I'm likely going to grab this one, but I don't have the other PPG apps and don't know much about wavetable synthesis. I see there's a library to choose new sounds to mess with. Are limited to just the sounds the app comes with? Or, can you import your own samples? Or, does it only import files created by the other PPG apps?

It´s more than a wavetable synth. I think this would be my new favorite iOS synth (if i had an iPad :s ).

So it looks like the AU is again a bit limited for editing. (At least a reason i will talk to myself to spend 5-6 times more for the plug-in version for mac).
Again, i think it´s a brilliant synth. This and Zeeon (and NanoStudio 2) makes an iPad just to own these very attractive again.
Thank´s Wolfgang Palm for your ongoing work in new forms of synthesis ( i think there isn´t something like Infinite there somewhere else).

  • I think I am starting to feel like @u0421793 regarding iOS synths in general.

If you don't mind what is the general feeling for my and others contemplation :)

  • Instahbuy as soon as I awoke at 9am here!

  • "All iPad synths are shit. I don't know how we ever thought they were any good. Must be mass hypnosis."
this must be the posting.....shocking!! :D

Oh my goodness! That is a much deeper cut than I was siding with.

  • Layer three AU instances of Infinite in AUM and play at the same time using the built in keyboard. Sounds lush and heavenly. Brilliant work yet again by Wolfgang :)

You can import from the other PPG apps but not directly into this one. It comes with a lot of sounds built in though.

Just got it and had a quick play. Any reason to pick up miniMapper too since it appears you could import/export between them?

Only barely scratched the surface but... "My God, it's full of stars!"

I don't have minimapper but have the ipad versions. Depends on your use of course but definitely worth getting Wavemapper at some point.

Yes really like Infinite, it's a great sound design tool :)

Just bought i. i checked how it responded to AB3 and so far I see is fully compatible. midi sent with MF keyboard is well received by it. You can put in the In audio slot in AB3 so dont really know if the description in the app ( only AB2) is fully correct.

    Seems very efficient.

Nice to see it works with iOS 8 (and presumably older iPads).

Hmm, on my iPad2 it crashes after the startup screen.
On my Pro 9.7 no such problem, obviously.

  • Instabuy, ofcourse...

It runs just fine on Wolfgang's iPad 3 (which uses the same cpu as iPad 2). That's the response I got on FB. So should run fine on anything. I'm thinking the crash on the iPad 2 above might be related to it having half the RAM.

    OMG

    It doesn't maximize?

    Oh boy, this is small.

    Hi,
I do not own any of PPG apps, do you think this one should be the best choice to start with?

    Thanks for the advice

    Yes

    100%

This is far the best one yet and haz attributes of priors in it.

    IMHO

This is the summer of Audio Unit

  • Wow. This thing is truly impressive. That is all for now.

Yes, that attention to detail stood out to me too from reading the excellent manual.

I'll probably get this eventually but much to explore in the meantime.

  • Every time I fire it up, I feel like a mad scientist getting ready to make some monster sound that no one has ever heard before. Then that's exactly what I do. This is awsome!
