  • i get a real "Stranger Things" vibe from that teaser... maybe some kind of modular?

  • Sounds vintage... I love Kaspar so I have high hopes for this.

  • I'm excited for whatever this is and I also hope tonestack 4 is brewing

  • Modular VaporWave Generator, please ;)

Ok, I gotta say this: I love Yonac as a company. Galileo is a stunning recreation of a Hammond B3 - the best digital B3 I've ever heard, honestly. I think that there are some really great ideas implemented in Magellan and Kaspar, and Tonestack sounds wonderful. I own everything they've made.

That being said, I'm really not a fan of their effects, and every patch on their synths seems drowned in too many effects. Both synths sound "thin" to me - especially when compared to my top 3 - mood, Zeeon & Model 15.

I really WANT to like/use their synths more, because I love the company and both Galileo and Tonestack are just beautiful. So yeah - excited for the reveal, but I'm holding off on "insta-buy" status until I hear Doug's demo at least.

Non trying to poop on everyone's party here - just tempering my own excitement. I bought Kaspar instantly and was a bit let down. Once of these days I'll dig into it and see what I can do.

BTW - Steel Guitar is just a blast. EVERYONE with an iPad should own it - SO MUCH FUN.

Steel Guitar is cool, sounds good - but i find it hard as hell to play and get anything good out of it...

  • I've used it on a single track - got this RIDICULOUS heavy fuzz guitar sound out of it which blended nicely with a super grindy Galileo organ I had working. It's just so much fun to mess with. I have a dream that someday I'll be able to emulate pedal steel parts on it...

But honestly I'm just lying to myself.

  • IAA and AU whatever it is.

This is one my favourite videos I Made ages ago

  • I know, right?!??! Steel Guitar is such a blast.

I know I just complained about the effects, but I will say that the gain/overdrive sounds that Yonac gets are unparalleled That's part of why I like Galileo so much - the gain on the preamp is SO creamy. This translates well to both Steel Guitar and Tonestack as well - I assume that they;re the same effects in different packages...

    Yeah I hope so.

  • @dvlmusic For me, Yonac’s synths having the thinner sound is a good thing. I like it when my mixes have both types of synths. The thinner synths can be used for pads backing a vocal, where the meatier synths are your leads.

That said, I can’t wait for whatever the hell this new synth is. It should be good.

  • +1 for Steel Guitar, love that thing.

Dunno what this is but it's going to need to be special, got most of the Yonac stuff but I'm reaching capacity for noise makers.

  • Here's my vote: it's a free Magellan update, allows the user to use previously purchased IAPs, adds AB 3 and AU.

  • @jwmmakerofmusic

Oh yeah, man - I'm psyched too. I'll still fly the Yonac flag - I'm sure whatever is up their sleeve is rad. Don't let me be the pooper at the party. ;)

  • Well, going by the visual/audible clues in the video, the app name ends in an "n" and it will be version number 2, and it sounds like a synth. So...the realistic options are limited. :)

  • I can’t say anything but here is a tip for you all, go to the actual video on You Tube and open the description tap ;)

  • AU and universal.....i´m listening.

  • edited October 2017

Magellean2 AU! Who knew? This will be excellent no doubt, I do hope they install a better sequencer.

  • I'm thinking it's an a new 'Mini Synth AU' that uses a refined 1/8th(Ie. one layer) of Kaspars capabilities with improved modulation routings and buiit-in arp, step & modulation sequencer :)

  • Just realized it can´t be Magellan 2 because it already exist since a good while.

Umm, right. That is completely empty for me, regardless of if I watch on mobile devices or desktop. :)

In the video there is an N with a superscript 2 after it. I saw that as a possible new and updated version of Magellan and not just a revision of the existing app.

And I see nothing in the YouTube description other than a mention of AU and Universal which doesn’t give away much.

Maybe that’s it. Magellan in a new package that is Universal and AU. That would be cool.

That would indeed be cool. Even cooler would be to use the individual effects as separate AUv3's (I'm one of those crazy persons who actually like the effects in Magellan).

Crazy here too, Magellan fx are excellent. And they work well in AB fx slot though I have not tried this in AB3 yet. ( I know, what am I even waiting for.)

  • iPhone compatible!

So a digital sounding Minimoog like thing?
    (FX don't sound good)
So it seems there is a time before and after Zeeon for me from now on.
Time for iOS to move on.
How many synths we need which sounds almost the same.
    Yes, i'm the bad guy.....Happy Halloween >:)
I mean for some bucks i will buy it since it's universal but so far i'm not blown away from what i see and hear.
