I was waiting for the universal version. I'll have to wait for a discount then.

  • @echoopera Thanks for those two videos brother, whether you made them or not I just really appreciate the information exchange about this beast BM3.

The cat in the second video nails it on the head: BM3's manual is lacking to the point of being nearly non-existent. Yes the basic info is presented in those "articles" on the Intua site but anyone with a few days experience with ANY MPC style groove box or DAW could suss out those basic operations. It's the myriad of other heavy-duty, deep functions that makes BM3 so powerful we need a manual for.

As an Auria devotee it's taken me awhile to acclimate to creating on BM3; I don't think there were edits, maybe, but the first video on drag & dropping audio loops was eye-opening, the guy was flying around the interface. I'll keep messing with it, because obviously as much the layout benefits hip hop, EDM, midi production BM3 has the tools to create any type of music.

Can BM3 do audio quantize as in Auria Pro?

At around -4:00 in the video

    No.

You can slice up an audio clip, have it create a pattern with each slice as a playable note, then rearrange or quantize those, but it's not at all the same thing as Auria is doing. It's just triggering the slice, not warping the audio.

  • I do hope they release a quickfix update soon, that will address it, because there are still plenty of bugs that are unnecessarily crippling this great app.

  • Has anyone else noticed that you cannot export separate tracks as wavs? The - start export - button goes missing.

Try if muting other tracks when exporting works

No, it doesn't change anything. Click export and choose - audio export, choose TRACKS, then choose WAVE as your file export options and you'll see the last option at the bottom you have is 'normalize off'. It is like the 'start export' goes outside the screen. See what I mean?

Yes, but if you mute other tracks and export the whole session, do the muted tracks still get in the mix or are they muted(meaning that only the track thats isnt muted gets exported)?

You don't seem to be understanding what I am saying. I CANNOT export SEPARATE CHANNELS/BANKS AS SEPARATE TRACKS because the button to export tracks disappears. Everything works fine for the STEREO MIX, muted or not. I am only talking about exporting separate tracks. Which you have option to choose when you click EXPORT button in the upper right corner.
You still have to hit START EXPORT button which shows up when the vertical rectangular window opens up. But, when you opt for WAVE, it disappears. It is still there if you choose AAC. It's a weird bug, it seems.

THIS is what I am talking about. The 'START EXPORT' button completely disappears when you want to export separate WAVE channels. This worked before. I know because I used it.

I did. I can export tracks one by one as stereo mix by muting all tracks and soloing just one, one-by-one. And I can export wavs like that. However, that wasn't my question. Thanks, anyway

  • @zhoe - if you bring this up at the intua forum they may be able to help you...

It still works for me, even though the button appears to be missing. Just tap down there under Normalize... where the button should be (was in 3.0.1) and it should initiate the export.

  • YES!, Thanks! Hope 3.0.3 will be out soon.

Wow, true! That worked, cheers. I guess the window got stretched outside the boundaries, so the visible button disappeared but the 'trigger' remained. Cool, thanks once more. You saved me several hours today

    Addresses what?

It's not clear from your post what you're hoping is fixed in an update. The reason I'm asking is if you're asking about the post above (my post about audio warping), that would not be a fix. It would be a feature request that would need to be clearly defined and made over at the Intua forum to get any serious attention.

I was referring to the export feature, and I guess, generally speaking. all those bugs others reported it in this thread. I was then informed that the issue I was talking about has been reported yesterday.

FL Studio on the desktop offers sample slicing and rearranging like this, and it's super cool. I love that it's available in BM3 now as well. There are many uses. For instance, I only had a few minutes to lay down some guitar chord comping for something I was working on. Looping it as-is into the project sounded very boring. So, in a few minutes I had sliced it up and was easily able to create patterns with small variations (note missing or rearranged here or there) that improved things. It's also fantastic for creating fills from drum loops.

I've not made use of Auria Pro's warping ability. It seems like it's perfect for fixing up mis-timings here or there. I tried adding swing quantize to a drum clip last night, and the results weren't all that great. Probably just lack of experience on my part though.

Yep, the loop slicing is great for certain uses... What I will like to do is 'quantize' vocals parts done to another beat and line it up to my new beat...The human voice is the greatest instrument... And to have the ability to manipulate it is quite powerful... even magical...

    bleh! Not mine! :s
The only manipulation powerful enough for that is "mute".

I have problems using the Pencil in the piano roll of the Pattern view.

With the hand selected (leftmost of the 4 little buttons bottom-left), the Pencil does not seem to work at all.

Choosing something different than the hand makes the Pencil sometime able to add a note, but not always and not always where I want.

Somehow, this reminds me of my problems with Auria Pro...

    Anybody noticed the same?
I would then report at Intua... but maybe I am just doing things wrong, again :-D

No you're not. I found the same. pencil not currently useful in bm3 for said reasons.

"Now go pencil all your stuff, and have a lot of fun doing it." just doesn't have the same ring to it.
