I don't know how you guys deal with the latency in iOS playing guitar through these amp sim apps, especially while stacking multiple apps and effects. I thought it would be cool and bought a jam interface but the latency was total deal breaker for me. Hope it improves in the future.

My latency on stage with Bias FX in iTrack dock and in-ear monitoring is the same as standing 7 feet in front of an amp - totally acceptable.

I don't notice any latency when I use my focusrite 2i4, irig hd, or when I used to use iriffport. I haven't even had the need for the "super low latency" option in the Bias FX settings tab. Maybe...........I'm just a fast hearer? :)

  • unfortunately with Apple it always seems to depend on how old your hardware is - I suspect those with older phones or iPads will see a harsher change in latency with higher IOS numbers than those with newer devices. With the iPad Pro any increase in latency is more than made up for by the smaller possible buffer sizes.

Sucks bias fx is iPad only. Dunno why they never ported it. Then again I like tonestack fx pedals and pitch shifting better so it's kinda whatever. Supposedly a big tonestack update coming late in the year according to developers

  • How do they compare four years later?

Imo, neither would be considered as good as the Nembrini amps or THU by most though ToneStack does have a ton of handy effects.

You had to create a Zombie thread for this? Really. Just make a new thread:
    How do "ToneStack and Bias/Jamup"?

ANSWER: Who cares after OverLoud's TH-U rocked my world. I used to love ToneStack and bought the whole enchilada when it went AUv3 just to honor those years of service.

@flo26 also made a demo of my absolute favorite sounding amp and it's was... wait for it...
the 57' Custom Shop fender IAP in Amplitube. I had written off Amplitube completely years ago... before I fell for ToneStack. That 57 Custom Shop has the clean tube sound I just want to swim in. It's a great jazz tone. Like but much better than the Jazzer's Polytone amps. TH-U has a Polytone clone that was my favorite but that Fender just stops me in my tracks.
