Before diving in ... is it safe to say that Odessa will not be 50 % off next week (Black Friday and all that)? Or maybe it will, I'm ok with an extra charge for insta-gratification

No, there won't be an Odessa BF discount so close to release. Can't guarantee that no other synths will be discounted though

This is really great. AUM always felt like it needed internal sequencers (I know technically that's not what this is but in practical terms, it feels like it). I'm glad I rode it out with iOS because now with AU, and AU MIDI, I'm starting to feel like I might just be able to make some cool music on this thing

One thing @brambos - I'm trying to MIDI trigger patterns. Do I have to have autoplay enabled for this to work? Currently if you set the mode of Odessa Rhythm to MIDI TRIG and then enable MIDI pattern select, nothing works. If I enable autoplay then I can select patterns with MIDI. Maybe I'm misunderstanding how this is supposed to work.

But yeah great stuff. Really should get back to work now. But you devs are making it so hard haha.

**EDIT: literally just figured it out. C3 starts the pattern. C1-2 (and not 0-1 as in the MIDI menu) sets pattern. Sweet!

If you save a session in AUM (in the 'Files' section), then it contains everything: plugins (and their patches), wiring, sequences, tempo, preferences... all of it. So you can instantly recall an entire jam setup in half a second.

If you want to save just one instance of an Odessa plugin with its sequences, MIDI setup etc. then I recommend using the AU User Preset save mechanism. This is also convenient for creating templates.

I just made this screenshot of AUM's "MIDI CTRL" section...

Here I'm using it to connect MIDI CC#15 (or any other arbitrary number you like) to Zeeon's Filter Cutoff. If you set up Odessa's LFO or XY to send out MIDI CC#15 Zeeon will automatically pick it up and use it for filter cutoff...

This works for any AU instrument that shows its AU Parameters...

Check out Dhalang’s particle thing if you like physics and music, it has a Lite version to try.

There is a bit of a learning curve there though. I’d welcome something like it as a MIDI AU too.

@brambos can we please get au parameters exposed so that we can map midi controllers ? Using the touch screen when sweating Is a pretty big no-no at a gig specially here in Goa where it's like 80% humidity...
Being able to start/stop and choose which sequence triggers via notes is a godsend. Only thing stopping it from being perfect for my uses is mapping physical knobs/faders/buttons to the controls. I could do without the buttons but need atleast the faders/knobs...

One request - for the arpeggiator, would it be possible to implement a mode where the starting point of the arpeggio is not locked to the grid, but fires immediately upon the first key down? In other words, when I play live with a band, I often don't have the luxury of using midi clock or ableton link to perfectly sync with the band, so it would be nice to be able to use the arpeggiator "off the grid". Hope that makes sense.

Here is my middy routing for the Arp of Odessa effecting Zeeon

You must have AUMs keyboard sending midi to Arp then Arp to the sound generator of choice.

In my first pic, I am also playing Zeeon direct from the keyboard as well as via an Odessa Arp. This is quite effective for making an initial keystroke then having an Arp play afterwards - try it, it’s fun.

If AUM's playback isn't running then it's automatically off the grid. It only syncs when AUM's playback indicates that the host is running - but in that case everything else will also be aligned to the grid anyway..

I believe all modules have a channel selector within their MIDI settings (behind the little midi plug icon), you can send the MIDI to any device that is listed within AUM which includes IAA and physical devices...and you can also send MIDI out from AUM into AB3 using the MIDIflow Adapter
