  • I’m being offered the ‘complete my bundle’ price for £I8.

Now, I bought iMPC Pro on release, and I know damn well I paid more than £5.99 for it, so the statement that my original payment would be deducted from the £23.99 v2 upgrade price isn’t happening. Typical.

Forget it, I’ll stick with BM3.

Looking at TC’s screenshot shouldn’t mine be £15?

I’m in the UK and have the original and pro 1 versions and the bundle is showing at £18 for me, confusion reigns. Don’t think our bother now hearing how buggy it is wait for GrooveRider tomorrow or Tuesday looks like I would get more use out of that.

The original is not even part of the bundle so it’s not right @receder is getting charged £20 and myself £18 in the UK yet we both own the Pro1 version. Something stinks.

Same here - Pro owner, with £18 bundle price in UK Store.

    Something is 'Fishy' here?!

I bought iMPC Pro the initial release for $12.99 and now iTunes want's roughly $23 to complete the bundle.
I do get that when I initially bought iMPC Pro 1 there were no 'sales taxes' for apps in the Swedish App Store so it could be that Apple is somehow 'stealing' the tax to to initial $12.99 purchase thus making the bundle price higher...

So in practice I get a ~$7 discount for completing the bundle vs buying the app at regular price...
Will I do it? Don't know yet...

This is what it says in the AppStore here...

  • Any views on the soundpacks? Are they:
    1. New packs on top of those included in the original pro?
    2. Any good?

    @MonzoPro @Jumpercollins @everyone

Just be aware bundle price is £28, so I show the same £18 Monzo, and I bought (checking receipts) at £8.99... which I think was 2 months after launch looking at http://appshopper.com/music/impc-pro (which shows £9.99 but this is due to UK price increase in interim). So may not be that far off?

I’ve had a small epiphany that Apple will likely calculate by price tier, and the UK tiers shifted after buying 1.... so with tier update, my initial purchase was £9.99 and £18 to complete bundle is 100% ‘accurate’.

  • After the BM3 release if you U Tube for demos there was loads within days. I’m having trouble finding more than 5 out there at present. So still sat on the fence for now with this one.

  • I’m having fun with IMPC Pro 2 - gotta catch ‘em all :)

I think I paid £12.99 on release, so if the bundle price is £28, it should be £15, not £18. What I also don’t get is why they’re not supporting their initial statement of offering a discount against the V2 price, which is £23.99, rather than sticking on another £4 for the bundle.

Based on their original announcement I should be able to buy this for £11. Instead it’s been priced at £18, nearly twice as much.

  • The single price for iMPC Pro 2 is £23.99. I’ve had to pay £17 for it due to having iMPC Pro 1. This is a saving anyway I look at it.

While I’ve encountered a few bugs, it’s all good though from my perspective.

    Thoughts so far:

    1. I like some of the new sounds
    2. I like the simplicity
    3. While simple, there are still a few things that don’t seem logical
    4. I can’t see this replacing BM3. While BM3 is more complex, it really does let you try more.
    5. I see this being a fun addition to my so called ‘Pad DAWs.
    6. The real shame is that it’s not Table Top compatible yet (as far as I can tell) - that really would have opened up TT.
    7. I’m glad I bought it even just for the new sounds
    8. I personally think it’s a bargain and can see it hitting just the right spot for some who may find BM3 just a tad too open in its approach.

Very early impressions - some awesome sounds in there. Seems to be issues loading some of the AU’s and AU’s not remembering the preset patch. I think we already knew AU automation wasn’t included although I haven’t tested this yet but I’m sure this area could be developed much further which would be cool.

Ah, OK - yes, I could be completely wrong with my mini epiphany anyway :) It’s academic for me on pricing though, features mean BM3 all the way (and I’ll bow out of the thread for more constructive chat about the app!)

No AU automation but it does record mod wheel so good for apps that can be routed there. Obvious comments regarding lack of AU effects but of course many apps included FX anyway.

I've just checked my receipts and I paid the same as you, so I was wrong on what I thought I'd paid, it cost me less than I thought.

Basically they've added £3 to the bundle price, so instead of having the original purchase price deducated from the new app, it's taken off a bundle. So instead of paying £15 they're charging £18. So a saving of £5.99.

Thanks Fruitbat, I think I'll stick with BM3 for now. The new UI and features look good, but I can probably save more than this by waiting for a sale.

In other words, whatever you paid for iMPC Pro 1 is subtracted out of the bundle...
...If you don't own either app, you can get them both in the bundle for $28, rather than paying $38 separately.

