Im sorry, but trance used to be great and not cheap trallala.
    Greetings from Germany.

Agree, trance was good but van burrito and tiesticles ruined it and made it pop

Paul can dykes earlier stuff was cool

  • Basically that hard style and hardcore is just techno

I have no idea why they think it’s a sub genre lol

You go to mayday and it’s all boom boom boom

    Just different speeds

I loved trance at times where you got great compilations like Gary-D Trancemaster (the early ones were the better for me too).
Today everything is trance or EDM. I find for "trance" in sounds which are not labeled as trance and more EDM/POP mixture where it´s called trance today.
But i don´t care for genres and all the stupid sub-genres invented these days.
I like to hear and do myself mixed stuff of all these electronic genres.
My favorite electronic artist these days is Astropilot which is from progressive to ambient and psy and whatever.
I would call that also more trance than other things called trance since it really get me into trance rather than wanting to dance to it like it was with many tracks in the 90´s. Some of my favorites were Nostrum which people wouldn´t call trance maybe....sure not today.
But today i find even more interesting electronic music even when i often miss the good old times.
I love Dune but not so the commercial singles they released but on some of their albums was some incredible stuff to hear for me.
But i hear even from no name artists really good stuff today.

    Nah it isn’t. ;)
You can use any synth and a 909, that’s the message.
    I suggest zeeon and sunrizer.
Sunrizer 2 is coming up. ;)
I can do any sound I want to do with those two.
Well except for the granular stuff I have a knack for.

Sure, there are 100 synths you can use for this these days. But not that much on iOS which has really presence and power.
Sunrizer 2 sounds good. Sadly i doubt i will see a mac version. I hope at least a universal iOS app.
Zeeon is of course great but has almost too much vintage dirt in it for my taste.
Of course in theory you can use any synth or instrument.
    Flavor...

  • Is this trance?

No, that’s kind of eclectic house of sorts with a hint of Balearic and Italian

  • O.k. since the O.P. seems happy so far and you all blow me back to the 90´s and early 2000... :D
That is what was trance for me way back. Not too slow with a bit acid and drive, a lot strings and nice pads.....etc.
Maybe more hard-trance but that was the real trance ;)
    One of their slower ones...

  • Is this trance?

  • Andreas Tanneberger.....yes i would call that good old trance. At least in my opinion.

laughing loudly .. it’s like say “mc hammer, busta rhymes, eminem and kayne west - that’s all same, just some beat and blah blah blah”

or when some rock guy says “all electronic music is just techno boom boom”

  • Also real trance tracks were 6-10 minutes and not that 3 minute crap from today. :D

  • Another of my favorite from 2001. Dj Spoke.
Especially at the end of this extended version that are the sounds which are trance for me in it´s pure form.

  • Or this even if i liked his older albums more because they had some of the best epic trance and acid travks ever this is maybe more „trance to dance“.

  • Who the fook cares? Find your own style.

Last time i was in a disco (must be 4-5 years) i hated it. I´m too old and wrecked.
(Not talking about underground goa party after Loveparades and other obscure festivals i visited).
I would like to go to festivals sometimes like in Weeze (germans know what i mean) or to something like the Tomorrow Land. But no power and time. I enjoy it at home and escape in my mind.
Anyway i got a flashback now and it reminds me how great you-tube is. I find there even more stuff i ever could in any streaming platform or i-tunes (where i miss a lot stuff).
I can still today "chill" while hearing the good old trance tunes. :)
But yeah, while i miss my old "heroes" sometimes (but some are even still active today) i find similar emotions and feelings in some modern artists and like that even more.
So no drama that we are old. The future is not so bad ;)
