  • Now add "export to BlocsWave" and I will be full hayppyness...

You don't need that...just export the Project and import to BlocsWave...or just run it alongside in sync via Ableton Link and record your sessions in AUM...

Anybody found the "fine tune volume for notes" in the pattern editor? Cause all I see is the same loud, soft, etc in a new location

Press and hold a note in the editor..then wait and see what happens ;)

Thanks for the tip. Makes a huge difference. Running Xynth with it and it's a pretty thing...

Nice. Was planning on doing the same. Especially since I have so many saved patterns I made before it even had Link.

  • thank you

Why isn't my usb MIDI to CCK working? It should recognize it automatically?

I bought the synth to play it on a keyboard, not poke notes in or play on a screen. Maybe this just isn't for me.

  • restart system, maybe plug CCK first, let that get recognized, then plug keyboard. I'll check mine at home as I don't have it with me now.

  • Plugged in my trusty LPK25 (using USB to lightning connector) and app didn't play a note. Switched apps to SynthMaster Player and that app worked just fine. Closed that app and went back to Groovebox and still no dice.

  • @AmpifyxNovation did you guys by any chance tested with the USB CCK adapter?

Guys, please try this, insert Groovebox inside AUM or AB3 then connect your CCK midi keyboard and see if AUM or AB3 sees it? Might have to enable or select it from the channel midi input selections available and proper midi channel. That might work.

  • I clearly don't know how to use AUM without AU. I can't seem to get any sound to come from Groovebox within AUM, even using the AUM keyboard, which is routed to the Groovebox node.

Did you check background audio? I know I've screwed that up many a time

I don't want to make the export/import when I can ask devs for make similar than they did with Blocs/Launchpad and also will be coherent with their workflow apps. Add scenes to Groovebox and export them as samples/scene into Blocs for slicing and later export into Launchpad... I see Groovebox as Blocs content feeder since I prefer produce in it.
To play live I prefer Launchpad alone since it's was support most Launch hardware and have fx...

Edit: trying with AB and link it works great but I don't see myself using it more than drumloop recording due to dicer feature. For melodic content I don't want to mesh with back and forth, just one app at each moment...

So I loaded Redshrike, SunrizerXS and Groovebox into AUM as inter-app audio. I could have the buit-in keyboard set Redshrike and SunrizersXS as destinations (and could get sounds), but Groovebox doesn't show up as an option for a destination. The could be part of the problem, yes?

  • In order to get sound from Groovebox you need to select a specific module. Then you'll be able to hear that module and send midi to it.

I did. I selected the polysynth within groovebox and then went back to AUM. Or are you saying I need to select the module within AUM? If the latter, I'm still not seeing where I would do that.

Maybe this is a dumb question: Do I need to have bought any of the expansions to use the MIDI? I have not done that yet (wanted to test drive the MIDI part first).

Did you check background audio in groovebox settings?

  • I'm assume the button the right (default setting) is background audio = on. I actually tried it in both positions, though.

Oh boy. Sorry I dunno what to tell ya. Yeah right = on.

  • Wow, I totally didn't proof my last post. But yes, to test again, I pressed play to get the audio to run, and background audio is definitely on.

  • Not dumb at all friend. There's no dumb question only dumb answers someone once said. :)

Yeah go into AUM then tap Groovebox, once in Groovebox select and enable Poly 8 module. Bring up AUMs keyboards and if you get poly8 sound, your good to go.

  • I did all that and no sound from AUM keyboard. When I go to the keyboard destinations, Groovebox simply doesn't show up.

Okay. I get the problem child of the day award. I just realized that I hadn't updated Groovebox on my phone. I updated on my iPad last night, and since I also applied all other updates on my phone yesterday, I assumed Groovebox was good to go there, too.

Just downloaded the update on my phone. Both AUM and my LPK25 via USB to lightning connector both work perfectly. Sorry for the headaches.

Totally excited now. Going to buy some of those expansion packs.

    Ok figured it out :)

    Close everything. Restart AUM.
Load Groovebox. Now tap Groovebox and enable or load a Module. Empty the pattern in that poly 8 module.

Go back out to AUM and enable keyboard as such:
Tap little wrench on the right side of the keyboard to enter settings:

    Lol

  • Just bought the 3 instrument expansions as well as the acoustic drum kit, bass rewired and 3 of the 4 polysynth preset packs. I'm going to be quite busy tonight.

  • Is there anyway of zooming out of the pattern midi editor. It's so zoomed in you have to keep constantly scrolling round ?

  • I only got USB keys midi in to work using original Midiflow.

Ditto. Which is bad coz midiflow is on the death list.

Are you sure? It's not on mine. Whereas Midibridge is another matter. But there's always hope..
