean this week?
WHERE IS IT!
Yep, this week 3 offerings apparently
Replicant 2, Phosphor 2 and Fuzz 3?
That's what I heard via Twitter
Replicant 2 should be out today or tomorrow (it's been in review since Friday). I think Phosphor 2 maybe a few more days after, as I think it's only just ready.
Chris hasn't mentioned anything recently about FuzzPlus 3, and it doesn't appear in his list of apps in the tweet above, so not sure when we can expect that one.
Just waiting on Apple at this point. Replicant 2 just changed to "In Review" (literally, as I was typing that first sentence.) So it should be available in a couple hours. Phosphor 2 is waiting on some tester feedback, but I just discovered a problem with the standalone UI on phones, so I'm going to have to spin that again, which will be my chore this morning. FuzzPlus3 is waiting for TestFlight review.
A quick note about Replicant 2: it is a tempo effect, so there are some caveats when using it. It doesn't do anything at all in standalone until you hook it to another app via IAA. It needs a host with a transport to do its thing, so this unfortunately makes the AUv3 pretty much useless in AudioBus, which has no transport. So you want to mainly use it as an AUv3 in Cubasis / ModStep / BeatMaker 3 / AUM / that sort of thing.
Also, we have, during the course of testing, discovered a bug with AUv3 hosting in Auria Pro. That app provides some transport information, but a couple key pieces of information it needs to provide are missing. Namely, the PPQ position (which we use to know where the 1 is in a given measure). I have written the Auria folks, and got a reply saying my query was sent on to whomever is in charge of such things, but I haven't heard anything beyond that. So until either they fix their app or provide me with enough information that I can code around the problem, Replicant just sits there looking pretty in Auria.
Anyhow, here's the Big Picture as of right now:
@Chris_Randall mentioned Fuzzplus to me 3 weeks or so ago, and it looked like it was completed. I'm wondering where Fuzz Plus 3 is too. Like I said, using that on a supersaw trance lead produces incredible timbres. Grind is kind of like the big daddy of Fuzz Plus (as it even has a distortion algorithm in it called "Fuzz Plus"), but sometimes all you really want is Fuzz Plus to quickly dial in the sound.
Anyway, according to him, it'll be about $11.98 or so to get both Phosphor and Replicant. This is how I understood the pricing to be. Can't wait!
Replicant 2 will be $4.99, and Phosphor 2 will be $5.99. FuzzPlus 3 will, of course, be free.
Sweet! Thanks.
(Lol, I just noticed you posted while I was typing my last reply.
How've you been?)
Any plans for a discounted bundle to get everything at once?
We won't do any bundles until everything has been ported; that I can say with certainty.
Replicant 2 was just approved. It will probably take an hour or two to propagate to all the App Stores (it's not showing in the US store yet), but here's the direct link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/replicant-2/id1261900553?ls=1&mt=8
Please note that this is a complicated and somewhat finicky effect, and rewards patience. I'll be sitting here all day to catch problems, so don't panic if you run in to something. Hit me up on my personal Twitter account (https://twitter.com/Chris_Randall) for fastest response, or write the Audio Damage info email ([email protected]) with screenshots if possible for more complicated problems. We're a small company (just two people!) and that email goes directly to me.
Weird....
Just the usual App Store nonsense. It's universal. Patience!
(Read all the first day posts about BM3 for fun while waiting.)
yeah but I clicked the link on an iPad, that was what was weird.
Replicant 2 is out...oh i see youre way ahead of me
I did a vid of replicant with seekbeats will prob have it up tommorow
@Chris_Randall Congratulations and Thank You!
This is cool, it will expand my pop/rock horizons a little.
Got it on my lunch break...fancy UI me likes
Just pulled the trigger on Replicant, but have not had a chance to try it out.
Compulsively yours,
Jeff The Completist
Is this similar to sector then? Is there enough difference to warrant purchase?
Its AUv3. Nuff said.
