  • Does anyone know what happened to the sound packs? Earlier today there were quite a few for sale, but now I only see a handful.

  • switching around between different screens (say the keyboard sampler back to the sequencer track layout) seems alot snappier to me with this update (still on ios6)

  • It's not a node (if that's the right word). It'll pick up IAA but Garageband doesn't recognise it. Do any of the other IAA recorders (Auria)?

  • edited October 2013

    Bm2,garageband.auria are host apps

I don't think IAA lets a host connect to another host.(yet?)

It can be done in audiobus tho.

  • Yes. I doubt I'll be deleting the bus anytime soon

  • Using bm2 last night,I had no midi issues.
Does anyone know what midi version bm2 was set to?
Does it default to IAA midi when you select an IAA instrument or was I still using the virtual midi that I had always been using before version 2.5?

  • @Ian.i wobbled for a moment last night but I got a feeling the new bus is gonna be very comfy.

  • Audiobus is not going anywhere guys... Although I love IAA because it's faster to set up, Audiobus is more powerful. The only gripe I have with it is that I have to rewire it everytime and you have to pop-in-pop-out the apps until it connects them, but hopefully that'll be fixed with time. And with the new A7, keeping the bus running won't be an issue anymore.

  • Oh, and I've noticed BM still eats battery like crazy, while doing not much.
But I love sending MIDI to synths in a loop, and twisting knobs in the synth app. That's worth the battery !

  • @commonstookie BM2 use virtual midi and works good since before the IAA…it's one of the first app to implement Virtual Midi,
BM2, Auria & GB are all Host Apps...
Amplitude, EchoPad (effect), Magellan other Synths (Instruments) are Node Apps…

PS: I just ask yesterday for BM2 as a Node App and he say me to make it for next update… for now you can use it in AB (BM2 input > Auria output)

    Cheers

  • I know it worked, but they reworked the MIDI a bit. works fine now. And the lag is better, since they share the same audio buffer ;)

  • @doromi all the paid sound packs have disappeared for me too - I can only see the free ones but there were several available when I first updated to 2.5 Anyone else got this problem?

  • @Sinapsya.thanks.its true,it did have good midi b4,but i would always have issues with imini ...this time not.

what also struck me was that it felt like I was in BM2 all the time...everything was working inside of it.

With AB I always felt that I was coming out of one app to go into another.

This bm2 integration of IAA (may be others but this is the only one I tried),gives you the feeling (illusion) that you never leave the app.

    @Trueyorky.no paid apps here either.

  • @commonstookie on iMini you can play midi without open FreEWI?

  • @commonstookie OK thanks I've emailed Intua support.

  • @Sinapsya.I never used freewi for any midi connections....or any other midi connector/router for any of my apps.

The app i remember that gave me the most problems was imini.

  • The paid packs are right next to the free. Just click on the picture. It will give you an option to go to the sellers website where you find Beatmaker 2 packs and can pay with paypal.

I don't own BM2 yet, but I like to purchase it eventually. Question: I heard a lot of people moaning about crappy factory samples (and their size). Does 2.5 fix this? They could offer the factory sounds as a free download in their In-App-Store, so everyone could decide for himself to load or not to load the factory samples.

  • @mgmg4871 originally they were for sale through IAP's so I'm sure that's the way it will go.

  • edited October 2013

I just saw demos as IAPs for free.

  • No worries, let's see what Intua come back with.

  • @sinapsya Wow, just trying out bm2 controlling ISEM via IAA and routing through Audiobus into Auria using clock sync and Auria's plugins to process the sound live...

It would be cool if it was possible to route each of bm2s outputs/tracks to inputs/tracks in Auria....

I hope this is in a future Audiobus update....:)

  • @commonstookie can you send my a shot of your BM2 Midi Connection Pannel with iMini connected?

  • I just downloaded paid pack from website link in BM2.

  • Sure@Sinapsya
How do you post pic on here?
Or message me with an email..

@commonstookie my contact is: sinapsya at yahoo dot it

  • I do like the new update. It's still frustrating that I can't delete sound packs. Especially considering I have the ability to add them now. It seems like a natural thing to be able to whittle down your sound library as you want. Still love this app though. It's probably the single app I get the most joy out of. I've played with so many others that have more advanced features and have better UI's, so please don't ask me to explain it. I can't.

  • I ask to Mathieu for The ability to menage our sound content :)

  • Can you ask him for multiple outputs via Audiobus as per Auria please :)

  • I Just ask two weeks ago :)
