Hmmm 'Sampl Y', 'Shmaple', 'Mon'?
Hope they add 'Ensemble' as an IFX effect, The Phoenix Gadget needs it
(Better yet, add all effects present for all the Gadgets as IFX options).
Not to change the subject, but I would like to have Gadget on the PC, not just iOS, Macs, and Switch. A lot of people make music on PC's. I would argue, much more than on Switch.
I wonder if they will ever do it?
+1
This approach of slowly releasing screenshots and snippets of info is very effective!
With the multiple platforms now hopefully when you load a sample and save it to cloud the other devices will get the sample also. That’s a big reason I don’t use samples. I have to reload on each device. If they are adding another sampler then hope they fix that issue to.
+1 more FX
Start length loop and reverse options in the sample window
Can't make out the coloured buttons either, although sample for the red one and Mix for the yellow ? If it is layering you would assume there a multiple samples involved and not just one ?
Where's the mention of VR?
As well as Vancouver it looks like there is going to be another new gadget called Lisbon according to the Korg Gadget Facebook group.
The icon for the Lisbon gadget in the screenshots is a pair of VR goggles
seems right, i'm guessing SAMPLE , SAMPLE, MIX for the coloured buttons.. two samples layered ( but why only two if it is a 'layering' sampler? thats very victoria sponge and not very 'Schichttorte' at all.. should have called it a SANDWICH SAMPLER imho )
vibrato rather than a filter is definitely a strange choice. with no dedicated loop start/length knobs I'm thinking it might not be automatable on the loop front. no keyboard mapping.
But still, I am gratefull and it will be nice to be able to play & trigger samples chromatically and presumably without the length restriction of the other two gadgets..
perhaps it will be free, there seems a strange discrepancy between the amazingly complex synths and the odd sampler toys they throw in the mix!
Sorry, I'm totally uninterested. The Switch is a game console. It's designed to be so.
Another thing: Gadget on ios is still quit closed. I don't think other companys are going to develop/translate to Switch OS so it will be completely alone in the dark on Switch OS me guess.
@ghostwaves
Cheers, yep I did see the actual gadget as well. It made this Monday a better Monday, if ever so slightly.
Reminds me of Google naming their OS' after different kinds of deserts, (e.g. jellybean, gingerbread, kit kat, etc.) You could be onto something with naming instruments after different kinds of sandwiches, e.g. a Club Sandwich FM synth, a Grilled Cheese Sandwich Subtractive Synth, a BLT Sandwich Drum Machine, and a Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich for a Synth Sampler Hybrid.) Effects could be named after different kinds of sauces, (e.g. Delay = Ketchup, Reverb=Mayonaise, Bit-crusher=Honey Mustard...)
Not everything in Gadget needs 'knobs' in order to be able to automate them.
For example in the Kamata Gadget you can draw the wave-form and if you have the nanoKEY Studio connected the 'kaos pad' can be used to 'draw the wave' live. Most parameters can be re-mapped and I'm pretty sure sample start and loop-parmeters can be mapped & automated, time will tell
So would I Am Sampler, also made by Detune.
This was my first "DAW". My first experience creating music with a sequencer. Hell if I had access to something like Gadget on my SNES when I was a kid...I would probably still have a SNES.
Hmm time to find/sample the sounds from Mario Paint. Nintendo lo-fi sample fodder goodness for Vancouver. They should slap a Mario Paint gadget in there, a groovebox within a groovebox:-)
yes indeedy, reminds me of the old Lovetone fx pedals, Big Cheese and Brown Source, or the danelectro Grilled Cheese..etc.. this is all making me feel a bit peckish. at least Korgs city naming concept doesn't threaten my wiastline so much..
yr right, of course, .. but of so it means more creative 'drawing' rather than actual 'playing' of the start/loop parameters.. unless you have said controllers available.. unfortunately I don't ,, maybe an xmas hint for 'er indoors?
ahem... Waistline, that should read... where si the auto spell when you actually need it?
And not updated in 4 years since iOS 7....
Indeed. Want it revived!
Speak for yourself. I'm waiting for Ableton Live on Dreamcast.
This screenshot is Lisbon on macOS, so looks like no goggles will be necessary.
Also suggests the new gadgets will be released on macOS and iOS at the same time, and since the Gadget team have a seperate booth from the Detune/Nintendo Switch team hopefully it mean we won't have to wait til 2018.

So, will this be the default controller...?
Nintendo Labo?!
