Yeah, based on previous comments there seems to be some app store problems in The Great White North.
It will discount after you click on the bundle price
Mine came to 28 CAD
I’m reading the app info, looking at the screens. It’s the same app as iMPC Pro (1), same mixer, routing, fx etc. The two major things that are new here are audio tracks and AU instruments support. I’m really liking the new paint job, but I’m not sure audiotracks or AUs would be something I’d use in iMPC. At least not the way I use it today, which is more or less as a drum machine/sequencer only. And anything with audiotracks needs Audioshare.
Someone convince me on this one. Preferably I’d want Dan from Akai sell it to me, but he a pimp and probably very busy so..
@Samu
I wanted to check with you about the issue u identified re: meter for sampling, and sampling the AUx tracks.
I’m finding on the resampling screen that I have a meter for whatever source I’m sampling, and that I can select AUx instrument to play and sample from that screen
But maybe you’re talking about something else?
You've been around long enough to know how unlikely this is. It's all about AudioCopy, for them.
Playing well with others is not their forte, or ambition, it would seem.
The 'meter' is there when recording/sampling sounds to pads but you can not 'hear' or even 'select' the source.
On the other hand when you add an audio track to the project you have the 'input selector' where you normally choose 'programs' for banks or 'presets' for AUv3's and on the 'perform' page you have the option or monitoring the input.
But again, these options are not preset when you do the actual sampling to pads from a Mic/Line source.
Honestly iMPC Pro 2 feels like it's intentionally 'engineered' towards using AudioCopy Store content / ripping from iTunes/Spotify rather than sampling external sources, but this is just cynical me...
@retronyms
Small glitches like these (see the picture), trigger my OCD

(The top of the Pitch-Bend wheel is missing and the controller itself is not vertically aligned with the 'mod wheel').
iMPC Pro 2 is very well designed so I do wonder how the above could have slipped thru?
Gotcha.
It's likely I'm missing the obvious here: Regarding audio tracks in iMPC P2 can I import existing 24bit audio into the tracks and if so is AudioCopy my only means of doing so?
That or via iTunes... (Another reason why iMPC Pro 2 should have Files.app integration in addition to other standard iOS methods of handling files from other apps using 'Open In...' or the 'Document Picker).
Thanks much @Samu
Is Bm3 really so difficult to learn though? > @Littlewoodg said:
It just occurred to me that maybe Akai is the once limiting these apps and not Retronyms?
Maybe they don't want the app to be as feature rich as the touch/live etc
That's something only @retronyms can answer.
iMPC Pro 2 is after all published under the Akai brand and if it is indeed Akai who is cause behind the 'limitations' they have lost all credibility in my eyes...
Akai is a sub-brand of Numark these days, wouldn't surprise me one bit if that was the case TBH
Seems like the ‘hardware makers’ do have influence on these apps functionality... And AKAI is not the only one...
Wishing BM3 gets midi export.
They're both under a bigger corporation -- inMusic Brands.

