Foundation. And no, it’s not good.

I agree. Unfortunately. Beautiful but feeble. And the second season is worse than the first imho.

Yeah, so much money spent on a story that's just all over the place. Honestly if they took out Harry Seldon's character the whole thing would be WAY easier to follow :)

    Fact. Imagine the pitch meeting:

    • ...And then Hari comes back to life!
    • What. He died?
    • Not quite, but he's virtual now!
    • So there's two of them?
    • Unless you count the third one in the stone who has always been there. But this virtual one becomes real, and then dies! Again.
    • etc.

    Talk to me
    https://m.imdb.com/title/tt10638522

Brilliant! A horror movie that doesn’t condescend with the viewer (looking at you, barbarian). Great writing, acting and directing.

I put it on par with Hereditary and Get out, as the latest horror movies I enjoyed most

    Yeah that's pretty good!

If this is anywhere near as good as those 2 I'll love it. I'm a huge fan of good horror - unfortunately it's very hard to find good horror!

OK haha... Funny I was just now talking to @sevenape about one of my favourite ever horrors, Berberian Sound Studio. Have you seen that? Brilliant. Also love In Fabric by the same director

Is this movie something like "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" but in the sound recording domain? ;) I'm going to watch it anyway, thanks for the suggestion.

Just watch it without reading about it. You'll love it I'm sure. And all his movies have great experimental soundtracks

  • Come on, Gav, I don’t want to get over-hyped

They do not look like cheap suspense horror movies, so I will try to watch these three movies from Peter Strickland: Berberian Sound Studio (2012), In Fabric (2018), and Flux Gourmet (2022). I need something to wash away bad memories from Barbie and the new Indiana Jones. ;)

  • Watching an expose about two alien bodies recovered in Peru, dated to having died about 1000 years ago, press release happened yesterday in Mexico.

  • I tried Two Sentence Horror Stories yesterday. Watched the first episode and was not in the least bit impressed.

It just didn’t feel that the writer or director had any idea what it takes for horror or suspense, and the twist was predictable and didn’t need an epilog.

Probably won’t watch any more episides.

  • The Whale. New Darren Aronofsky film.

  • If you like anime, then I strongly (really strongly) suggest "Black Lagoon".

Oh wow, I usually love his stuff, apart from Noah maybe. Mother and Requiem for a Dream both left a massive impression on me

Mother seemed to be polarizing for many but I was definitely on the thumbs up side.

  • “Twisted Metal” on Peacock Streaming. Binged straight through 10 episodes.

  • Just started the One Piece anime and I love it so far

  • Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm watching Ahsoka on Disney+. Latest episode (5) was a real eye-popper.

  • Started my yearly rewatch of Twin Peaks. It’s my favorite piece of art ever made and I feel like I love it more each time.

You were on the right side then! I think it's a bona fide masterpiece and it was one of those movies that was as much a physical experience for me as a mental one (and no I'm not talking about Jennifer Lawrence giving me a boner 😂. But yes, many people didn't like it. Will always be the way with radical things like this. File in the same category as Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg

Lars Von Trier is a brilliant madman. Dogville, Antichrist, Meloncholia and Nymphomaniac (painful to watch at times) all had me thinking about them for days.

Actually still haven't seen Nymphomaniac. Dogville I wasn't mad about. Loved Antihhrist and Melancholia.

From those Dogme directors, I think the movies that hit me most were maybe The Idiots and, most of all, Festen, one of the best movies ever imo!
