I throw at least 3 Gadgets on my iPad fire a day - that’s why Gadget makes my iPad so HOT!

If you haven’t, Please tell the devs
I did contact them and they keep acting like it's not a thing...

Really? They are in denial lol

Yeah will contact them then :)

i’ve experienced the battery drain using Gadget as well, but to be fair I have noted the same when doing intense setups in AUM, and AB3, especially now that i’ve updated to 11.

I’ve never had my iPad go as hot as it does when using Gadget, especially the new goggles one lol

I would really love to hear about how people are

Aside from just having a great time jamming, I’ll often set up a 4 bar groove, then loop it and judiciously use the “flutter” on every 4th, 8th, or 16th bar to generate quick fills. Flutter can be used just as well to simplify and put space into a groove as it can to make it more complex and random. Record the midi out, and you have an instant basis for developing sequences for playback.

Hold on a minute. iElectribe doesn’t send midi out, does it?

Seriously tempted to pick up either the arp odyssey or monopoly for use in gadget... recommendation?

I voted Mono/Poly but I highly recommend both.

I'm thinking he meant "record the LOOP out"?

    Nope. Just hallucinating I guess.

I remember what it was now. I was recording midi out from my Electribe ES-1. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, iM1(Darwin) on iPad as a gadget, but not on iPhone ?
I can’t figure out if it’s possible to add, but I guess as long as there’s no iM1 for iPhone, it can’t be added. Not a deal breaker, but would be so cool.

You can get Darwin on IPhone, just not the standalone iM1 app:

Oh cool. Very nice of them to do that workaround. Thanks man!

Wow. It's like having the Tokyo gadget as an IAA/standalone with an extra drum machine included.

That sums it up pretty good (in a very understated way) B)

This is going to be fantastic. I wish I could automate the delay per voice, but that's a small wish. This is the best new addition to my arsenal. Thanks, Wim.

Fortunately you can at least pick which parts go to the FX section. But yeh. There’s so much else to mess with that I don’t usually miss that limitation too much.

I'm totally giddy about this discovery and am feeling foolish for not having jumped sooner. I assumed it was a soundset that was really limited, and I was wrong. (Next you'll tell me that iKaossilator is versatile and capable of making ambient bed tracks....)

I would really love to hear about how people are using iElectribe.

Plugin a nanokontrol 2, it has a native mode that gives easy access to the controls of individual parts and it's very easy to jump back to global controls (volume/solo/mute and more). Think the nano pad 2 also has a native mode which turns the pads into a step sequencer and possibly other features. These go for almost nothing if you buy used..

I didn't realise Link had been added to this, time to dust it off!

Quick edit to say that iKaossilator is good fun, I get good results only choosing stuff from the drums and samples/sfx banks with an occasional bassline. You can get some great sketches from this and it exports straight to Ableton.

Just now picked up iDS-10 and wondering if the Plus IAP is usually $5 or if that is a markdown price?
Might as well wait till payday if it’s usual price, as I’m already near $400 in black friday iOS buys.

I am not totally sure, but I think it was $10 for the IAP when I looked a while back. Hope someone can confirm.

Yes nomal rice is 10 now half the price. Would first say try I you need the extra channels and you have some time for that this Korg sale lasts till next year

I wish I thought to double check the end date on sale before I picked up Ds-10 itself. Ah well, live and learn. ;)

It’s great that it lasts that long, in any case - it’ll give me a chance to pick up iElectribe and iPolysix after payday, which will complete my Korg collection.

    Thnx for the heads up!

Looks like that is indeed the case. I’m just glad the Korg sale extends into next month (till the 8th or 9th) .. I broke the bank this month with all the sale goodies, so that’ll afford me a chance to do some more last minute splurging after payday :)

    thnx!

  • Just sayin...the Odyssey step sequencer/modulator is a beauty

True, makes me kinda wish Gadget had the option to toggle between 'smooth' and 'stepped' automation just like on the Electribes. It would have been a blast if he sequencer part of Odyssey had made it into the Lexington Gadget :)

Exactly, Lisbon is turning my iPad into a toaster.
Korg asked me which gadgets cause the heat/drain and I mentioned Lisbon (among others).
They replied: Lisbon has 5 high-quality effecters and these cause battery drain.
So I tested by switching off all effects, no difference...

They keep acting like it’s normal behavior for a power-app like Gadget, but no other ‘heavy’ app I use (audio, video, etc) comes even close to this.

Agree. I have never had this with any other app ever!
