You guys do know that you can add Audio tracks as well right? So if you have recorded loops you can just drop them in and loop and place them to your hearts content in the timeline.
You must be kidding! Come on, it's friday - rock on!
Video please???
Here you go sir:
Hi, where did you find it? I can't seem to locate.
Not related to the update, but really found this video super helpful for those of us who might find a single pad the way to go when composing. Here, the user shows us how to stack Patterns on top of one another in the Song view. Who Knew!!!
Is there any way to delete a single pattern from a scene without clearing the whole scene?
Anyone here using beatstep pro with BM3? Wondering what their experience is like. Thinking of picking it up tomorrow
Just select the Pattern in the Scene column you want to remove, and tap the Clear button @ the bottom of the UI....it's next to Duplicate, Delete , etc. This will remove the Pattern from the respective Scene#
nice! maybe this’ll be solved with drag and drop?
Thanks - but if I have more tracks with patterns it also clears those - it clears the whole scene.
What I would like to do is just clear one pattern and leave the rest in the scene. Is that possible?
Couldn't find anything in the manual about it.
Uh man...didn't notice that. I'll poke around and let you know if I discover anything.
An idea in the meantime. You could just create an Empty Pattern, call it empty and use it to replace the patterns you want to remove from the scene. Not ideal but it would work
Ok, I found this. But I have a noob question. I see if I load a bank I get several parameters that can be modulated under the modulator screen, and I can add a step modulator as well.
But, what if I'm using/recording an external AU synth like Phosphor? How do I add some parameters to the modulator panel to step modulate?
I just hit the stop track button and it removes the pattern from the scene/shades it out.
I don't think you can yet, that would be good. You can assign a macro to some of AU controls or you can do regular step modulation in the BM3 pattern sequencer just like in a regular DAW, but I don't think you can assign the step modulator directly to AUs yet. It would also be nice if you could add AUs as layer fx too.
Unless there's a way to assign the modulator to a macro? I can't see the option.
I'm still finding my way around some of this too.
I think my question was more rudimentary than you interpreted
because I just figured out what I was trying to do.
I was trying to step modulate the Phosphor 2 AU with simply a midi sequence recorded only. I didn't realize I have to first record the AU into a pad in the bank, and then I get the parameters on the modulation page. Then I can add a step modulator from there and get the step modulation after I dial/send some signal.
Thanks though
Ah, ok so you are using the step modulator on a recorded sample from the AU...
I was hoping there was a way to use it directly on the AU controls themselves. Not a problem really but would be nice
Quick question to people who're big into scale locked step sequencers: how do you handle modulations? - pivot chords in related keys? I think you can set dynamic scale changes (never used this function - always use chromatic roll) so the key change shouldn't be an issue, but how do you prepare it?
Niiiice ! Thx so much Intua and @mathieugarcia ...
It's getting better and more stable with each new update... Keep up the good work. I now have a blast and produce the best beats I ever produced so easily... I'm really happy.
I identified a small bug with the zoom representation in the main sequencer view : the rectangle on the top view of the full track is way larger than what is shown in the main view (sorry, hard to explain for a French guy I guess).
And please would it be possible to add an option to change a parameter for several pads at a time in the editor view (kind of what you just added for layers) ? This would be so great to play with the resonance or pitch or other parameters of a loop/sample you just sliced to pads...
Peace dudes.
Sorry I missed your question earlier Skiphunt, Glad you to got it sorted. I think we all learning it still to some extent.
You should be able to. Go to the plugin page and display the synth. There is a button called show AU Knobs. Those can be set to any parameter the AU has. Once set they should be available as Mod targets.
BM3 steals any other DAWs show on iOS.
Yes I've been using the AU knobs. But is there a way to assign a step modulator or lfo to them? You can see all the AU parameters in the sequencer but they don't seem to pop up in the modulations tab...
No worries. It was just driving me insane that I couldn't find it. Couldn't find any videos, and couldn't find it in the manual. Pretty aggravating actually, but I finally found it. Seems you could just do a search in their manual and find a feature like that pretty easily.
That's what I thought, but I couldn't figure it out. I saw that you can set the AU knobs to macros, but how would you set them to be Mod targets and show up on the Modulator screen?
It doesn't look to me like you can do this. Normally, in the sampler, you double-tap a parameter to set the modulator from a popup window. It then shows up in the Modulations tab - not the other way around. With the AU parameters you don't get that option when double-tapping.
This could be an uninformed opinion however.
Yes I thought the same thing or else they are hiding this option well. Maybe they'll add it. I'm surprised you can't add the lfos to macros too as that would be the workaround.

I think @Samu mentioned once that it's expected in an upcoming update.
I thought i saw that maybe i have to recheck.
