DM2 is cheap - anyone using this? I know it got slated a bit when it came out, but might be fun with Rozeta.

It is fun on its own, but I mainly use it to drive other drum apps. Programming patterns/songs with it is quick, dirty, and easy.

I can't believe the price drop for Animation Desk Ultimate $0.99 ($19.99!)

Worth trying out at that price, but honestly there aren’t any animation apps that provide a good workflow just yet. :/

I hadn't heard of it, I'm just starting to get back into digital art. After looking at the reviews, it's a no brainer.

Bought it last year on BF was also cheap. Played an hour with it and deleted it.

Man, a Geoshred sale would be great. I cut myself off from Black Friday sales after I bought Ripplemaker earlier but this might change that...

    C'mon Geoshred!

Don’t know if any of these are on sale:

RoughAnimator - not perfect but best of the bunch.

FilmicPro - had my eye on this for a while, seems to be the best app for shooting vids with your iPhone/iPad.

Enlight - Good photo editing app, not sure if it’s become subscription based or not since the new version.

Lightroom & Snapseed - both great photo editing apps from Adobe and Google respectively (and free!), all you need really.

Pixelmator - basically Apple’s version of Photoshop. Good all-round usefulness.

And then there’s Procreate, worth buying an iPad just for this amazing app... oh wait, I did! :D

Specialist romplers for Irish folk instruments (mainly squiffers, pipes, and hammered strings). I only have MidiRegs, which isn't in the sale, but if you like ThumbJam you may find something in your sweet spot.

Yep, I believe Enlight was free app of the week. There were very good apps in this weekly free offer.
Filmic was years ago. Sometimes apps are for a very short time free after launch just as promotion. I also had Swype for free, recall it was only free for one day ;)

Notion is the single most frustrating experience I've had in ios in the 5 years or so I've been using the platform. The handwriting doesn't work well for me and everything is just uncomfortable for me in it.

Lol. I use Notion every day, I'm pretty good with it. I actually don't bother with the handwriting. With a stylus, it's easier to just use the interface. Notion is integral to all my workflow.

I would be eternally grateful if you posted a video of how you work in it. I was really just trying to use it to make bass charts for songs I need in wedding bands, but it just takes me forever and lately I've been using goodnotes and the staff paper template. Paper is probably still easiest and just scan it, but I'm trying to be paperless when possible.

I don't need to do that often enough though that I've sustained any learning in notion.

Now, that's a weird thing: some of the recent updates have removed AB support. I assume it'll be back in a later incarnation, but for now it's best to check the individual app descriptions, including the ones that are still on $4.99 (his normal price point, so the sale prices are very tempting if these kinds of sounds are of interest).

I genuinely can't imagine what it would be like to be someone who didn't love ThumbJam. (But then I never thought I could marry someone who didn't love the Incredible String Band.)

I'm writing pieces in standard notation, so never did bass charts. Can't help you there. I write acoustic guitar pieces, or multi part instrumentals. I'm just using the Apple Pencil to tap the menus, then tap on the staff to place the notes. There are minor issues with it, but zooming in is definitely the way to make it simpler, especially when trying to insert notes. Once the piece is the way I want it, and I'm not playing it on guitar, I export as midi, import the midi into Auria, and assign sounds.

  • Sequential for iPad now $0.99
Very intersting app from the guys from sinevibes, unfortunately no AB, Link, Au or whatever... and abandonware, last updated 2014. Is btw 64 bit and still worth the 99 cents

  • In category Photo and Video
Affinity Photo is also on Sale now 19.99 instead of 29.99

Anybody experience with this photoshop competitor on iPad?

Yeah fun little app this for warping a few loops. Easy enough to get loops in and out, and as it does not have AB, Link or whatever, it seems quite robust against the ravages of updates :)

  • Went for Pro-R and will save to get the Waves from Cubasis. I couldn’t afford to skip this amazing 50% off sale on that plug-in.

Might get ZMors EQ for that price and a couple Audio Damage apps.

For a guitar player, which do you recommend from Audio Damage.

Yes, standard notation is what I mean, just writing out bass parts when needed. Usually I just write a quick chord chart but sometimes there are specific basslines to play.

I don’t get the whole animation desk “ultimate” package. The free version of the app has a bunch of subscription stuff and watermarks going on. Does the ultimate get rid of all that?
