  • I'm a Gadgettoholic so when these new Gadgets drop I'll have store-credits waiting for them...

  • I wan't excited at all about the Switch thing - this thread changed that completely

Bring on Gadget 3.5 NOW, please :)

    Vancouver = Layering Melody Sampler

Is that a really good guess, or official type news?

I asked them on Twitter. I also begged them on my bloody knees not to make us wear 3d/vr goggles, and got a "- please wait for next news:)". Looking at the render for Lisbon and I'm thinking drugs, aliens or that someone spiked the oxygen in the local oxygen bar.

  • yes indeedy, here's hoping we don't have to wait until spring 2018 for the " layering melody sampler " or " filtering melody sampler " ( my prefered speculation ) or " loopering melody sampler " or whatever sampler it is.. looks like its running much longer wav files than Bilbao or Abu Dhabi.
the Lisbon thing I can probably wait for.. though the virtual reality goggles make it look like it could be a 'surround sound' synth of some sort which might be interesting..

I heard talk that the Volcas will be appearing on the switch aswell.

I heard rumour that there are more volcas coming too, no idea as to what though

  • There is a video showing Gadget in action on the Switch using a big screen, looks fab seeing all the gadgets that big, I can’t get a link, but this guy got it in his stream from yesterday.

    @Yebisu303

  • Twitter stream that is

  • I like DotecAudio's promotion team <3

This screenshot is Lisbon on macOS, so looks like no goggles will be necessary.

Also suggests the new gadgets will be released on macOS and iOS at the same time, and since the Gadget team have a separate booth from the Detune/Nintendo Switch team hopefully it means we won't have to wait til 2018 :p

  • Melodic sampler would be nice, and may get me to re-install Gadget..AGAIN........and as for the 3d glasses...a surround sound module of some sort ? Running on a TV via Switch and connected to a surround system ?

  • Is it released this month?

    TBA

  • Usually when Korg is about to release new stuff for Gadget the price goes down so I'll be keeping an eye on appshopper.com...

So it looks like we'll get at least 3 new gadgets to 'play' with, the Melody Sampler, Sci-Fi synth and a DeeMax thing...
Question remains which ones will be 'free' or will all be IAP? :)

Last time we could guess because Recife etc were clearly shown in screens within the 'free' part of the list....this time however they are wise to that, and Vancouver and Lisbon are between the free and paid for ones, so we will have to keep guessing...
See...Korg does listen, just maybe not always what we want them to listen to :D

  • anything new to gadget is good news, shows that korg hasn't lost focus.

  • Vancouver would interest me more if it simply said ‘Sampler’ instead of ‘Synth’ and didn’t follow on the heels of the clunky delayed fail of audio tracks. Something tells me it will be a sampler-esque hybrid, kinda clever twist thing but not be the real deal. In the new world of the BM3 sampler and AU automation it will take a lot of glowing praise to tempt me back to investing anything further in Gadget. Saying Scifi Synth... now that is just Korg playing dirty.

Well, you didn't have to invest anything in Rosario or Zurich, the delayed audio track fails: they were free. I agree that they were underwhelming, given the possibilities of finally getting audio of longer than 10 seconds into Gadget. (This is a decent suggestion of how to use Zurich as a tape saturator for frozen tracks to free up CPU.)

And similarly, I fear that Vancouver will be a hamstrung sampler if it's not also a standalone; but then again, it might be free.

I expect DeeMax to replace the current master limiter. So hopefully free.

That 'Synth' tag comes from the Mac version, currently it only has the following tags: Synth/Drum/Keyboard/Recorder.
They probably selected the closest tag. Luckily the description says sampler, plus we see the waveform of course.
I'm not expecting a full fledged sampler with all the bells and whistles. But if they pick the right controls (as with some of the other gadgets) it could be a fast and fun addition.

    I wish this was photoshopped.

  • Don’t get the joke.

  • This article states that the Nintendo version of Gadget will have only the original 15 gadgets (at least initially):

My disability checks couldn’t even get me a single room to rent these days
People love to make money don’t they
We got Nice fresh air and nature tho!

Aww man. I was hoping for “Boring Melody Sampler.” I put in my tired, boring melody and turn a knob for an instant chart-topping timeless classic!

    Vibrato, Portamento, Mono switch, SpaceFX.
Can’t figure out the 3 colored buttons in the middle.
Seems basic, still want it :)

If all the parameters are automate-able like with all other the Gadgets it will be a blast :)
(I guess it's just a matter of time before we have sharp screenshots of all the pages)
