Wow! Drooling
This happened with Phonem too, but does any one else get a lot of clicking on certain presets? On Air 2 in AUM with no other effects or background apps, the usage is only around 30-35%, and the levels are not clipping. I've tried every buffer size, 44 & 48 sample rate (they all give about the same amount of stuttering/clicking), an iPad reboot, and still no luck. I should mention I'm using the IAA/standalone, not the AU.
I gave up on learning Phonem because of this, but I refuse to give up on this one. It is incredible.
OMG!!!
Couldn't hold out much longer!
This silver beast is a beautiful one!
Sounds beautiful!
Ha, enjoy
Love the manual. Terse, and while reading I heard it all in Wolfgang's voice. A fine excerpt:
Now if you are in loop mode, you have 5 points.
The 4th point controls the width of the loop and the 5th point offers a random component to the loop. If you move point 5 up, the random effect increases. Move it down and you get more regular periods. Just try it out.

Sage advice! One day I'd like to release a single-line product manual: 'Just try it out.'
Anyone having trouble with preset recall of th AU in Cubasis?
I have to stop looking at videos of this, can't get my hands on it until Monday.
It looks far less daunting than WaveGenerator to program, can every parameter be midi mapped?
I think I need a tutorial series that is more user-friendly than Wolfgang's own!
his stuff is deep and well thought out, there is no such thing as a tutorial to replace understanding of the idea(s) behind the respective sound manipulation.
Learning takes a bit of time, as usual - but this is far from rocket science
I disagree completely. Tutorials can give you a basic understanding of any concept.
yes, that's correct - IF the maker of the clip got the idea completely AND is a good writer/talker... which is extremely rare in IOS context.
Wavetable synthesis is a mystery to most users because they never understood the principle and mess it with 'wave playback'.
Reflected in the ever recurring phrase: but can I load my own wavetables ?
(which essentially translates to 'play my own samples')
Reading the original doc clears this in a short while, but reading seem outdated...
Some of Wolfgang's concepts are complex by nature - imho the effort is adequate.
If you want to use those apps as tools for your own expression YOU have to understand them.
Otherwise there's presets and chance driven tap-swipe-tap-tap to have some fun until the next gadget (literal) appears.
Awesome lol
I was just reading about the other apps of Wolfgang and they seem to be very useful together with Infinite as they may feed it with base sounds you generate with the former apps. Which one if those do you find better combining ormore essential with Infinite?
If we can only choose one I would say WaveMapper is the most important to feed Infinite.
Do you know if it is possible to feed infinite with minimapper without copying to wavemapper first?
Any reason why you would choose first?
No I don't think so. It's been a few years since I beta tested minimapper but it doesn't have the same wave analysis page that comes with WaveMapper.
The reason I ask is you're supposed to be able to swap maps back and forth between minimapper and wavemapper. I've already bought too many apps lately and need to hold back on my spending a bit, but I took a gamble and got minimapper hoping I could feed infinite with it.
That asside, I DO like minimapper too. It's a pretty quirky interface, but mostly makes sense after you've messed around with it a bit. I dig the sounds from it too, so it's no biggy if I can't use it with infinite. But, it seems odd if you can transfer banks/maps roundtrip between minimapper and wavemapper... and since you can feed infinite from wavemapper, it seems logical you could also feed it from minimapper.
The whole file system and bank saving is still very confusing for me in minimapper. It makes more sense in infinite. So I thought maybe I just wasn't attempting the transfer correctly. I tried just copying a bank to the clipboard, then importing it within infinite, but I got a crash the first time. Second time it didn't crash, had me specify my user bank, but when I imported... nothing came into infinite.
WaveMapper interacts well with other apps. You can bring in audio from AudioShare and export to Infinite and Phonem. There is enough inside of Infinite to keep you busy for a while but adding one of the others will give many more possibilities.
Yeah minimapper is a great little app with the same audio engine as WaveMapper so capable of awesome results but as I said, I think it is missing the analyser page which means you have no deep control to make, edit and save files to feed Infinite.
Yes, I got that... but what are the files then that you're supposed to be able to transfer back and forth between mini and wave? There are import/export features in miniMapper so there's evidently a way to get something into and out of it.
Think of the files you can transfer between minimapper and WaveMapper as presets - arrangements and settings of oscillators etc., but they are not what you need to feed Infinite. WaveMapper allows you to work at a deeper level, as does WaveGenerator and Phonem - these are the food for Infinite
Ok. Mainly just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something so that I can stop trying.
I think it'll be a good long while before I run out of possibilities in infinite.
It's cool to have Wolfgang's sound on my iPhone via miniMapper though.
Yes really top stuff and Infinite is awesome.
The deeper I go with Infinite the more 'make you smile' moments I experience. This synth is such a monster. I can start with such a simple waveform and within minutes I have created a new epic sound. Pure brilliance from Wolfgang
Yes it's impressive. Is there a way of remotely modulating the morphing? I'd like to assign lfo to it or control via midi but I'm not sure if that's possible.
Yes to both. Use the matrix to assign LFO's, envelopes etc., G and F control morphing. Also app help lists cc's for MIDI I think 16 and 17 are for morphing.
