I don't know what the heck is going on, first I love this clip and think it sounds great but for some weird reason the workflow of the Deluge here is turning me off... I feel like I want to strangle this beat machine and I don't even have one yet... I've never felt so many ups and downs over a beat machine before.. It's not the Presenter either.. I think the results are great but the workflow somehow feels atrocious today, don't feel that way about his other deluge clips lol

I own a digitakt and a deluge and must admit I prefer working in the digi because it feels more immediate - if that's the right word. I've nothing against the deluge, it's undoubtedly better for making full songs. But the digi is better for quick jams and building patterns imo

I feel the same way! I'm like, what are you doing? And then another one here, let's add this one... What??
And though it's been a long while since I was a waiter (the last time I could reliably hear house music), I love the result.

  • the proof is in the pudding haha, that might be it too cause I'm missing the Digitakt dearly and have been spending way too much time with the model series lately, I want the deluge cause it's a different workflow and powerful but I'm not feeling it today ... felt a little like FL studio today, not sure I need a hardware version of that

  • Digitakt into Ableton is my ideal setup. I work and play on the Digi until I come to a natural barrier, or until I start to get confused by too many patterns. Then I transfer everything, a loop at a time, into Session View clips.

I’ve been eyeing up the Deluge for a while, but for arranging, I find the computer is so much easier. And with Overbridge, it’s seamless. In fact, if you never plan to perform on Digitakt, you can just work in a few patterns, tweaking and recording different patterns into Ableton.

  • yeah, every 5 years or so I make a mistake, letting the digitakt go this year was just that , it'll be back though soon hopefully

  • For a while I used the Digitakt and the Deluge side by side. Then I sold the Digitakt.

Today I'm not sure if that was the right decision. Soundwise, the Digitakt plays in a higher league. Maybe it is because of the better factory samples, the much better effects or the hotter output level. I don't know.

Unfortunately, the fear of a Digitakt MK2 prevents me from buying the Digitakt again ;)

I knowwwww right, that was my problem!!! I was hoping the model cycles release was gonna be a digitakt mk2, was super disappointed but the cycles turned out to be a pretty cool happy ending but man the digitakt is so good you just know that if they drop an mk2 we'll get burned hahaha

  • I finally got round to updating my digi earlier - I hadn't used it for ages because of my deluge - and the scale per track feature is awesome. I might well end up syncing my deluge to the digi, just for the synths and extra sampler channels... I just wish somebody would make an app the same as the digitakt, but with a few extras like more filters, swing per track, effects for each track, more LFOs etc.

me too, like what is the ton drum machine dev doing, there is an opportunity here

  • The Stimming video: the Tanzbar really does have an amazing vibe to it. Loved hearing Stimming's select beats + enthusiasm.

  • yep, always has some nice tidbits for consumption

  • Well this was a fun weekend setup... DIGITAKT XXL

@SpookyZoo Oh Man. Class compliant Audio over USB. I wonder if we can use the DT and DN as an Audio Interface when the iPad is connected to it. Hrmmmm....i know what I’m doing today 🤯

Yeah that would be cool, just downloaded and will do some testing of the new features later.

Shame the USB audio isn't 8 separate tracks like overbridge. Still a great addition though.

Ah well. Better than nothing. Can you feed the iPad back into it at all without a feedback loop?

I'll have to work out the routings for audio monitoring, but a quick test showed the Digitakt sampling from the iPad audio via USB. :)
