@brambos hmm, I might be missing something, but even with playback stopped in AUM, when i press a key, it still seems to wait until the next beat to start (as if it's keeping track of the tempo and assuming a starting point).
Strange, I'll look into it. But either way, it should never wait until the next beat. When in 'synced mode' it quantizes to whatever clock division you have set it to (by default to the next 16th).
I'll have a look...
Try disabling link maybe?
That shouldn't make a difference.
This is a long shot, but are you using a really big buffer size? It could be that MIDI input isn't processed until the next buffer render call, which can take a few milliseconds if you're using a buffersize of 1024 or more.

Great, thanks for that.
So how wide a musical genre style can this app assist? What style of music is this app best suited for
+1
also ability to shift sequences around in Bassline like Troublemaker sequencer would be great.
btw a minor thing, also spotted in Bassline when it goes over 16 steps, instead of displaying in increments to 24,32,48,64 the display says 17,18,19,20 at the bottom instead.
@MusicMan4Christ I had that thought too, but unfortunately that doesn't fix it either. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.
And, just to be clear, I am LOVING the Odessa suite so far! This request is just a minor "nice to have"
Any style you would use midi to sequence or effect something on a sound generator!
@theartwebreathe
Could you post a pic of the Arp open in its window, because I am unable to copy what is happening in your video.
At the moment in time, I am able to fire the Arp as you desire, so it’s maybe a setting problem somewhere.
Thanks bram bos, I’ve only played with the X0X so far, but I would’ve paid 10 bucks just for it. Now to shake this grogginess and check out the rest.
The obvious perfect answer for slow me, lol thanks Boss!
I guess I was wondering if there are options within to humanize sequences rather than a strict driving beated sequence. Maybe it’s just me
Lol
Sorry didn’t mean to come across as patronising
No no quite alright
I’ll wait to see more reviews and youtube tutorials
Thanks

Making good progress now, but think I have something set wrong trying to get a sound from iFretless Bass. Here’s what I have...
Can’t get anything out of Bassline
It’s pointed to Bs-16i correctly but nothing.
The Arp is magnificent! And it does send to the Bs-16i track but why Bassline doesn’t?
Yes, it looks like you have the source and destination swapped: the arrow needs to go from Odessa Bassline into iFretless Bass.
This app is to be used for dubstep.
Yes, you are sending midi from iFretless to Baseline and from Baseline to itself.
Delete both of those connections and just click the box that corresponds with Baseline on the top row and iFretless ch 5 down the side. That should do the trick.

Marvellous. Thanks for your help.
Why’s that?
This thread is going to be killing me all day. Picked her up this morning with Doug's link that Bram posted, but it'll be a LONG day of reading this thread before I can play with it.
Now to see if I can control myself enough to NOT by Kauldron. I don't see that ending well....
Too diverse. It was designed specifically for Brostep.
I got it! Didn’t realize the matrix scrolls to right or left!
You mean like this?

adaptors.........hmmm
Does the app need to be in AB o AUM?
You making your way back to the iOS .........uh oh...........
Yeah there are the mutate and shuffle functions
Maybe @brambos can explain these better than myself, I’m strictly hard on the beat man at the moment lol
Odd. I’ve had it happen now. Yes, the Arp started with a gap after key press. It happened when I switched Link on to test it and then after a while AUM crashed. I have not managed to reproduce it since though.
Well, let's dig a little into this, because the Brambos apps are amazing for beat-driven stuff, but the fact that you can't change the note length in the sequencers does rule out many use cases that require, for instance, a whole note. I know it's crazy to think about it! But there are some forms of music that require half-notes, whole notes, etc. Does Odessa have the ability in one of the sequencers to set the length of a note (or tie notes to create the same)?
Needs to be hosted in AUM, the only host that currently supports AU MIDI......and you only need the adapter for AB3 MIDI.....IAA, network and core midi do not need the adapter
As frustrating as iOS can be sometimes, things like this make it a huge magnet