Sometimes I ask myself this question too. Is it Akai or @Retronyms ? I can’t believe that the guys at retronyms don’t see all these issues. I also wondered that since I’ve been on the iMPC Pro beta for years now why weren’t the original beta team told about version 2 and help with testing. Anyone with an iPad can tell about the bugs that’s in the app. Sometimes it’s frustrating. Yes BM3 has some crashes and bugs but we can see Mathieu Garcia working on them on the intua forum. He’s involve and he listens. I don’t understand what’s going on with retronyms. I will say it again they have such great apps in iMPC and tabletop. Why are they doing this. It’s like they enjoy being talk about in a negative way. I mean I understand audiocopy but use that to sell packs. People will buy them, I do when it’s good. Intergrate filesapp and all the other goodies to play well with other apps I guarantee they will sell even more packs and more copies of their apps than before. Almost everyone here is asking for the same thing over and over again.
Seems to me that the only truly stable app for pad based beat making is Beathawk.
BM3 has impressive sampling capabilities but its pattern editing and arrangement is messy for lack of a better term.
I'm not giving Retronyms another dime or my time until they come up with a version of AudioCopy that can rival AudioShare. Simple as that.
Just bought it. Will dive in and videos will be coming soon. Maybe a song writing series
@gmslayton There's going to be a good number of folks (far beyond this forum) who will be interested to see more.
BM2 is rock solid, for $9...
Git em!
We still need to hear from kobamoto, too...
Now Gadget has Vancouver i dont see what this gives me that I don’t already have the ability to do in Gadget with all the iap’s?
I’ve been wondering about his take on this. Wanted to let him know Animoog samples in nicely. Samples are saved the same way as the 1st Pro too, though there was some confusion on the thread initially
What @Samu said earlier, Files integration. iMPC and Files working in both split screen and slide over. I want to be able to drag a folder (with a folder structure inside) from Files into iMPC and dump it with the rest of the folders/samples. Nothing weird, just the two apps side by side, drag and drop a folder where everything is already sorted properly. Or just have iMPCs sample/folder structure available inside Files. @Retronyms Make...it so. (And hook me up with a pcode blink blink bling)
Yup, this :-)
I recorded two Audio Unit tracks, and i noticed that after saving the project and returning to this project it forgot which Instrument presets i was using for those AU tracks and load the default presets for each instrument. Also the volume levels were completely different after reloading the song. Definitely some bugs still present from what i have seen so far, and i haven't even been toying around with it for that long yet.
I also encountered a crash when trying to load an Audio Unit. But thank god for the autosave i didn't lose my progress that much.
I do like the feel of this app though and am glad i was able to get it for the $15 upgrade price. So far this has been more inspiring for me to create songs in than the previous iMPC pro was. The addition of the audio and AU tracks are definitely a nice move into the right direction. Still hoping for AU FX implementation as well.
I'd like to see syrupcore's assessment, as well. He knows his way around samplers, drum machines, and hardware integration.

@echoopera Thanks for the feedback! Do you mind emailing us at [email protected] with more detailed info about your iPad/iOS? We would love to log some of these bugs in our system.
@syrupcore @johnnygoodyear Not at the moment, but we’d love to implement this feature. You can use the “Set Global” button in precision mode to set the value of a control for the whole song.
@samu, to drag audio from pad to pad, just hold it down with your finger and move it onto the pad of your choice. I love the idea of the keyboard mode for samples. As of right now, that is not an option.
@stormywaterz You can import/export existing iMPC Pro 1 projects by tapping the “Import/Export” button at the project screen of iMPC Pro 2. It’s in the bottom left corner.
Thanks for all of your additional suggestions.
Yeah, own samples are best. I was out in the summer night and sampled an hour of bird song
I don’t know if I’ll ever use it, but it was a nice experience.
Yeah, well, I’m still on the fence regarding impc Pro 2.
But because of all this retronyms talk I have recently begun experimenting with tabletop and gotten some nice results... is it a serious app that people use or what? I’ve had a few crashes, but the overview is so nice and funny to use. And I have most of the tabletop apps from before. Think I’m gonna play with it some more.
Phase84 is nice though.
@fivebeforechaos Hi, there is not a latch mode in iMPC Pro 2, but we support sliced loops on pads. The closest version is to “latch” them in the Timeline.
@trueyorky @telecharge @jumpercollins @fruitbat1919 @samu @dutchee Just in case you didn’t see it… the bundle is now live! Let us know what you think. Here’s a link

@reccp @davemagoo we have focused on improving Link stability in iMPC Pro 2.
@exasperis99 we plan to do more videos! What do you want to see next?
@eross @mrcanister In the Timeline, you can draw in notes. Yes, this has MIDI out as well.
@franketti One of the included sound kits is an Acoustic Live session!
@andyplankton No, it doesn’t in this current version. We do support Ableton Link though!
@RUST( i )K thanks for your kind words!
