They'll get sticky with or without dust, just a matter of time. Even if you keep it in a closed box.

hm always thought it is because of dust ..

I have thoroughly enjoyed this guys work on the elektrons. Very talented and out of box thinker. Here’s a link to 127 Digitakt performances for your enjoyment and education. He also has digitone, syntakt, etc. Top shelf stuff!

Unfortunately not, it’s some type of degradation/breakdown of the material, I got rid of my MPC LIVE for the same reason and I lost a pair of headphones (AIAIAI STUDIO/Young Guru) to the same process.

My car 🚘 must use the same material. All the interior is disintegrating 😂

Yup Yvar is genius of Elektrons - not just Digitakt, any Elektron he puts his hands on ends as magic jam.. Extremely talented, yet still extremely modest.

  • Digitakt + AUM would be amazing too, but unfortunately there is no Overbridge support (to get 8 tracks into AUM) so you can't really use AUM properly with it.

Talking of the big brother, I love this video:

    Especially the razor.

I don't have the money (today), but I may have to start washing cars and baking cakes.

    Mind…Blown…

Will just pretend I never saw it.

    Anyway, Drambo's better…right? 😳

Well, you can use Drambo to build all this but if you have more money than time then just get the Octa 😁

    Thanks!

I don't have the time or the money. I don't think my Drambo chops will ever be at that kind of level, either. Interesting to know it could theoretically be done though.

Think that might only the second video I've ever seen of it, and I'm still kinda shook :)

This is true, but the immediacy of the elektron cannot be matched in Drambo, I don't think? I'm always a couple clicks from any track and a knob on any parameter and any pattern in any bank. I feel like I'm "sequencing" with drambo, but I feel like I'm playing an instrument with the Syntakt. Is drambo more capable than my syntakt? Absolutely! But I can move so quickly in the syntakt because of how the hardware matches the workflow that I haven't wanted to put it down since I got it a few weeks ago  .

I will tell you this, the syntakt has definitely made me want to build like an 8 track template in drambo to throw ideas together with.

I think that a lot of the positive hardware experience has to do with a fixed layout of hardware controls mapped to a fixed set of functions. And there's a lot of them in the elektrons.

If you plan to build a Syntakt alike template in Drambo then by all means go for it!
You might consider using a few knobs/buttons/morph modules as quick access control panels at the front of each track.

If you need any help, don't hesitate to post your questions here or on forum.beepstreet.com, we have quite a few Drambonians ready to help.

BTW, today, the number of D. patchstorage uploads has reached 500! 😮

This exactly ! immediacy and ability to utilise muscle memory on knob and button combos is what always sparks instant creativity right after i turn on those magic boxes.. Bought Digitone and Digitakt more than 2 years ago but still feels like they’re new in terms of still having 100% fun with them and zero boredom - never experienced this with any other HW in past. Actually, looking forward to xmass cause expecting Syntakt under tree, confirbed by santa (my wife) 🤣

btw would like to see your jams, do you have any YT channel ? Or you did’t entered our weird cult of “hands on gear videos” yet ? 😂

Holy smoke just saw this! I’ve actually been mostly experimenting and letting muscle memory set in. BUT Today I took the syntakt to the coffee shop (was worried people would hate the clack but apparently my regular coffee shop is sooo loud it doesn’t matter 😂 ) and I finally have something I can start building a little tune around. It’s amazing what you can do with a single pattern and a bunch of trig conditions.

Did you get a syntakt? Was Santa kind to you?

  • Finally UPS got it to me from Germany because of the ice, but my new device is my studio today

I have fallen in love with the elektron workflow. Had the syntakt for a month or so and had to pull the trigger on the Digitakt. New to the sampling universe so this will be a longer learning process, but it’s definitely fun 😂

  • Nice.

    If it wernt for Drambo.

    May have regretted choosing IOS.

    Major changes for Digitakt!

As found in Octatrack, Model:Cycles or Syntakt, the concept of Machines has now also reached Digitakt.

There are now several new ways to play back your sweet samples. This new OS 1.50 Upgrade brings four different Machines, all with their own different flavor. Repitch for automatic classic beat-matching, Werp for a little quirky old-school way of time warping, and Slice - to chop up your audio and placing the pieces back in any order you like. And finally Oneshot, your default Machine for playing your sample forward, backward or looped. Again, again, and again.

To top things up we also added a new way to record your samples. You can now set a fixed number of steps for your recording. And, Sample Rate Reduction that can be inserted before or after the filter. Just as gritty as you like it to be.

  • Great stuff. It made me want to buy one again, but then I just opened up Drambo. ; )

  • Drambo isn't nearly as quick in action. Maybe if the workflow speed isn't important to you, then I can see the argument, but for me I can just keep moving, p-locking, resampling, in a smooth workflow compared to drambo. At least for me, personally.

This update is a huge leap in functionality. And it's been super intuitive to pickup.

  • His dude is sick. Go sub his channel right now.
