I didn't need this app for a whole 7 pages of forum posts, lol. Then I reread everything and finally caved and bought the whole set. You all could have saved me a lot of time if you posted more about how awesome the arp is!
I really thought I was done with these huge sample based apps, but now that ios 11 makes it easy to offload apps while saving your data I've got tons of unused space on my ipad. Well, a bit less now...
Guess I’m gonna delete most of my other synth apps now .
offload apps while saving data? how does that work?
It’s a toggle in the settings app in iOS 11.
Settings/General/iPad Sorage in ios 11. After it loads your list of apps, the right arrow takes you to the option to offoad an app while saving your data files. Really nice for apps where you have a bunch of presets you don’t want to lose but you don’t need a big app on your device all the tine. After you offload apps they still show up in you folders but have a little cloud icon next to them. They also stll appear in IAA pick lists and download if you select them.
There’s also an option to let ios offload apps you haven’t used for a while if you need the space for more apps. Makes it a lot easier to justify getting a big app like this one.
Really nice. Thanks for the explanation/nudge.
I wish I could use the massive efx panel in AB3.
does anybody know what is size of app including all IAP purchases ? Thinking about it but not sure if it will not eat all my ipad free space (which is currently 6 GB) :-)
4gb and change, somewhere earlier in the thread was the exact number
4.82 GB
This is nothing short of fabulous. Love it. Very usefull for me. Even though I like to tweak my synths - just for the joy of it, I tend to use presets a lot. And these are seriously good. Anyhow, I have a few reservations, a few issues I would like to raise here. The app itself simply does noet match the qualilty af the sample library, and it looks a bit rushed to me.
Things that ought to be sorted/changed. From my point of view. Call it my wishlist:
Ableton Link would be nice, but it does work nicely inside AUM, so it's not strictly neccesary
MIDI channel selection instead of the OMNI. Of course one can use MIDI filters, but this basic functionality is really a must.
Multi timbrality. As much as I like the layering options, the possibility to access each layer individually would be a major improvement. And with these arpeggiators. Wow.
Making the library accesible to Sample Tank, as in the desktop version, would of course be a way to provide these things, and even more!
As would implenting AUv3 of course ...
What do you think? @ikmultimedia ?
Was not interested in this in this at all but downloaded the demo out of curiosity at how analog it sounded and after creating a few presets of my own bought the full version. It does sound very good and its surprising how much you can alter the sounds with the limited controls + FX to create something different. Really like the arp but having to type in the semitone offset is not fun. Would be much better if you could use a slider.
Ya but the Arp is a rock solid and well thought out thing of beauty for me. And I like the slider idea also, it would definitely be much easier
The manual says that you should be able to tap on this field and drag your finger up and down to set the offset, so maybe that's in the works.
I'm also hoping for a better way to accurately adust the front panel knobs. Tuning various layers in intervals can be really frustrating with the current setup...you have to continously retrigger a note while tuning to hear the tuning change, and the knobs are way too sensitive to set accurately.
I'm still on the fence about getting the complete version, but the versatility of the effects section is trying hard to sway me to pick up those extra samples.
I love that you can select multiple versions of the same effect in the rack if you want...a rack full of flangers set to a slow sweep with high resonance sounds great with a harmonically rich input.
@ikmultimedia are there any plans to have this go universal. I'd love to be able to carry this around on my celphone.
I went ahead and bought it, praying to God/Santa/Satan/Zlatan that the knobs/parameters behavior gets sorted out so you can dial in precise values.
I'm really liking this one, lotsa good sounds, lotsa possibilities to sculpture new sounds. It's really a neat touch that each synth has it's own skin, even though the sample/synth engine is the same across all synths/sounds. It's only eye candy, but....candy is candy?
Wish list:
1- Ability to dial in parameters, like say tuning, without getting a stroke.
2- The area on top of the keys that you grab to scroll the keyboard, make it smaller and/or move it slightly up, it's covering quite a large area of the actual keys. Or preferably just have the keys register input when hitting that area, which would also allow users to scroll the keys while playing/holding notes.
3- Something....something....I forgot what....Korg Gadget integration? Moar synths? Hmph nope..
Can confirm getting a few stuck notes here and there btw, as mentioned by someone already.
Please!!
In case anyone was wondering and planning their budgets -- according to IK website the introductory price is till October 31
I like the sounds on the free taste, but I'm passing on the IAPs. I'm not buying any more synths that lack a full MIDI implementation. It's kind of a basic feature ones expects.
Check out this awesome vid about the effects section! Blows me away how much that single effect "Ensamble"
Makes such a tremendous difference to the sound especially to the Junos.
Make it a separate app please!
Cheers
The Lunchbox Has Landed!
Has to be said this is a nice thingie that I could probably piece together with other bits of kit, but would still love as a standalone....
This is awesome just with the free version - it will be mine soon!!

I'm on it
I was wondering if I purchase additional synths will I get more multis or do you have to get a full package for upgraded multis?
I made to my Dr. in Vermont! Good time to catch up on forum things while waiting.
Thinking of picking up another synth to go along with Galaxy. Trying to decide which. I like the moogy bass one and the Juno so far I think?
Get the lot bro you'll love it!
I have no idea what this means, but find myself jealous all the same. I miss Vermont.
