  • Nah, Apps are for collecting and discussing. Any music that falls out as a result is a pure bonus.

Damn damn even writing this feeds the troll.

Not my intention to create arguments here, just brutally honest discussions.

I guess our mutual points are valid for better or for worse.

Another contention I have is that it’s simply annoying how this forum is almost like the BM3 forum at times and that there is so much time discussing this app yet hardly any music is shared from it. There are so many other apps that could be focused on and understood better for our mutual benefit. And they just keep getting released.

I’ve concluded that by me bringing up BM3 that I’m triggering even more long winded talk about it and will not get the results I need- iPhone version and evidence that people are crafting full songs with it.

    Apologies for any angst peeps

    I’ll end this here

A claim that it is ‘not your intention to create arguements’ is a false one in my opinion. You don’t seem to accept anything that has been argued here, and you keep going on about two things; BM3 being universal and asking people to share BM3 tracks. What about adressing your own starting points first: the fact NS2 won’t be universal either, and that you didn’t provide your own tracks fully made on NS2. That is how it works if one wants to be both polite and contentious, but also consistent with its own argument. You first say your name and then ask me what’s my name. But people here will not ask you to post your own songs, because this is the forum where we discuss tech apps’ stuff, specs, features, announcements etc. Ocassionaly, people will share their work, but this is not the forum for it, anyway, and as someone already said, people might feel reluctant to do it because it won’t be the right way to argue any technical point. Music taste is subjective anyway, and you have already admitted that you heard FINISHED songs on BM3 but that you didn’t like them. Since it is impossible to argue subjective issues, I rest my case.

I can say that I’ve never finished any song to my liking. Not enough to actually say here is a finished song! I have lots of apps - are they all rubbish because I don’t complete song? No, of course not.

I can however say, that I have got closer with BM3 than I ever have with any other app, but does that mean it’s better? No, of course not. It means it fits me now at this time.

All this of course has no bearing on NS2 because it’s irrelevant to that app, the dev of that app or even if I should buy that app or not. NS2 will be ‘another thing’ - just as iMPC Pro2 or Auria or Cubasis etc etc. They are just apps and have little bearing on if I make good music or crap music....that is and will always be down to my own skills.

Absolutely my point, as well. I haven't finished a track on my iPad either, because my workflow is different. I finish tracks in Cubase on my PC, because I record additional vocal tracks, guitar and synth tracks which I am unable to do on iPad, mainly because I have tons of stuff on my PC that I gotten used to over the years. Pro plugins mainly. That is not to say I cannot finish a track on my iPad using one or several apps. iOS musicmaking has been an important part of my workflow. And with every year, I do more and more stuff on my iPad and less stuff on my computer. Could I finish the entire track on my BM3 or NS? I could, of course, but my workflow is different, that's all. All that said, I might do a project that never leaves my iPad from the initial idea to completion, using my fav aps, because it can be done, and it can be done professionally.

  • As you all can see no matter what we say he won’t stop asking or derailing a thread that he himself started from a simple question which was answered already. This is not the first time he acts like this. Like many has said let’s not feed him.

    Sorry

Let’s hear some results of usage please, after all.. that’s what apps are for - results!

    The end product

A.It seems to me that you have an internet connection. The fact you use it for trolling doesn't prove or disprove it is a good or bad internet connection.
    B. "Decent" tracks is subjective term. I already said that, but you keep going on about it which proves the A. point.
    Keep looping.

Agree. It seems like nothing more than chopping once’s own nose to spite ones face getting all pissy about apps and what does what. Yeah we discuss different technical aspects and opinions can help some find what they need, but these are just tools. Find the tool that works for yourself and use it.

Evidencing statements regarding how apps are or can be used based on limited and personal biased ‘evidence’ is just incredibly self serving.

But saying all this just continues to feed trolling behaviour and I really should know better than to do this :p

It's so subjective - but just about everything on my bandcamp page is Nanostudio. You can decide for yourself if anything counts as 'a decent track' - but to return the favour you have to feedback what you think and why you think that.

Hah, lol. Sadly that is often true....not only for iOS apps of course.
Anyway these days it´s all a bit washy. I see people still saying, look here is a track made 100% on iPad and then you see it was mastered somewhere else and half of the sound sources were imported from hardware and plug-ins.
I agree, the result counts and maybe it´s better just not to mention any tool you used, otherwise you start a war >:)
I mean i´m anyway maybe out of the run soon since i see my crack in the iPhone getting bigger each week :o
I wish both, NS and BM3 big success so that there is good competition and they both earn enough money for further RnD.
