  • Or maybe the Cakewalk Engineers, will do what the Ableton Engineers, did........ Go off & make there own DAW?......... Bitwig!....... Who knows?........

I wonder if Garageband will be getting a "zeta" addition synth......

I think it highly depends on if 'Gibson' is smart enough to sell the rights or if they just 'trash' everything.
If you ask me that Gibson should have remained in the stringed instruments industry they have done a lot of damage over the years for us who are not 'string addicts' (I remember Opcode/OMS on the Mac and the proprietary midi-drivers. I mean I have a Roland MPU-64 (4 In/Out port midi interface) that is just a pice of trash now but that's just one example).

  • Makes me kinda of wish I would have bought a PRS or schecter last year. Kinda of...... I do love my Gibson Les Paul. The look, and the sound. Love my Strat too.

The Philips thing reminds me of Nokia - a CEO completely out of his depth and flailing.

Gibson guitars have poor quality control now too. Henry is a Trump-like figure--a completely incompetent, unethical disaster of a human being who just cannot help but make money out of sheer dumb luck.

That's very sad to hear. Then it must be a person with an over-sized ego that is running the company not caring about the quality products only the cash...
(ie. everything is seen as a replaceable 'commodity' rather than a long term 'investment').

But we know that this is the same with every big company. Cash, cash, cash....is all what count.

At least.........Apple is not that way.......err......wait..................

I think the quality of my Gibson is pretty darn good. I guess I've only compared it to the ones made in the last 20 years or so. Nothing prior to that.

Must be hard to compete with Apple giving logic away for £200.

Let's be real here... that price tag is just a fig leaf. The could easily just give Logic away for free but that would destroy the DAW market and paint Apple in a bad (worse) light.

Did Cakewalk port Sonar to MacOS?

They started but it never made it past Alpha

  • I'd suggest a moment of silence, but that would be somewhat counter to their purpose, wouldn't it?
Instead, I propose a moment of D minor, the saddest of all keys...

I’ve already been talking to Cakewalk about acquiring the IP to Z3TA+. I stopped after the update. Maybe I will reach out again.

I went to see his shed a couple of years ago

  • Z3ta+ seems to be gone from the AppStore now.

  • ^ Oh, yeah! But momentum is still there.

  • Damn! That’s pretty f%@&;%#d up! I had a stint with sonar a while back but went with logic when I switched to OSX. And honestly... I was so happy when they ported z3ta+ to Mac. I’m gonna use it as long as possible but I really hope that someone picks this up and it keeps on bett8ng developed. One of the best soft synths out there.