Well, the bundle is certainly not anywhere near $28 in German App Store, it’s €41,99 and I’m offered to complete my bundle for €19 so that’s a €9 discount from the price of €27,99 for iMPC Pro. Better than no discount but not what was expected.
I’ll sit on the fence until something convinces me to jump in.

  • Problems and things I find odd encountered so far:

    1. Crash to background loading sounds from the new packs (only one off).
    2. AU keyboard scale not saved.
    3. Mod wheel position not saved.
    4. Browser for loading sounds seems to have a delay between the sounds being imported and showing in the sound packs folder.
    5. Each sequence length having to be preset holds back some creative playing / solo work (or maybe I’ve missed something).
    6. I would like to be able to slide from note to note on the pads while using AU synths.
    7. Needs a gap between the keyboard in AU and the bottom row of buttons as it’s too easy to press them while using the keyboard.
    8. Just having IAA fx instead of AU is thinking backwards IMO
    9. I would like a tad more complexity to the fx routing - not Just the sends from each track.
    10. Not using the files app.

Things that are much improved and deserve mention:

    1. I like the choice of sounds better so far
    2. Having AU opens up the app. I will actually use it now
    3. The expanded fx was really needed!
    4. Audio tracks
    5. Mute group layout
    6. I think the price is great
    7. I love that they have not preloaded all the sound packs for those that just roll their own.
    8. Feels smoother in some ways (but might be that shiny new app thing lol)

seems they left out supposedly 'funny' graphic stuff like ducks and buddhas - I'd gladly pay for the lack of those alone. Calculation seems correct here - in Germany it's a tenner off.

  • For everyone asking about THE DIPLOMA pack. At first launch of the app it tells you that you have to complete the courses (1 a day) and after that the pack will be unlocked. It’s a pain having to wait a for each lesson to unlock a day where there’s about 12 lessons but it is what it is.
First impression, looks a or more pro this time. I didn’t think I would like the darker color but it is impressive on my air 2. The sounds are defined much better, I can tell that the audio engine was worked on and I’m glad. For people that already knows iMPC Pro 1, navigating thru this is a breeze. I missed the floppy disk icons for projects for about 15 minutes. I like the new look better. Kinda like a snapshot of your project. Now I’ll wait for that iMPC Pro 1 to 2 projects transfer and will export to mpc desktop to see if this purchase was worth it. That’s my main concern.

  • edited December 2017

When I chose 'complete my bundle' it started to download both the iMPC Pro and iMPC Pro 2?! Weird...
(I already had iMPC Pro installed).

  • Drag and drop whole sets across all pads works so well. Super smooth.

  • In my case with the discount the bundle goes 18€... bit step up for the features. For the regular price 27’99€ I can get Cubasis on sale. I was on the fence for this and try to support devs buying apps even I never use them (iMpc, iMpc pro but also BM2 and 3) but that price is too high for me to make a impulsive buying, sorry.

Browser delay when loading sounds has cured itself.

Changing via the Track Button, takes you to the track you want, but does not remember the number (1 to 4) block of pads you were on. This makes going from one to another more time consuming

Same thing happened for me in the Black Friday sales when i got the complete my bundle from Crudebyte, I already have iSymphonic installed on my iPad but it installed it all over again...weird

  • Just ONE big WTF here!
Audio Track recording has input monitoring but sampling does NOT and that's where it's needed.
(But the input-monitoring doesn't work properly when using Input only Lightning Device such as the iRig Mic HD and monitoring with headphones in the iPad's 3.5mm jack).

Spotify Sampling jumps to a random location in the selected song and gives you 30 seconds from that position but that's something I can live with.

In addition to Inter-App sampling, AUv3's would be nice to sample too or at least a good way to convert AUv3 Midi-Track to an audio-file that can be used as a sample. (Ie. tap on a midi/audio region and select 'copy as audio to pad').

For audio-tracks we have the 'Input Selector' but for sampling it's missing...

I typical @retronyms fashion the app looks polished so we'll have to wait and see if it gets any feature updates (Files.app support etc.) or if those will be saved for iMPC Pro 3. Sorry for being cynical but this could equally well have been an update to the existing iMPC Pro app...

2 crashes so far trying to record samples using my iRig Mic HD (Lightning Port) with headphones connected to the iPad's 3.5mm jack. If it helps to track them down in the error logs I'm on an iPad Air 2, iOS11.2.1.

Peace out, I'm back to BeatMaker 3...
