I did but that was a long time ago, not sure if I can batch export or not...stand by
Yea looks like you can only export patch by patch. I remember it being pretty simple though, like download and open in TC-11 but if someone still has them outside of TC-11 hopefully they can zip em up for ya
Can I request some patches for TC-11 created by ChrisG? His patches for Nave were Super-outstanding (I use HIS patches when I play Nave, not all the other ones from the Well-known patch designers). Chris's use of playable warm organic sounds made Nave my favorite. As awesome a playing surface as TC-11 is, I regret that I'm not savvy enough to whip up some lush warm awesome sounds for TC like he did for Nave.
A big thing with creating good presets in TC-11 that are expressive and use it's great interface is using the tons of different "controllers" that can be used for almost every parameter in your patch, these are what makes the sound react in different ways when playing...and there are a bunch of em
There are two ways to export multiple patches: put them in a group and export the group, or grab them from iTunes file sharing.
I tell you what I really want: an online repo you can contribute to / download patches from in-app.
Trying to buy and getting an error... this item is currently being modified, please try again later. I'm guessing there's an update getting pushed to it in the App Store right now?
Or you just missed the sale?! ....and that modification is the price
@BitShapeSoft congrats on the success man, well-deserved! PM me if you want to know about an easy way of doing in-app online patch sharing, I'm doing that in guitarism
Yup...price went up as I was trying to buy it. Shazbot!
Wow, I haven't heard shazbot for probably around 25 years... I'm guessing we are mostly older folks here?
Actually, that question might make a good post topic...
Thanks, Rhism! I will PM you about patch sharing implementation.
@NoiseHorse Thanks! I'm usually just like use-factory-presets-and-move-the-filter-cutoff around. Nave was my first step into designing my own sounds from scratch really. But hopefully that'll spill over into making presets for other synths as well, who knows!
Also, I thought I saw TC-11 make it well into the overall top 100 charts, not just in the music category. Hopefully that'll add some fuel to the sales !
I only had about 5 minutes to mess w/the app after purchasing it yesterday but i am loving the interface. I have no idea what i'm doing but that's part of the fun w/new apps, right?
Really looking forward to checking out the manual and figuring out how to get started w/this beast.
Anyone have the preset that FRibeiro used in the video.
Its already loaded..its called stomp box
FRibeiro said in the original thread.....
The patch in the video is actually a preset called Stomp Box, slightly tweaked. I've changed the notes on the sequencer, and set delay, filter and LFO parameters and touch controls... Almost every parameter on TC-11 can be assigned to different gestures on the screen! The sequencer is the trick to get melodic lines out of this synth. Instead of letting it run by itself, each note is triggered by different positions on the screen grid. Notes are set by MIDI Note Numbers. Then you can program this huge amount of modulation possibilities to the various gestures. For example, that patch uses distance from the first touch to control LFO speed and Filter Cutoff among other things like FM. The patches are always "alive" under your fingers!
Thanks @commonstookie.
Any time old man:)
Lol. The older the violin, the sweeter the music. Lol
Your only as old as the woman you feel.
@BitShapeSoft
I feel a bit cheeky asking for feature requests since I got this on sale...But, I noticed that my iPad 2 (iOS 7) couldn't keep up with some presets without audio crackles/pops (the preset mention above is one example). Now, I closed all apps and opened Audiobus, that will set the audio buffer to 512 for all subsequent audio apps that are opened after Audiobus. Raising the audio buffer to 512 fixed all the issues, and considerably raised the performance of tc-11 on the iPad 2 even at higher poly settings in tc11, all without having a noticeable effect on latency really. Would it be possible to implement a way for tc-11 to either auto detect older hardware and set the audio buffer to 512 (a la Nlog synth), or alternatively have a configurable buffer setting in the app (low=128/256 , hi=512 or something like that)?
Buffer size has always been on my mind. The iPad 1 had a 512 buffer, and all others had 256. There was even a time when the LFO was bogging things down that patches with LFOs in use had a higher buffer size (since been fixed).
As you've seen, TC-11 is a processor BEAST. There is so much calculation it's insane. I've never been happy with the latency of 512, but I will look into putting in an option to toggle between 256 and 512.
I have to say the app sounds awesome through AUFX-Space via Audiobus with a large space setting....
Chips ;I've missed it :-P
"I've never been happy with the latency of 512, but I will look into putting in an option to toggle between 256 and 512."
@BitShapeSoft Thanks sound great. iPad 2 will really benefit from the 512 buffer size, and even if it does add a slight latency I'd rather take that then no audio at all from this amazing sounding synth/instrument. You could just load any app that uses 512 before opening tc11, and that would have the same effect, but having to open multiple apps will obviously mean less system resources in general, so a toggle would be sweet.:)
Lowering the polyphony below 8 helps a bit, but it does kinda "cripple" the app a bit. Anyway, thanks again for responding!
Agreed, iPad 2 here that would sound much better with 512
The app is no 5 on the UK chart for paid apps. Cool. Can't keep a great app down. Now this is an app that is worth the full whack of £30. I'm sure many iOS musicians will agree to that.
I agree.
@BitShapeSoft, thanks for making one of the very few apps to really make a great use of the iPad screen I'm using it for about a year now and this is one of my top five iOS instruments!
If I can make a request for a future update, would it be possible to implement more than one modulation source for a given destination? It's somewhat into the synthesis engine so I don't know if it would be difficult... What I mean is - For example, in the patch I've used for the video above, I've changed the sequencer/grid combo to dictate the notes to be played live onscreen, so the sequencer is the source for frequency modulation on the Oscillator section. If we could combine a second or even a third source at the same time for FM, with different amounts, we could create pitch bends and vibrato (through an LFO) while still using the sequencer to assign notes to the grid. It would make that patch much more expressive than it already is (at the moment, the "vibarto" you can hear in that patch is just the filter being modulated by the LFO). The same applies for other destinations. It would be absolutely amazing!
And, some minor corrections/improvements if possible - When you first enter the Sequencer screen, the notes assigned to the sequencer are not shown (all slots are blank). You need to change a value for it to appear. That makes it difficult to manage the notes at first, and you can easily mess up with a good preset sequence for which you just want to do minor changes. Also, notes are shown in MIDI note numbers, so it's not very intuitive. It would be nice to have an option for conventional note names (C3, C#3, D3, ...). I've also noticed that when using some of the pop-up screens for setting values, if you input a value that's outside of the parameter's range, TC-11 crashes.
And another small show-off of TC-11 in live performance (not the best use of it, sorry, just a siren emulation, but I hope you enjoy it) Thanks again!
Re: multiple control sources, this is coming for the frequency parameter of oscillators, but probably only those. I'll also be adding portamento (gliss.) time as a parameter.
Re: seq display bugs, that one has been reported and fixed. The out-of-range bug hasn't though, so if you could shoot some reproduction details to bitshapesoftware[@]gmail[.]com that would be great.
Love the video!
