  • Someone please report back when you get it. Not taking the dive yet, but YouTube vids have me piqued.

  • Interesting. Is there a demo? The only thing on YouTube refers to the original hardware.

  • Brilliant! I recall the original fondly... At least it's not another synth.

  • Looks very Cheesy! Gay 90, Walz! IAP wait for Doug to review if he does!

  • Damnit I’m takin the plunge. Want this badly, I just hope it’s a well-made app.

  • The Tripical Birds sample sales it for me!

Yeah, it rules. The extra 15 discs are $5.99 fyi. MIDI in works perfectly and everything else is self-explanatory.

Make sure to turn on optimized stereo if you want the backing in both channels, otherwise it’s just left channel and right channel is lead.

The Venn diagram intersection of electronica/schmaltz is growing.

  • Nice anybody know about some other good organs (especially Church) apps with midi?

  • Tempted by this, and '25 of the original 40 discs are included' is a decent amount of cheesy fun to be had. Be interesting to hear how it behaves in an IAA setup.

Works just fine in AUM with some effects added. There is no transport bar in the app though for quick switching.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I'm quite stoked for this app, I hope it's solid.

  • This is the owner of Waldorf I think?

I knew the name sounded familiar and after quick google I recognised him as he appeared on Sonic Talk video podcast years ago demonstrating the the newly released Nave synth.

Cool, the Monzo household could be ringing to the sound of cheesy organs later.

  • A lovely icon it has

  • Looks and sounds fun

It is a blast indeed. Definitely recommended for music history lovers.

  • The funniest app evah

  • I have an Optigan and a few discs, but I won't be able to keep from getting this. Question is, will I ever get around to opening it up and fixing the chord buttons now?

  • Bit disappointed there aren't simulated fag burns on the UI.

  • I would like to see added:
    Tempo sync
    Unofficial discs

Does the app sound as warbly and kind of beautifully scratchy like the old demo video I posted?

Yes I will be doing a video, personally I love it, it’s all very like the original very lo-fi, but that’s the intention

  • Lo-fi seems to the word! Made me laugh that someone would produce this, seems to be done with tongue firmly in cheek!

And it works well with Brusfri
That is if you want to cut some of the vintage record noise back while still maintaining that lofi sound.

Oh definitely. It’s a real quality app, Pea Hicks (who I just learned about researching the app, and whose name I love) and the Waldorf CEO are the ones who released it.

I do wish there was a hold function for the chord buttons, but other than that, it’s a delight.

That's cool. Might grab this later and stay home instead of hitting the bars for Halloween and ending up arrested. ;)

Nah, there’s no such thing as schmaltz or cheesy. It’s a very interesting thing to experiment with. The phrases are often different per chord button change, fascinating look at old technology.

  • Seems like super charming hip hop sample material.
